- Another DIY approach to fender flares/ mud guards on a mud mower or offroad lawn tractor. Here, I make and install a set on Fugazi, my modded out Murray Widebody.

good job
I like it
Is your t shirt inside out? Nice job mate, I'm tempted to do that to my Isuzu Trooper lol
When cutting the second fender you should have turned the material over so that the same texture was evident.
I flipped the pattern over- same result. You must have missed that.
NICE FLARES!!
the t shirt being inside out is strange but whats even stranger?! The fact that you used self tappers at all. When you drilled the holes, you should have just riveted it then, not to mention that washers would help prevent the fenders being ripped off from getting snagged on something.
I did the screws at first, because a lot of mower modders probably don't have a rivet gun, and because I wanted to make damned sure I was happy with the results before I committed to rivets. It may be hard to see in the vid, but I DID use washers when I switched to rivets.
I don't blame you, i hadn't thought of it that way. also was looking for a different "silly" thing incase the inside out shirt wasn't it lol
Maybe that should have been the thing! Apparently, the shirt was way too easy, and folks nailed it fast. I'll have to make the next one harder!
Get a silver Sharpie!
Great idea for the missing plastic on my four wheeler! Thx bro!!
Nice work!! My next project is a Murray wide body, so I'm really enjoying this series of videos! Thanks Doc!
The flairs look good Doc! I need to figure out a good way to make some front fenders.
I really like the tab effect on the back of your shirt it tells the direction of the wind when you go fast.
I've heard and seen people using baler belt to make a diy atv fender. Although I don't know what the durability and UV resistance is with this material.
Awesome job look great........Good improvising on your part. Keep up the good work!
Slick trick and congratulations on getting your Diesel Weasel featured in Hot Rod Magazine.
First time here, your opening statement sounds like you were explaining my situation LOL.
Nice modification with those fender flares.
I have a murray I put together for my neice and nephew. I took a piece of sheet metal I got from the hardware store, bent it to the shape of the fender, cut it to the shape of the hole where the deck height selector plate is, and painted it the body color. Its just a little thing, but it looks better. Just a thought. Fugazi has come a long way. I am really liking what you are doing with it. Your work is thorough and you pay attention to the little things like I do.
i was wondering if you knew your shirt was inside out.
You have your shirt on inside out
Hey doc I have a lt4000 it is stock speed turf tires and I point and it goes good but I was woudering if I could pm you a couple of pictures of it and have you pro a pinion

"as per usual, I don't have enough free time and when i do manage to come up with a little bit of free time, i wind up working on something that I didn't intend to work on".......Doc, STORY OF MY LIFE! Sorry to hear, but also glad I'm not the only one! nice fender flares! you should definitely stay mostly clean with those bad boys!
Sir what is the material name you use in your fender
Learned a lot from this video
very nice job.
I like how you use the skinny wheel. no gloves and nothing but glasses. I'm the same way😂😂 hands all close to the blade and all lol. people say I'm crazy and I need to be careful and I just tell them I know what I'm doing leave me alone lol
While I really should be wearing a shield (my bad), I should point out that my sunglasses are actually tinted safety glasses- so, I'm not TOTALLY naked, so to speak. I have a LOT of grinder experience, and can actually make some pretty complex cuts that many people could not. You see me with my left hand in there, using it to stabilize and guide the cut. I know it looks dicey, but I'm no rookie with a grinder. Thanks for watching!
what is the thickness of those mudflaps or a link for them
They're about 1/4" thick, fiber reinforced rubber. Nothing special, just big-truck stuff.
I like what you did. The silicone I would silicone all my tabs that was bent and then I would have put the flap on top and then I would have put the ribbits in that way it is silicone is in between the metal and the flat and it would be sealed as the only thing I would have done different. That is what I'm going to do to my race tractor lawn mower. Thank you for the video
Nicely done.👍
great idea. I like it and beleave I have a mud flap that will fit 👍
Shirt inside out
Awesome instructional vid.....keep them coming!
Almost a year after I notice the tag and just figured you woke up in the dark and didn’t risk waking the rest of the house up by turning on the lights to get dressed like my grade 10 History teacher did so many years ago with the pocket of his turtleneck on his back.
Wow, that looks really nice. I might have to do my fenders like that. Thank you for this video and I did notice your shirt was inside out plus the painted ammo box with your sticker on it. Keep up the great work. Thanks
Your tee was inside out and the tag was not cut out too... Super job on the flares they turned out like they were purchased for the machine....
Princess Auto! YAY! Went there 3 times last week for lawn tractor stuff. :D
@SPROCKET'S GARAGE WHAT IS THE THICKNESS OF THAT MUD FLAP THAT YOU ARE USING?
I'd say 1/4"-5/16". Don't think I ever proper;y measured it for thickness.
@@DocSprocket OK I TRIED TO ORDER THOSE FROM THE PLACE YOU ORDERED FROM BUT IM IN USA. DO YOU THINK THAT THEY CAN BE MADE USING THE POLY PLASTIC FLAPS? ONLY PLACE OUT HERE I FOUND HAS 24X36 THEY ARE HALF INCH THICK. I THINK THATS TO THICK. IM HAVE THEM PUT ON MY 1000 RENEGADE XMR
@@supportloveaprisoner7980 The one I used was supposed to be for a tractor trailer. There must be a local solution for you.
Awesome video man!! As usual! I have been wanting to do this for a while.

You did a great job - very innovative! Unfortunately for me, I am trying to find a way to make "custom" Flares for my 2020 CFMOTO ZForce Trail side by side and the fenders currently on it are fiberglass and you cannot bend them, plus there are also multiple angles involved. They apparently don't make an OEM or aftermarket "fitted" set, and I have not been able to figure out how to make my own. I considered the 1/4" rubber sheet and cut out a pattern, but with the multiple angles I cannot make it work. Thanks for sharing!
How thick are these flaps?
A good 1/4" or so, and are very durable.
Your shirt is inside out
I find it interesting that you painted it pittsburgh penguins colors and your Canadian
I can't help it if the Pens chose MY colours. LOL
go Pens
Would it be any better to use small bolts with locking nuts? Looks great.
Very nice! I was all set to do the Fearless Front method, but I think I will go with this method! Wonder is floor mats could work the same? Is that a new battery box cover, and yes the t-shirt is inside out. Great DIY vid, and the ammo box looks really nice painted up with the sticker on it! See ya in the Forums!
Thanks- Yes, I'll cover the battery box think in the next update vid. Also- rubber floor mats sure would be another good option!
anyone else notice his shirt

Would love to know where you found the 36” mud flap to make these ? Was looking for material to make extensions for my atv
will you put a belly pan and side panels behind the wheel so your belt system won't get wet??
There's really no point. No matter WHAT you do, the belt system will get wet. I prefer not to TRAP the stuff in by adding panels.
Your true there I gettcha but your awesome machine and thanks for explaining all your vids for us and I
Mr. Inside out. Nice Tags. How silly. LOL ;-)
No paint on the newly exposed metal?
Ooh so you didn't just put your shirt on inside out because you forgot your coffee this morning lol
