If you listen to what every player (O’Connell, Sexton, AWJ and countless others) say about Farrell you’ll hear nothing but positives for how he carries himself as an athlete. England are lucky to have him.

Sure ‘ carries himself like an athlete’
Other players say ‘ test animal…. Leader on on the pitch’
But who ever says : great pass, so powerful, what pace, brilliant footwork etc ?
      Nobody ever.
He is a donkey and definitely since 2019 we are worse when he plays and significantly worse when he is captain.
Nobody ever plays well inside or outside him,
He carries zero threat and his presence appears to have a toxic effect on the team.
Players won’t criticise him because he picks the bloody team !

That's because of the disproportionate (and unwarranted) influence he has had on the England team for half a decade. Everyone is terrified of crossing Farrell and Borthwick is just the latest if Andy Goode's rumour is true that Arundell is out of the game day squad after a bust up with Farrell. But it rings so true, especially in like of Danny Cipriani's comments about the team being controlled by a few players...

Farrell’s a bully and is a negative influence on the team. Our win percentage with him at 10 is poor. He doesn’t get the best out of the quality he has at his disposal.

England were looking good V Argentina. Then Farrell and his selfish brooding presence returned to poison the team.

Amazing the Farrell Kool Aid that some are drunk on. He's been a mediocre 10 for England for a while and he is constantly shuffled to 12 where he has played well once or twice while upsetting the balance of the team. He is a pretty limited player now with zero pace, no footwork, and limited attacking vision beyond kicking, yet he gets forced into the team which is not helping.

I know he gets a lot of stick and bad press but there is no doubt that the way Owen speaks and conducts himself on and off the pitch is a huge credit. The willingness to push other people and expect others to do the hard stuff, as well as showing by example is a great trait. Good leader and when other great leaders talk about him, they hold him in high regard. I'm sure there are plenty more points to be added to the tally too.

Personally I didn’t know the rule was you lose the points if you take longer than 1 min. I thought the rule was still the old rule that after 1 min the ball is fair game for the opposition to steal, but you can still kick it over if you get to it first. I thought the shot clock was brought in so everybody can see the time left and it adds a bit of suspense. I would be amazed if the correct rule wasn’t briefed out to farrell, but I have to say the way he took his time at the start of the kick makes me wonder if his understanding was the same incorrect understanding as I had.

How can you interpret not keeping the shot clock in mind (I don't think he could see it in front of him from the tee) as 'showing his arrogant side'?
If he made a forward pass, would that also show his arrogance (because it he thinks he is above the rugby laws)?
...what else do you think would 'show his arrogant side'?
I wonder if you have already decided he is arrogant (because other people told you, rather than because you met him), and then you interpret what is in front of you to meet your prejudices/bias... if so, I hope you don't take that attitude into other parts of your life, it could be quite problematic!

I have managed to make it to 50 odd years old without your guidance and will probably manage to stumble through the rest of my adult life just fine without your input too. But thanks for the vote of no confidence, I won't lose any sleep over it.
The fact of the matter is, Mr Farrell knows the new(ish) rule about shot clock timings and is obviously on a one man crusade to try and take up as much of that time as possible (or he was on Saturday anyway) and he properly screwed up. On his previous kick he went right to the wire as well. I hope he got shouted at after the game for doing it too.
I'm an England supporter (don't pay attention to the surname) and whilst I usually have a lot of time for Owen, his actions on the weekend really didn't do himself any favours...... I would call that arrogance, you obviously wouldn't, and there sir we differ and will continue to. Goodnight.

@@nickmaclachlan5178 you say he is 'obviously on a one man crusade to try and take up as much of that time as possible' - that makes no objective sense... Firstly, I assume/hope you have watched plenty of countries' kickers at the world cup, and would have seen that many take their kicks within the last 10 seconds on the clock (so it can't be a 'one man' thing). Secondly, a crusade is an activity which intends to change something, there is nothing he could change by using up the allotted time, so in what way can it be a crusade?
I have not definitively ascribed any attributes to you based on your comment - but you seem to have firmly-held disparaging views of Farrell's character ('his arrogance'), based on what you see on screen, and perhaps what other people say..
This was what Farrell said after the game when asked about the kick:
"I was unaware, I didn’t see the clock - it was above where I was picking my target and I obviously got lost a little bit in the kick, but that’s not good enough. Thankfully, I am glad for the team’s sake it didn’t cost us. Hopefully, that mistake doesn’t happen again.”
To me, that seems like he has recognised and taken ownership of the failure - in my line of work it would not require anyone in my team to be 'shouted at' if they took that attitude... but I agree with you, hopefully he has learned the lesson, as we can't afford to throw away what few points are there for the taking! Best wishes.

At no point did the other person say you weren’t allowed to express your opinion.
The point is that your opinion is based off emotionally driven conjecture and as a result, is kinda laughable. Seems to me like you can’t handle being called out.
