Oh I have seen Avi doing that final bass drop thing when he is backing up groups in the A Cappella Academy when they don't have enough basses for them all in a given performance.
Which reminds me this came out on auditions for the Academy yesterday. Please share with anyone 13-18 from anywhere in the world who should be considering it. Remember they will find the money if needed for both travel and the tuition. Avi repeats that in the instructions.

To add to Gail's comments, the A Cappella Academy will be doing a Zoom-Fest fundraiser virtual concert on 12/13 on multiple platforms. Check it out everyone, and donate if you can. It helps their scholarship fund. After all, Avi has stated on numerous occasions that the Academy is his most proud accomplishment yet in his life. Take that as very meaningful from someone who's got 3 Grammy's under his belt.

Avi surrounds the whole sound, didn’t actually notice that when used to here their songs a few months ago.......
he is very very very Bass-y, silky velvety and its really soft...... not only his bass notes but his voice as a whole.
He stands out to me more than the others in this one 😄.
I wish I could sit in a literal soundbath of his bass notes.

Avi's voice is incredible. I've always been a fan of him. His base is smooth and deep. His lighter higher registers are just as smooth . You react to Avi with the same enthusiasm as I have! Haha. Thanks for another great video.
I love Avi and although I miss him with Pentatonix , I am very happy with his solo journey. I can hardly wait for him to put out another album. I know it will probably be awhile since he is busy with A Cappella Academy and this quarantine business.

Thanks for the heads up on this Reaction. I just love this version from PTX especially Avi's solo and the bass support. Such a warm and loving celebration of the Birth of Christ. The harmonies were full of warmth and respect. Loved your reaction to each and everyone but especially on Avi's performance.....I think you really 'get' him.

Mitch’s voice in this is like a wet finger around the rim of a fine crystal glass. Perfection. And I’m totally in love with Avi. All their voices are amazing, and of course the multi-talented Kevin the beat-boxing heart of the group.
So glad you reacted to this. It is one of my favorite PTX Christmas videos, and I think the only Christmas song where Avi has such a strong lead. He sings a beautiful part in That's Christmas To Me, but this shows more of his range. Yes - when you paused in the middle of Avi hitting those high notes, I did yell at you, but I understand that you are worried about copyright problems. My favorite PTX Christmas songs are this one, Carol of the Bells, That's Christmas to Me, Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, White Winter Hymnal, and Silent Night. Looking forward to you checking out any of those that you haven't yet done.
Thanks for this reaction. "The First Noel" is my favorite traditional Christmas song. Pentatonix does it the best. I get goosebumps every time I hear it. It's absolute perfection. My favorite part (if I had to choose) is when Kevin sings. It's so angelic and peaceful which fits this song.

This is one of the rare Christmas covers that they DON'T mess with the traditional arrangement too much, other than some nice riffing and the signature "Wall of Sound" harmonies. But it works here. And we understand why you have to do the pauses. No need to apologize.

i love all ptx christmas music but this and come all ye faithful are my absolute favorites. Avi's low notes in this though goodness he's spectacular, don't worry about calling Mitch she, he won't take offense he is Queen after all.

Yes, the super drop right after he sings "now you're just somebody that I used to know". I can't tell for certain, but it sounds like he drops about 2 octaves from the solo to do his bass percussive.

I agree about Oh Come All Ye Faithful. It’s by far my fave Christmas song of theirs.
It is a bit unfair to Matt to compare the two although I agree with you and even if you discount the unique timbre of Avi's voice he still has all that opera training. Not necessary for a bass singer in a pop group but we all got kind of spoiled.

I'm not going to say you were bad at singing that. After all, I can't carry a tune in a bucket if you put a lid on it! But this shouldn't hurt your feelings if I say Pentatonix does it better no matter which music sheet you have.
I love when they let Avi really shout that voice. He's got fantastic carriage, you can her him at the back of the hall and he's usually kept in the background. Yes we like the bass. It's lovely but all two dimensional until you add that bass and open it to other dimensions.

I believe it means Born or to be born or something like that
Noel is the short form of the Hebrew “NOrad EL" meaning “born of EL” or “born of God.”

I don't watch ptx anymore its not ptx anymore without avi it don't sound good but I always become hate because it's only because I hate Matt no it sound not good
Pentatonix has done some great work since Avi left. Avi needed to leave because he was no longer happy and needed to break off and do his own thing, and I am very happy for him. His solo work is magnificent. With the state the world is currently in, and the way the word "hate" is thrown around today, I'd have to say you have some issues. I hope you get help for that.
