Minnie Caldwell is funny!' I just wanted to watch the film again to see whether the end was the same!'😂😂
Love this classic episodes in full, excellent upload, very enjoyable viewing, TY! 👍
Laid up with a bad back on sofa wasant in the right frame of mind to deal with the pain in retrieving the remote control and this episode pop up on CZcams followed by others , I wasant even born until 85 still it's rather good
18:50 Oh my days - Norris Cole with an Italian accent! Hilarious how Corrie re-cycled the same actors for different roles - it was like a touring theatre company!
glamdolly20 he was Spanish
@@paulmajor8865 Lol! Just saw this reply - doesn't say much for his accent!
Bet's poster of Steve McQueen on the wall, I had a huge crush on him in the 70s.
After watching Buggernation Street, 70s Corrie will never be the same again.
I agree, they nailed Jerry and Ray's voices....😅
Minnie ( about the film) ‘Well, I wanted to see if it were still the same. After all these years, it might’ve come out different.’ I watch ‘A Christmas Carol’ every Christmas, and after all his promises the previous year, Scrooge still goes back to being a mean old miser before the following Christmas.
Len was always a tight fisted, Chauvenistic pig, not forgetting falling out the ugly tree and hitting every branch on the way down.
He reminded me of a warthog.
I agree, it's unbelievable
And all these good looking women were supposed to fall at his feet. I don’t think they might could’ve got anybody better looking for that part.
Tomato sauce with Chinese? Len seemed to force a kiss out of bet.
The soldier later played tony Jason’s grimshaws dad
I was only 8 when this was on tv 😁 never knew Len and bet were together. Makes me feel Ill watching them kiss ha ha. I recently seen one episode where bet was with Eddie Yates!!! Also never knew Billy was going to marry Deidre. I thought she was always with Ray 😁
🙄🙄🙄
Was the episode where Bet was with Eddie the one where the police turned up at the end to take him back to prison?
I wish Deirdre had married Billy or Mike Baldwin.
Anyone but Ken!
Blanche and Annie Walker planning a wedding. Annie met her match!
Wow what a great episode. I didn't know Eddie Yates was in the show this early - I thought his debut was in the episodes when him and his jailbird pal break into Elsie's house to kip overnight, thinking the house is unoccupied (I think 1976?) Funny to see Len copping off with Bet, I knew they had a romantic history but I'd never seen it. They don't convince me as a couple at all! How that toad-faced dwarf attracted the most glamorous women in the Street - Bet, Rita and Elsie, God only knows! Thanks for this fabulous episode. XXX
Thanks Tilly. Wow I could have sworn Eddie debuted in 1976. So when he left for a new life with Marion beginning of 1984 he had actually done a decade in the show - I guess this sheds light on why he was ready to leave. It always puzzled me why Geoffrey Hughes left Britain's top soap/TV show, and especially at that particular time, when Eddie Yates was set to be promoted to a major character after the deaths/exits of major cast members such as Stan, Elsie, Len, Ena, Uncle Albert, Annie and Bert circa 1983/84. I read that Granada threw money at him to persuade him to stay, (I imagine they must have been very worried about the loss of such a big chunk of lead actors), but Geoffrey Hughes was ready for pastures new. Plus, it's said he didn't like Eddie's marriage storyline, and felt the character should have been an eternal bachelor. I've waffled on, as I tend to do where Corrie's concerned! Ta again for the info. X
@@glamdolly30 Is it possible Eddie left the show in 84 to do Onslow in Keeping Up Appearances? I don't know when that show began airing...
1990
@@kleverkloggs Thank you.
he was in R and H deceased 1969 -ish,@Snarzell 1975
Poor Bet...
Gimme a pair of scissors and let me at Ray Langton's God awful mop top!!
Bet was gorgeous in the early to mid 1970s. No way in hell she would want to hook up with somebody like Eddie Yeats in real life. Eddie was punching well above his weight with Bet.
Len had something charming about him though.
I was a week old when this aired, lol..
Brill. Just brill.
6:47 Bet's talking to Len about Majorca or Costa Brava and Len thinks they are in Jamaica!
Poor Bet, she had no pride..looking for love in all the wrong places!!@
Omg it’s Norris 😂
Eddie to Albert....Bonsewor Monshiyeri..🤣🤣
Alan Igbon with a proper Afro, pre-Blackstuff.. now how does this develop?
my dads 12th bday and my mam was born 4 days later lol
Now I really feel ancient, I was 20 at the time
Yikes i was 15
They really should have brought Billy Walker back for a guest appearance at Deirdre's funeral in 2015. Not just because he was engaged to her for several months, but because he tried to get back together with her in his return appearances after they broke up their engagement too. Of course it's also possible the actor wasn't available, but I think more than likely the idea wasn't even considered.
Don't think he's done anything since 2006
Its hard to watch Len Fairclough after what the real man got charged
Women given an amorous scene with Len seemed to dread it, while he took full advantage in a sleazy way, forcing them inappropriately.
I think you're projecting your own sleazy mind onto all of them there. If he's given amorous scenes to do, what's he supposed to do? Refuse? You'll be accusing him of bestiality next, no doubt. Pity the mind cannot be reached with a bar of soap.
@stevenhighams4190 chill your beans, he's totally sleazy and he was charged with some pervy child molesting stuff not long after this. He's an absolute creep and it shows right here
It's weird how on TV and in movies the women look half decent but the men they go after are really ugly idiots
Bet says about Len having to ‘creep out into the cold, cold snow.’ I wasn’t alive in 1975, but did it really snow in March then?
Yeah, can remember snow at Easter years back
We had snow this march too 😅
What in hell is Len doing with Bette?
That pakastani guy was one of Corrie's greatest actors.
I didn’t see any Pakistani guy in this episode.
Julie Goodyear did NOT enjoy that kiss....
No, she didn't....he forced himself on her...🤮
What happened that led to the cancellation of this wedding?
I believe Ray came clean about how he felt and Deirdre just canceled it to marry Ray.
Deirdre got cold feet, then she was mortified when Billy did too and left for Jersey.
Who didnt Bet have in the street
Don’t think she ever got together with Albert Tatlock.
Ken Barlow
Alf
@@alexanderjones9572Bert and Jack.
Alf, Stan, Alan, Ernest, Ken, Fred, Billy, Dave Smith, Ray, Jerry, Terry Bradshaw, Steve Fisher, Eddie didn't really 'have' her... Julie Goodyear was right, Bet was virginal compared to most of the female characters in recent times. Maria, Tracey... now everyone has those two!
