      @BobandBrad 1 week back I had got clot while doing reverse lounge exercise after jogging for 10 mins and sprinting for 20 seconds.. I didn’t realise it was so severe. I heard a popping sound and followed by muscle cramp. But next 2 days instead of taking good rest I walked a lot, 18000 steps a day which made the situation worse. The whole quadriceps area turned redish and now looks like some sort of blistering rashes. This brought me here. Could you please advice

    Thank you for sharing, couple years ago my husband was only 36 and he had a blood clot, not to mention he has high blood pressure, high cholesterol, but the doctor said just to wear compression stockings, long long story short, he kept complaining about pain in his calf so he changed physicians, and he found the blood clot.

      I have strong bones, but they separated my sternum from my ribs.
      My sternum broke through my chest and I had a big hole in my skin.
      The doctor said I was fighting them and multiple nurses had to restrain me.
      I only remember waking up wondering why I was in a state of pain.
      They gave me opioids for pain.
      I can see how people get hooked on them.
      Thankfully I didn’t get addicted.

      Same goes for me... but I'm not pregnant. A quarter of my bodyweight is thanks to my grossly swollen legs, both, legs. I was diagnosed with Lymphoedema 2 years ago last month. I haven't been back to clinic since, because they sent me home with ill-fitting stockings and Diprobase lotion which I rub in several times per day to stop the skin drying out... which it did, because when I get legions, they won't heal over. I have an appointment next Tuesday 20 July 2021, no thanks to the pandemic world situation. I'm hoping they won't diagnose blood clots with me, because I have experienced a lot of stiffness and cramping and charlie horses where the knees lock with sudden movements in recent months. My ankles are very red and sore just at the point in my calves where the swelling starts.

    If you suspect a clot don't wear flight socks before your on the medication, don't massage it, don't walk or stand or sit for long periods or at all if possible. Keep your leg up as much as possible and get to the hospital. Massaging or tight clothes can break the blood clot up and it can travel to the lungs or heart and pulmonary embolism can be fatal

    If you are in any doubt as to whether you have a DVT you really must get a D-Dimer blood test and Ultrasound. I went to the hospital with calf pain - but exhibited pretty much none of the other classic DVT symptoms, other than marginal swelling, and I had didn't really have any of the classic risk factors (other than having had an operation on my thumb a few weeks previously). Ultrasound confirmed I had a massive clot in my thigh. I'm on anti coagulants for life but my lifestyle as an active sports participant hasn't been affected.

    • @SweetStuffOnMonarchLane
      @SweetStuffOnMonarchLane Před 2 lety +4

      D-Dimer is not a good indicator of blood clots... it can be another piece of the puzzle, but D-Dimer lab value can be high due to many different things, and people with normal D-Dimer can have blood clots also. Ultrasound is best.

    Does blood flow restriction bands cause blood clots?… I had them tightened on a perceived tightness of 7/10, only had them tightened for MAXIMUM of 15 minutes for each exercise I was doing, etc…. But I was walking around a gem show and I got a terrible cramp in my left hip, which is the exact spot I wore the BFR bands on….and it’s gotten a little better but that aching feeling is still there after almost a week… there’s no redness, no warm feeling on the skin, no swelling (that I can tell), it’s just feels like a sore muscle all along the hip muscle… it’s not getting worse, but it’s also not getting a ton better after a week since that terrible cramp at the gem show I want to.
    I am 22 years old with no insurance, and don’t have enough money for treatment…. So I am really worried. Thank you for you guys’ help.

    Past couple years I've been getting varicose veins really bad in my left leg. I've had a lot of trouble with my knee and I just found out I need to have it replaced but I'm having an awful lot of pain in my calf of my leg. Never like before because I've had knee surgery before. So I went and saw

    I have not watched this video, but I will also tell you what DVT is. DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a very serious condition in which a blood clot (thrombus) is lodged inside the deep veins of the lower extremities, and can go through your veins to the heart and block the pulmonary artery, preventing blood from going to pick up oxygen in the lungs. Symptoms can include sharp pain in your legs, swelling and redness. However, it can also be a symptomatic until it gets very serious. The only way to prevent DVT is to do circulation exercises such as Isometric Quads Contraction, because it increases that blood flow:

    I'm a personal trainer and this happened to me a few years ago.
    I thought I had a strained calf muscle and massaged the heck out of it over a few days. I ended up driving myself to the hospital because I was having a lot of pain taking deep breaths and pain in my ribcage. When they scanned my lungs, they found multiple clots in both lungs. They said it looked like I got shot with a shotgun. Apparently, all the messaging I did broke up a clot in my left calf resulting in a bilateral pulmonary embolism.

      I had the same, wondered why my right calf was rock solid. I have muscular calves and had been doing stuff at the gym for my legs, but I was surprised at how concrete like my right calf was becoming. At the same time I noticed I was getting out of breath waking up a flight of stairs I've walked up every day for 10 years and would normally not even been remotely out of breath. Just thought I was becoming unfit for some unknown reason. After a few weeks I went on the treadmill and burst into a cold sweat just after walking for 60 seconds , it felt like a heart attack to me. But I thought there's no way ut can be that. So I Sat down and composed myself and later that night I had a pain in my left side which felt like trapped wind. After a few hours it began to feel like a knife in my side. Drove to AE and thought they would tell me I had some chest infection. Turns out I had pnuemonia with bi lateral clots, lots of them, and they told me if I had went to bed that night, which I was on the verge of doing, I would probably not have woken up ever again. I made it in just in time, I was a fit non smoking man in.his 40s with no heath issues. I was lucky, the pain from pnuemonia saved my life and prompted me to go to hospital. Clots can gather away and you won't even know it. Never ignore any kind of change in your breathing , always go get it checked. I wouldn't have ran to hospital and initially didn't, but knowing what I know now, dont assume you're becoming unfit overnight, pay close attention to any changes. That's the best advice I can give. I knew about strokes, heart attacks etc, but I knew little about lung clots, they are something to watch out for.

    • @BigJDinSC
      @BigJDinSC Před 2 lety +1

      I've been a trainer for over 30 years, specializing in corrective exercise for athletes and orthopedic injuries. Here's what I found to work best in almost everyone with TFL/ITB issues:
      1) Roll out the IT band (do NOT lay on a roller!). Use "the stick" massager, a rolling pin or lacrosse ball.
      2) stretch the quads (high and low) - 30 - 60sec per stretch
      3) fire the glutes with bridging (double leg first, then progress to single leg; keep low-abs engaged) - 1 set × 10 - 15 reps
      * do the above in close proximity and in that 1, 2, 3 order. Repeat the series 3×. Make sure to do this PRE & POST workout. Can be done every day unless glutes are particularly sore from previous workouts. If so, at least roll out the ITB and stretch the quads.

      @BigJDinSC Před 2 lety +1

      @@logandailey863 effectively stretching the ITB/TFL is very challenging and, based on my experience, the self-myofacial release has produced much better results for the time/effort put in.
      NOTE: when rolling out the ITB, go very slow and put as much pressure on as you can take WITHOUT flexing your quads against the pain. VERY important to keep your quads relaxed (that's why I advise against laying on a foam roller for ITB stretching; EVERYONE flexes their quads when laying on the ITB).

It’s still that way now but it’s not quite as painful you think it’s possible that’s could be a clot? Maybe there was no bacterial infection because there was no cut or scrapes or anything visible on my foot and I’ve been diagnosed for cellulitis before recently. I sit in my truck For half the day driving usually so I’m always sitting up and the pressure on my thigh from the seat will give me pain every once in a while cause cramping last couple days. I’ve had excruciating cramping in that same area that is super sore now I can’t touch and those cramps lasted for like 30 minutes. just wanted your opinion if you think I should go back to the ER and tell him something different is going on.

    Clots have many names, you should go through them with your audience.
    A stroke is a clot, clots kill lots.
    Blood thinners, aspirin immediately will help, I've had a pulmonary embolism
    that started in my right leg and moved to the saddle between my lungs
    and was hospitalized for 3 days. Xeralto is great but is expensive and is SUPPOSED
    to go generic soon. Blood thinners should be cheaper and easier to get.
    My leg pain was very localized but I didn't know what it was and ignored it, big mistake.
    I was 62 at the time.
    Cod Liver oil/fish oil (lemon flavor is a must) is an excellent thinner as well, 1TBS a day
    An aspirin a day as well.

      If someone with clots takes an aspirin or garlic, can’t that break the clot up or loosen it and cause it to spread??

    Why is it that I don't see anyone pointing out how odd it is that so many videos about blood clots in the legs were made in 2022? Does no one else on YT find the timing of that a bit strange?

    I just came back from the 12 hour flight from my home country of Ireland to Orlando, Florida. I also suffer from lupus and my left leg has been killing me and I have a bruise there from when I was in a really bad car accident in 2020 but the bruising that was there has gotten so much worse, I don't know what to do I have no Health Insurance. I could set up also have lupus and I have a vascular necrosis. I have don't know what flow going. I need to stop crying. I have no blood flowing going to my hips. And I know I don't have much longer. But nobody will help me along. With going through a really nasty divorce. Where my husband was trying to poison me. And all kinds of stuff still at home. We lived in for nearly 34 years. I know I just came back from a long trip and I did it on my own. And I went upstairs and everything. Because I'm a fighter humming. I'm afraid of dying not dying. But I'm afraid of being found dead for days or weeks. Cause nobody cares about me not even my twenty eight year old twins it's disgraceful
