    I don't understand how lowering the rim is such a difficult thing to "adjust" to. Bro if you play hoops at any level, even if you're bad at it, you would know that not all courts are the same. Not all rims are at the same height, hell, even rims on the same court are not always level to each other. Hoopers would still hoop. The only reason they're so against it is because of their pride. By lowering the rim, they think it's admitting that they are inferior. Too much pride on these women sometimes, the insecurity is just insane.

    The fact that she got offended by the question of having lower rims be an option shows her how little she understands the game in a business perspective. The NBA constantly changes rules all the time to appease the fans and make the game more exciting. The shot clock, three points, goaltending and even dribbling the ball were all added in later in the game's life span. She got mad because "she has to relearn the game". George Mikan, who was so dominant as a center during his prime ended up establishing the 3 pt line in the ABA when he helped found it because he thought it would give smaller guys a chance to score and be rewarded for it. Even though the rule wouldn't benefit him or players like him, yet still implemented it. It shows how he knows audience engagement comes first. The NBA would end up adopting this rule many years later and you have guys like Larry Bird who was a power forward just being a straight sharpshooter for his size because he took advantage of that rule. On top of that, Mikan was responsible for a ton of rule changes. So was Shaq. And neither of those guys complained about it.

    My favorite part about the whole 'wnba players don't wanna lower the rim because muh integrity' argument is that they always fail to see the bigger picture, and I'm not even talking about the entertainment factor. Forget about the possible entertainment value you get from it for a second. Lowering the rim would also just add more scoring variety for players that might be taller than average that don't have great shooting abilities and are mostly relegated to just being rim protectors/defensive anchors/screen layers. Those players would then have a viable option to contribute on the offensive end more reliably.
    For all intents and purposes, dunking in women's basketball is largely seen as an impractical shot attempt, even for some of their tallest players, meaning that they don't even have incentive to practice those kinds of shots which is why their dunks always look so sloppy in the first place, even on wide open rims. Yeah, Candice Parker, Lisa Leslie, Brittany Griner, they don't know how to dunk. They're just fortunate enough to be able to get up and make enough contact with the hoop to toss the ball in directly. But they don't actually know how to dunk correctly. Dunking is a type of shot that needs to be practiced just like any other in basketball. WNBA teams aren't going to make their players practice a shot that 99% of the league can't make on a regular basis.
    Lowering the rim would only increase the overall possible talent pool and give players more avenues to contribute in unique ways, and make a shot that is seen as unviable in your sport be an actual, viable option that's worth putting the time in to practice for once. But I guess these women are really that scared of ACTUALLY putting the work in. They don't want their game to grow and evolve. They don't want to actually learn a new skill and add it to their game like any other reasonably competitive person would love to have. They don't want that new challenge. They don't want their players on the court to have more offensive options and ways to express themselves out on the floor. And they don't want that smoke when reality knocks on their door. They just want to hold each other back like crabs in a bucket while they continue to whine about problems THEY created themselves while they are continuously bailed out by their Daddy that is the NBA year after unlucrative year. Pathetic.

With that stupid logic everyone who plays organized basketball should get paid millions. We should all start complaining too maybe it works

      @@erikfassbender4754 Really? Because I can't, especially when considering all the other accommodations made for them like a smaller basketball, shorter 3-point line and less minutes per game. Yet, lowering the rim is where the line is drawn? And it's not a situation where only a selective few gifted women players can dunk. Literally no one can dunk. Not every player can dunk in the NBA either, but enough can to create more distinct diversity in each player's individual game, which was the major point of my original comment. There is literally no world where that could ever be a bad thing.

    • @gamble777888
      @gamble777888 Před 11 měsíci +2

      Lowering the rim isn't fixing anything. Problem is that basketball is one of the sports that is most dependant on athleticism which is why the difference between the pro male and female leagues is so abysmal. Soccer and tennis, both much popular female sports, are not so reliant on raw athleticism so the spectacle is much more similar. You could have a 8 foot hoop and that's not gonna make woman be able to pull off an under the legs dunk or a 360 dunk. They just don't have the same fast twitch muscle fibers that give male NBA players the crazy explosiveness that is the visual appeal from a spectator standpoint.

      Plus how excited are y’all really getting when someone like Curry or CP3 dunks, it’s not like these women are about to be Vince Carter flying through the air either way.

    • @Jaymez2012
      @Jaymez2012 Před 10 měsíci +1

      @@chieflancewaiters And I don't get what point you're trying to make when 90% of the players in the league we're discussing is low skill where the hoop height is literally a problem when considering whether developing a new skill would be viable? Tall players that can dunk in the nba vs ones that can't isn't scoring variety? Again, enough people in the nba can dunk to create that diversity between aggressive around the basket players and finesse-driven outside shot players. The dunk just adds another form of expression and layer to the equation. Where as in the wnba literally no one can dunk because the shot is seen as impractical and not worth practicing across every player in the league because the rim is too high.
      And, once again, I AM NOT arguing this from a SPECTATORS perspective. Fucking read. I don't care how how excited people may or may not get when Steph or CP3 dunk. Wnba players make it clear that they don't care how much people get excited for their game as it currently is now so why should I? That wasn't the point of my original comment. The point is to offer the players a new avenue to learn a new skill that's worth practicing, which is something most wnba players make clear they don't want to do. Which is an issue.

The women's world cup winners earn about 22% of the the total revenue, even though it's a MUCH, MUCH, MUCH, lower total revenue and prize pool. As for USSF, they rejected the men's CBA in favor of a different one, then got mad when they didn't make as much, due to bonuses and incentives. You can argue the revenue isn't there if you want (as if it's your money to even care about) but to say they are "entitled" and "haven't earned it." They earned it bro. They earned the right to fight for more of the pie if they want. I admire that fight in them. I don't see what's wrong going to your boss and using every tool available to you to get more of that revenue shared with the worker. Maybe you just accept whatever the boss man gives you but some people stand up, and win or lose, that takes guts... especially when it apparently alienates soccer revenue experts on every forum who will ignorantly claim they didn't "earn it."

    When it comes to women's soccer I've honestly really tried.
    I grew up watching the English Premiership so admittedly I'm used to one of the highest standards of football/soccer imaginable as have millions of others so it's a really tough sell to be told to watch a slower, less skilled game being watched by a pitiful amount of people.
    The last Women's world cup I gave it another chance thinking this is the highest possible standard of the women's game and it was embarrassingly bad. I played at a higher level when I was 14.
    When I click on the BBC website for football stories they seem to be always promoting a women's football story that hardly anyone cares about but because of certain groups complaining they HAVE to promote them to the same degree as men's football stories.
    If women's football was pulling in great crowds and numbers I'm 100% behind them but I have eyes and can see the only time they're getting big numbers is international tournaments on free TV but when it comes to the domestic game they just aren't there. The international tournaments are just a spectacle that Joe public will sometimes get behind.
    I'm not saying women's football will never get consistently good numbers as change in constant but they will NEVER be able to compete with the men's game and if certain players accepted this reality the more we can progress

      I can't help that and the only high ratings women's football has gotten is from international finals which always pull big numbers regardless of what sport is on as the majority of people from every country love attaching their ego's to their countries when they compete against another country. It's why people will suddenly watch show jumping during the Olympics and then not watch it again until the next Olympics.
      In the UK at the moment to watch every Premiership match this seasons you need 4 different subscriptions which in itself is a joke but the women's Premiership... I don't know anyone who would want to pay a monthly fee to watch a standard of football that's lower than a boys youth team

It seem majorly of people who watched her fights, did so wanting to see her lose opposed to seeing her win. (Similar to Jake Paul)

      I was a fan of her's at first because she was awesome and like nothing seen before as far as Women's MMA. She also rebuked the whole 'women are inherent victims' nonsense. Then her ego got way too big and i was happy she got taken down a peg. MMA fans of today act like she was total trash though and only "beat up soccer moms" but that isn't true at all, better women fighters came along like they do in all sports

    I'm a big golf guy, play all the time and watch pro golf as much as I can. Women's golf is refreshingly different from other women's sports, the players don't complain about pay, or sexism, or the fans. They just go out and play, they handle their interviews professionally, and win big money.
    The reason it's different is because of the way female pro golfers get paid. On a traditional golf tour, you don't get paid to play, you get paid to either win or place high in the rankings. The winner of a tournament gets the largest prize, then the next 10 or so get increasingly smaller amounts, and those outside of that criteria get nothing. But they all have to pay their own expenses (travel, lodgings, food, transport), so in their minds, the way to get more money is to win more. They're not really worried about how many people are watching them, female golfers tend to be very modest and pleasant and not the type to feed off of attention. All they do is practice like crazy, play as many events as they can, and win as often as they can, and it's a ton of work. But when they win, they get high 6 - low 7 figure paydays. They're a totally different breed than women in other sports, and that's why it's worth watching and why a lot of men do.

    I’m pretty sure even pitcher mounds have been moved forward to allow for more hits, higher scores and more action.

    I watched the WNBA and I really tried to bite into it but the game is so damn slow. There is no chess play involved, you can see from far what they gonna run and you know that they have no counter if the main play doesn´t work. I´m so damn sure if they could keep their ego in check and would only allow to play on a FIBA sized court the game would be more energetic. Lowering the rim by only 15cm would expel their game and their earnings in the process.
    By the way, Delle Donna has a nice shoe on the market. You won´t regret buying it!

    Look at Megan R. When she signs the ball for the young, male fan. She doesn’t even look at the kid when she returns the ball. That sums up her attitude. Next, watch Rinaldo. Any questions?

    There are just a few female athletes like this, but they cast a shadow over their whole sport. Football (soccer) is a big example and Meghan Rapinoe is an example but here are others. It drives away fans from the sport which is sad. This isn’t sexism, this is stupidity.

    and what would be the most interesting part for me is always these people that are complaining about these women can be annoying and possibly even more annoying than them but they get to say their piece and be asses but they're never called into question when they say these things ...is it possible that they're jealous because they feel these people are more annoying than they are??? obviously they want their props too 😅😅😅
