    I'm actually thinking about getting that exact mower as my secondary mower for the smaller properties I do...not quite ready yet this year but eventually I'll run 2 mowers lol

    I know on the lazer z the Kawasaki engine on the dip stick its says not to turn it onto the threads just to basically let it drop down then check the oil . But may be different on your exmark but just wanted to tell you it will be written on dip stick. Good vid

    You need to use oil designed for air cooled engines like air cooled motorcycles do.

    So do you recommend getting this mower with the exmark engine because there is a nice price difference between the kawi!

      I have equipment with the Kawasaki engine tried-and-true! I was skeptical on the Exmark 708 CC it does fine as long as you keep up the maintenance, I look at the oil if it starts getting real dark based on ambient temperatures and how hard i run it, time to change it with the air filter. It might be overkill for some but the way I look at it, this machine is making me 💰 I better take care of it.✌️

    My oil drain tube is stuck onto the nipple, any hacks to get it off of the nipple without breaking things?

    • @the_atomic_punk487
      @the_atomic_punk487 Před 16 dny +1

      If anyone is wondering, I was able to get it off while lightly prying with a screw driver and twisting the tube, while the engine was warm.

    Help: Is the top of the drain tube, where it plugs up onto the nib, Is it just a cap at top of the tube, or does oil need to flow through it?

    • @oakwoodlawnmaintenancellc.1093
      @oakwoodlawnmaintenancellc.1093  Před 2 lety +1

      The engine shroud is the cap for the tube. Oil does not flow until you lower the tube down to drain the oil

      @@oakwoodlawnmaintenancellc.1093 - Thank you. That's good so since the nib, that the draIn tube fits onto broke off, I can just put a removable plug in the top of the drain tube.

      @oakwoodlawnmaintenancellc.1093  Před 2 lety +2

      @Gene Metz That is correct; from what I understand, that is a common problem. Some type of plug wi[th a little hose clamp should work fine.

    lol another video which shows how easy things are. tried to change oil for my first 5 hour change on the 708 and the tube would not come off, unlike this video which shows it just popping off in 2 seconds. manual says twist and pull down. I could not, then used a vice grip, but not hard as I could, afraid I'll break the plastic piece which holds it on top of engine. never had a harder time changing oil in any of my previous zero turns or power equipment. heard good things about exmark, cuts good, but what a piece of junk. I guess I'll have to break a plastic piece off the top of engine and buy a plug for end of tube. wonder if exmark dealers sell them at 900% mark up?

    • @TheYamahog12
      @TheYamahog12 Před 2 lety +1

      That just happened to me. All went fine with the break-in oil change. This time I twisted and pulled and it broke right off. Now I have to find something to plug it.

    Fram is the worst filter you can use by far. Also use the oil recommended by your exmark dealer. Which would be Kawasaki oil if they know what they’re doing. That engine needs that oil
