- "Sunday Morning" didn't need a house band during the 22 years that Charles Osgood served as host; we had Charles, who was his own accompanist, on the piano or the banjo. In this report that originally aired September 25, 2016, correspondent Anthony Mason talked with Osgood about his musical proclivities.

I spent every Sunday morning at my grandparents house at the breakfast table while listening to Charles Osgood. Nothing is more comforting. ❤
They don't make them anymore like the great postive person. He will be dearly missed. God Bless him. R I.P. our Great American hero.
Perfectly expressed .
Thank you, Mr. Osgood, for sharing your many talents and demonstrating a life well lived. ☀️
Thank you CBS for continuing to highlight and share the many shining moments of Mr. Charles Osgood.
Sunday Morning became my favorite show after I started watching it as a child with my Dad, because of Charles Osgood & Charles Kuralt before him. Rest in peace, I will miss you.
I’ve connected with Charlie for decades and will miss him. Thank goodness we have video for our children to see great Americans in action. RIP
Rest in peace Charlie
Thank you
Absolutely fantastic. And unforgettable. Charles Osgood. And your infinitely moving tributes to him.
So love this gentle, brilliant journalist, musician..RIP Charlie ❤
Great he did a profile on Father of Rock N Roll Chuck Berry. Danced onstage with him and went to his memorial. Diverse love of American music indeed!
“As long as there are gallant men”
I l❤ve watching
Sunday Morning on CBS with Charlie Osgood!
It's so soothing to go through the show with Mr. Osgood's piano playing and hosting and singing voice.
Back row, 4th from the left in the Army Chorus is Ara Berberian, who went on to become a leading bass at the Met for years but always remained a good old regular guy just like his old buddy Charlie.
Wonderful tribute. Thank you!
Thank you Charlie, Godspeed 🙏🏼💚
I had forgotten how much I miss him on Sunday mornings
A true gallant man.
We love you Charlie!

For all you Amateur Radio Hams out there - on one of the 2M repeaters called "The Northeast Connect" had a station ID with a Recorded ID by Charlie who would come on once or twice an hour and say "From high upon Schnemunck Mountain, this is Charles Osgood, with the WB2BQW Repeater system. A Positive repeater with a 600 kilohertz offset, whatever that means." This was in the early 90's. It was always so cool to hear his recorded voice IDs on the repeater links! 73 Charlie DE N2ROF. If anyone has a tape of the ID please put up!
The Repeater was in Putnam or Dutchess County NY - north of NYC
May he #RIP! Can you upload some interviews that Charlie did, over the years, esp. his 22 years on CBS Sunday Morning, please?!
❤
