Avi's bass linked to Kevin's beatboxing/ body percussion was so integral to the PTX sound, so he couldn't be spared to take the lead in many songs. My favourite one where he took the full lead was 'Standing By'. You can hear it as an audio track or in a live performance. Its amazing. Avi is a trained opera singer and as such has a lot of vocal power available across his full and extensive range. As you say, they all have amazing voices but its the blending of those voices that takes them to the next level.
You say it all looks 'dormant' - the imagery is both appropriate to mid winter but also to the idea of a world awaiting the birth of the 'King of Israel'.
Clearly you like Kirsty's looks in this video but can I just point out that not only are all 5 super talented singers but all are very good looking too!

This is still one of my favorite PTX songs and I think it was the first time I got overly impressed by Avi's singing voice and made me fall in love with it.

And to talk about his range he recently said on a normal day his range is 4 octaves and on a super good day it's up to 5 which is very impressive for such a deep bass as he normally is.

Those trees are not dead, they are asleep. It's winter so that's what you get, nature in peaceful and quiet sleep. It has it's own separate beauty.

Kirsty looks stunning in 'Oh Come All Ye Faithful' , that pause button will be working overtime 😉... and they are all very smiley and having a good time with Kevin's banging arrangement of this ( usually slow) old Christmas carol 🎄✨

I think your computer would like Pentatonix's cover of The Neighborhood's "Sweater Weather", which is on one of their Christmas albums because, you know, it mentions cold.

Avi has the most amazing singing voice I’ve ever heard and its so rare with a PTX-song where he truly gets to shine. Love it!

So glad to see your reaction to this one. It is a beautiful arrangement, and showcases Avi's huge range. Typically, he spent a lot of time with PTX just setting the foundation for the songs, but here he got to lead a song, and did it with both power and gentleness. I don't know how you can do both at the same time, but he managed to do it. Thanks for the great reaction.

They each have marvelous voices but my heart has always been with Avi. Warm chocolate. Smoother than butter. Even at his lowest notes there's not a hint of gravel, just stunning clear and clean.

Avi uses his upper range to great effect in his latest release from a few weeks ago, "Healing". You should react to that one. His operatic training honed his abilities, and he continues to take voice lessons to this day, to keep learning and to strengthen his voice for tours. Apparently he was the primary arranger for this song, their "Silent Night", and "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" (with Ben Bram).

“Avi, Woah”, I couldn’t agree more, his voice is just magic. If you listen to my favourite PTX Xmas carol, “Coventry Carol”, you may need to add an extra “Woah”! Hope you will find the time to react to it some time.

This was back before Pentatonix could afford to spend much on their videos. The names you see at the end are from a Patreon Video level that used to help finance the videos. And they shot outdoors a lot rather than rent a studio, taking advantage of free scenery. I've heard them talk about having to carry the generator from the road to the site themselves.

I love every member of this group now and former and they all have mad range. My money would be on Kirsten or Scott. Don’t forget that Scott takes over the bass when Avi or Matt sing lead and these days he’s singing up in the rafters. Kirsten in Seasons of love for the extreme high notes and some of her solo work has beautiful low notes. Matt is getting higher and higher, Mitch is getting lower and Kevin is always great. They’re all the best!

Thanks to reacting to one of my favorites - Avi and Mitch shine for sure. Interesting take on the setting and tone.....I never thought of in a sad/depressing/negative way but I can see where you might get that vibe. I just got wintery and cold - and they are almost always in black so I didn't think anything of that either. This is why I find reactors so interesting - they see and interpret things differently from me! I like that you're an early morning riser/poster - so am I and I look for your reaction first thing.

Love your facial expressions to their gorgeous voices! I get what you are saying about it seeming sad, but I choose to hear deep reverence, as opposed to sadness, in the tone of this song. That's what I believe they were going for, anyways. Loved the reaction, Zack. Merry Christmas!

Avi is Jewish but he sings beautifully about Jesus. Perhaps he is a believer that the Son of God has been born and sacrificed. Many Jewish people have come to believe that. All Jewish people believe in a Son of God. Some just don’t believe He has been born yet. That’s how I understand it. I’m going to love Avi either way.
I think this is the only time I’ve heard this song sang with the pronunciation of Noel being NO-EL rather than nooo-a-el. Think about it. Hear it in your head. Most people draw it out and it sounds like there is an added “a” sound or at least a slide away from No to el that makes it not just a NO-EL. I hope that makes sense.
Great reaction in spite of accidental pauses. Computers can be so frustrating. Good luck with that!
God bless and Merry Christmas! 🥰✝️

You know, winter is the season of dormancy - at least when you aren't in the desert. LOL Yes, Avi is Jewish, so are many musicians who have put out Christmas albums. Also, I think Avi's mom is a Messianic Jew (a group who still consider themselves Jewish and follow the traditions of the Jewish religion, but who believe Jesus is the Messiah). Such a pesky pause button. Maybe it is just trying to give you a chance to speculate on your preferred hair color and style on a certain member of PTX.

A little late to the party. Agree with everyone. Pause…don’t fix😉…Avi 😍…Mitch IS MY heart 🥹 💖 Jesus WAS Jewish…Personally I think Scott has the biggest range, bass up to tenor with a very high falsetto. Also even though Mitch has a VERY high voice, it’s agreed in the group that Kevin’s falsetto is higher than Mitch’s.
