They were nasty towards the Ogdens. After accusing Stan of being a Peeping Tom, I'm surprised Hilda and Stan didn't move. None of them were true friends until Eddie Yates came along.
Yeah Eddie Yeats was a good friend to the Ogdens
Eddie was a fellow outcast...lovely character. (The old tinkers had moved on by the time Eddie came - he brought the show into the 1970s.)
@@saxongreen78 He did!
There's the rebel in Emily we've seen over the years. Well done Emily
Bit of trivia for you, the actress who plays the stripper Vicky is the mom of Sam and Dan Houser who created Rockstar video games and are now worth over 150 million.
Random bit of trivia - the actress who played Vicki, the stripper, went on in real life, to have two sons, Sam and Dan Houser, the two men behind Rockstar Games (Grand Theft Auto among others).
Chris Hine She was also in Get Carter with Michael Caine, playing a similar role., she’s 74 now.
1970 80s 90 best era of corrie
60s, 70s 80s and early 90s.
Jim Morrison yeah
1960s, 1970s, early 1980s in my opinion.
60s too - have been enjoying the 60s episodes so much, but have to say, very pleasantly surprised by these early 70s episodes. Really loving them. The community centre gave them a lot of scope re situations - what happened to it?
60 and 70s that’s where it ends.
Paul Freeman's character asking Emily Bishop if she was ever in the stripper game herself. 😄
The Ogdens house was always clean..that was a cheap shot Ken
Not according to Norma later on. According to her the house WAS a pigsty-encouraging mice. Sorry, I’m with the others.
@@alexanderjones9572 Buckingham Palace has mice, so what's your point?
@@gilliangrant8764 Probably not right next door to a shop, tho, where there’s food.
Albert going hill climbing was stretching it a bit at nearly 80 !!
I was born in 1974 but sometimes I find it hard to believe anything existed before I was born so this almost seems to be not even real.
Happy Happy Happy 😊
It always surprised me how mean they would be against the always funny Ogdens. People that would be outraged by others looking down on them as working class, being nasty to a couple that they think is lower class than they are. It is accurate, but sad, how hypocritical folk are.
Replaced by Brexit!
Why does Elsie hate the Ogdens so much?
It's pathetic. The Ogdens aren't bad or nasty people at all.
@@geenasmith7209 because hilda was horrible to her
It's an unpleasant trait amongst some working class people to think themselves superior to others who are actually part of the same social group.
How I love this show. Even modern Corrie although I enjoy the classic episodes more!
Really curious why the writers turned Albert into such a nasty man. I enjoyed him in the 60s
People get like that when they get old - fatty
I never liked Albert= surprised he lasted so long.
Getting older I guess.
It seems Ena went the opposite way, still formidable but a bit more easy going and compassionate at times.
But it what makes him a great character!
Alf Roberts was also in Get Carter. The strip club manager was in Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Some stars in this: Nag's Head Mike before he was a landlord and Justin Lee Collins as the blue photographer.
They were all really rotten to Stan and Hilda. Hilda's home was a palace compared to some on that street.
The health inspector is Mike from the Nag's Head. Also, did anyone notice Derek Conway from The Bill at 1:25?
How did you spot him? 😀 Derek Conway was my favourite character in The Bill. 😀👍
Wow he looks different especially in the face. Love that show the bill.
The actor Ben Roberts, only graduated from drama school in 1978. This guy looks older than 22? Does look like him though.
10/10
Dear Auntie Corrie 2, please can you possibly upload episode 1572 (I have longed to see for many a year) it’s from 16th February 1976. I have a strong childhood memory of it, it’s where Stan sets light to his broken tv in his back yard? In a misguided attempt to claim insurance for it. Many thanks 🙏 I’m loving all the other episodes uploaded & am really grateful to see them again. 👍🏼
Hi - I think you mean 1574 Feb 16, 76. And sorry, no have :)

Terry settles into working at the Yard. Len talks
Rita into showing Donna the Kabin flat as
premises for her Salon, to get a £500 deposit
off her so they can return it to Alf. Ray meets
Donna. When she tells him about her plans he
considers getting Blanche to sell her the
house. The TV repair man realises the TV was
dropped and refuses to touch it. Donna tells
Len about the Langton's plan. Betty tells Stan
about a friend who's TV caught fire and was
replaced by the rental people. Rita tells Donna
she wants £3,500 for her flat. Stan sets light to
the TV with lighter fuel but goes too far.
Auntie Corrie2 oh I see, thanks so much for your reply & keep up the great work in uploading these classics for us all to enjoy. Best wishes!! 🙏👍🏼
@@auntiecorrie2787 I’m from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania in America 🇺🇸. And found this show a couple of weeks ago and been watching this far the start. Love Britain 🇬🇧 tv shows. You did a great thing to bad there wasn’t more. I hope you do other shows from the beginning like this. Thanks 🙏
It's too bad they didnt keep Mr. Slade. He seemed like a pretty interesting fellow.
The northern way of counting sheep. Yan, Tyan, Tethera, Methera, Pimp, Sethera, Lethera, Hovera, Covera, Dick.......
The thing I found amusing with Emily Bishop she always looked out of place and socially awkward. Especially when she got into situations like photographing strippers.
I thought it was a good idea to have her in corrie, her and mavis as not everyone is supper confident like most the other characters where.
.
What a stinker Albert is, but funny as hell🤣😂
Not what you’d expect from an old soldier! If Jerry had been an army colleague, and Albert had gone back to the barracks and left him in No Man’s Land-disciplinary!
Mike from only fools and horses
It Ain't Half Hot Mum.
George Webb in Brookside.
Tatloff is going to go too far one of these days! Wait, I think he just did! Jerry just needs to use his head and next time they hike get him to pose on a precipice and just keep telling him to move back!
Awwwe, Albert in his short pants!!?
that barman pours a great pint 24:01
At 6:40 where is that at? That’s a beautiful place and great scenery.
The Pennine Way - a beautiful walk.

50 guineas!😂😂😂
That was the more traditional way of paying professional tradesman when the sum was over a certain amount, usually for art, livestock etc. A guinea was worth £1, 1 shilling. Thats the same as £1.05 in modern money. It was considered more gentlemanly to pay that way as a round £1 was considered coarse. It was traditional to pay barristers in guineas, then the shillings were given to their clerks. The extra shilling on the guinea was used for tipping the payees help usually.
