There was no one like Victor then, and there hasn't been anyone since. He was a comedy genius (unlike anyone else) who was able to combine that talent with his ability to play the piano like a maestro.

How do you NOT laugh? They must have done this in advance so she knew what was coming.
A number of times she lost it. That was until she got used to it, and then was able to maintain her composure. She nearly looses it in this vid, and one I have of them on DVD, she did lose it!! One performance my parents saw them at they had to stop the performance for 20 minutes because she had totally lost it.
She was such an amazing sport to do this with him. What a voice!

That is the reason why she could not look at him. There are many times you could see her tyting to control her laughter when she looked at him.
Although he played “jokingly” ...... the sound of the piano he produced is very beautiful... his touch so incredible ... Always love the late Victor Borge’s music .... and his jokes 👍

The best part about this is, even though this is Borge's show, and he keeps making her laugh, he never once upstages her in this piece. It's all a bit of fun but he still lets Mulvey shine.
My parents were instrumental in introducing Marilyn to Victor. My folks were good friends with George Weigl, Victor's retired Orchestral Director. Marilyn's parents contacted my folks to see if they could arrange a meeting, and all that resulted in all of them sitting down at a dinner. Victor was impressed, agreed to an audition, and the rest is history. He was looking for a talented musician who also had a sense of humor, who could play ""straight man" to Victor's comedy.
Two incredibly talented artists together on one stage. They just don’t make them like this anymore.
Marilyn has an unbelievable voice and Victor on the piano has an absolutely fantastic touch
This is why Victor Borge's comedy worked so well! Besides his comedic efforts he was a world-class pianist which only strengthens the comedy! No one would ever expect comedy associated with such graceful music! His act was truly one-of-a-kind!
I crack up every time I see Mr. Borge. This soprano has a lovely voice and is being such a good sport.
I saw Mr Borge LIVE more than once. Great pianist and good clean humor. Columbia,Ohio Veterans Memorial Auditorium, it's gone now too 😮🎉 Lovely evening of entertainment that was a Dress Up event ❤🎉
Wow she has a phenomenal voice! What discipline and range! Victor as usual is hilarious and added so much entertainment. You can definitely see his talent as a pianist the way he masters those ivories!

Always makes me laugh, but what a beautiful voice Marilyn Mulvey has.
He was a master, master pianist, performer, comedian, all of the above and in of the nth degree, and Mulvey, she was lovely, great range, classic operatic voice, oh yeah, she was ideal with him, wonderful chemistry and timing. It really is fun to watch them and appreciate their flawless talent!
And after that, she could have performed under any conditions you could imagine.
Borge brought classical to us deplorables by making fun of the more stodgy parts. As I've matured and come to realize that the Immortals rocked, I can imagine Them, jamming and hamming like this back in Their day!

Fantastic professionalism. The ability to for these two consummate musicians to interact in a jovial play while performing sophisticated music demonstrates their competence, personality and good heartedness. It was a joy to find this on CZcams and see how many others also love the experience thank you.
I've seen this in different settings a few times now & get a laugh each time! He's cheeky & she can sing very high, wow!!
Such a shame I wasn't born earlier to have enjoyed more of his live performances. I was only able to attend one of his live performances and it was the best live musical performance I have ever attended.
You can be in awe with a great pianist, violinist, cellist or any other musician, but when you listen what the human body can do, in this case the voice, the amazement is multiply ten times.

I never willingly missed Victor Borge on TV. People often overuse the word great, thus regulating it to the average person whose done well. Victor wasn't average. He was actually great.
What's more amazing is not only the jokes but that he can actually play so musically and so beautifully when he wants to!

I introduced my son to his talent and humor when my son was in elementary school. He is 28 years old today, and he still loves Victor Borge. We used to watch him together and laugh and laugh. What an amazing and talented man.

Anyone who played or sang with Borge was really brave and really good to handle his joyful pranks. I just watched an old Video Tape of mine, two days ago and ended a cheerless evening with great laughter.
Brilliant! No matter how many times I see this - AND any Victor Borge - I howl with laughter. When I was a kid in the 60s I used to listen to Victor Borge - and many other comedians - on radio.
I remember watching him as a child and looked forward to every note and piece of skullduggery he pulled. Maestro.

I have several DVDs of Victor Borge's work and I love the man and his talent. This clip, though, I've never seen and I missed quite a bit of it because I was laughing so hard I was crying.
