Hi Andyrc - As a teenager l used to make 'em and break 'em, model planes. In those days power was supplied by a small diesel engine and l constantly stunk of diesel fuel. As a genuine 'Golden Oldie' (81 years young) l decided to take up model flying once again. Your review and usage video clip was just what the doctor ordered. Such detailed explanatory comments made your clip so easy to understand. Best by far of any other clips on the internet, many thanks for your efforts.

Awesome Review. Very thorough. Some very funny spots too that had me rolling on the floor... "Who would ever uses this feature?" "Oh, here's that feature. let's plug it in and see what it does..." Classic.
I found your review after I finished reading the manual and found the manual insufficient. I really liked your review, and I actually like the PC app. I paused your video, downloaded the app, and and started playing with it as soon as you got to that part in your video, and saw how easy and powerful it could be. Duplicate of the device menu... Yeah, sure. All in one place, point-n-click... Oh yeah.
Keep it up. Like the style.

After hours of internet research and CZcams video reviews I purchased the SKYRC IMAX B6AC v2 ac/dc dual power professional balance charger/discharger through the Walmart website for $54. I had two Black & Decker Firestorm 24 volt NICD batteries that would not charge correctly on the original Firestorm charger for four cordless power tools (hammer drill, circular saw, jigsaw and reciprocating saw). I had very few hours used on those power tools and was about to get rid of them because the batteries were dead, and new batteries were too expensive, and wasn't sure if my Firestorm charger was defective. I found one video explaining weight of 630? grams for the official SKYRC charger (not fake or clone version), and that's the SKYRC charger I purchased (the ones weighing less are the fake ones and usually cost less). My SKYRC charger also had the big air holes on the bottom of the charger, as well as the hologram verification sticker which you can verify through the SKYRC website. Very pleased to know this BEFORE I made my online purchase. When my package arrived and I opened the box (it was a white box with a picture of the blue charger, with black and red lettering on the box), I checked for the big air holes on the bottom of the charger and the hologram sticker. It's handy to have a multi-meter voltage tester (mine is from Harbor Freight) to test battery voltages (which I had been doing before purchasing the SKYRC charger). DON'T HOLD THE WIRES ON THE BATTERY TOO LONG, THE WIRES MAY GET EXTREMELY HOT! Before hooking up the SKYRC charger to my dead Firestorm batteries, battery #1 was at 6 volts, and battery #2 was at 1.5 volts. I was able to use a cell phone usb charger cable to connect the SKYRC charger to my laptop computer, then I went to the SKYRC.COM website and searched for Charge Master v2.02_0901 and downloaded that file, then got the free RAR unzipping app (wherever you can find that, mine was found on Microsoft's website) to unzip that file. Run the install program, go to your desktop and double-click the ChargeMaster icon, and wow! Before downloading and updating the firmware for the SKYRC charger I already charged both near-dead Firestorm 24 volt batteries with success (battery #1 charged to 27 volts and I stopped the charging process manually, and battery #2 charged to 20.5 volts and the SKYRC charger stopped charging automatically saying "max charge complete" or something similar). I kept a close eye on the charger when doing this because I'm a novice at this stuff. Sorry for the wordiness, but it beats viewing hours and hours of youtube. In short, BUY THE SKYRC IMAX B6AC V2 AC/DC DUAL POWER PROFESSIONAL BALANCE CHARGER/DISCHARGER! It will save you so much time, money and aggravation. READ THE MANUAL, VIEW THE CZcams VIDEOS TOO!

thx for the vid, informative for numerous of this class of chargers..my own 3s charger (was an 2s/3s cheapo that comes with the hisky RTF hmx280 just went up in smoke with some sparkling to attend to the show)..so are now in the search for an new charger ' an looking for best relative low-budget-buy so fare' here as of 2q 2016.. I have.sofare landed on two SKyRC product, both with pc-interface and seperate scratch-sticker.. since this doesnt seems to be much present on the clones .... but Its the SkyRC B6mini for 27US shipped pc-interf. and its the SkyRC S60 to 37US shipped (the S60model is limited to only max of 4S but also pc-interface)....The lack of inbuild AC is prefered ' so I can suit it up with a good quality AC-DC adapter that most households got in bunches from old stuff, and also here in my home.. got way to many and would be ideel to take advantage of the Amps with good seperate AC-DC adapter..Do you got an view on these two 11-18DC and 60w&6Amodels or any other that make more sense here in RC2016..sofare I dont really see any gain on the SkyRC S60 to 37US in regards to the SkyRC B6mini to 27US.. pretty much same specs, only the lach of numerous balance ports on the S60model..anyway thx for any feedback.. :-)

Awesome explanation. I recently left my Avionic lipo charger unattended and when I returned back home battery was exploded, charger was burnt and I was completely shocked. This time gonna try b6av v2 and I see it's made out of aluminium which is a good thing because it will not catch fire like the plastic body. As I am running out of money I am gonna fly virtual quad (Drl simulator) .

Do I need to adjust any kind of settings on this charger for "storage" battery setting? You said that it is a good setting at 3.8 ish volts per cell for storage. 3.3 for when the battery is critically low. And fully charged its around 4.2v per cell. Does this charger automatically know that 3.8v per cell is a regular setting or it is something I have to do myself?

Thanks Andy, I brought one. Just wondering what the bar graph looks like after a full charge ? If its just a straight line, start to finish or it's showing actual charge over time ? I'd imagine it would change as the lipo warms up and factors unbeknowns, don't know. The PC link would be good for less wear on the buttons over the years of use or if one should fail. Thanks bro :-)

I’m thinking of building a custom data logging module for this charger but I’m a bit thrown off by their use of a non-standard cable if this is the case.

Your review will be much better if you review the SKYRC B6AC V2 rather than comparing what you are reviewing to the old toy-like chargers of your yester years. This suggestion will be good for your future reviews..

Great video...much appreciated!!!! Can you use this charger to charge LiHV batteries? I didn't see LiHV listed as an option on the charger or the PC UI....but I saw it as an option on the phone app? What is the dealio? Maybe you can just set the charge/cell to be 4.35Vs? I'm guessing...can you confirm if that's right? I really need to know because I've got some LiHV batteries and need to make sure this charger can charge LiHV batteries.
    Thanks in advance.

I thi k battery temperature is very important! If your battery gets to hot while it's charging it could destroy it, or maybe you have the wrong settings and you could catch it early enough before it causes any damage!??

Quick question why do you have to plug the xt60 in as well as the balance lead? I’m really confused about it

You always need to plug in the balance leads and the other connector off your lipo when charging.

During charging there's a reading in the bottom right of the display, it slowly counts up basically. What does it mean?

Rick Britton, Thank you your review was very helpful , please don't think I'm a dummy, but I seem to over think and try to hard. My question is I'm going to be a new drone owner, I bought 2 different drones on 4-17-20 I bought a autel evo 11 bundle and I bought the Fimi se 2020, I bought a separate battery for the Fimi and then I saw the cable to charge two batteries, so I assumed that I needed a charger to be able to do that, so I purchased the charger, I know enough that the batteries are expensive, and I'm not for sure if the Fimi batteries are smart batteries I don't think they are, so I'm hopping that I will be able to discharged them the same, and also be able to charge them correctly at the same time. Please let me know if I purchased the right charger. Thank you and God bless you and your family

    Hi,
I find this very helpful; I am now in my 50s and moved to vaping. I know there are li-ion Nir lipo etc batteries, I bought one of these devices after watching your video,
As I stated I wanted to use mine for my vape batteries, molicel 18650 lithium ion and 21700 molicel batteries.
But I am so confused because to charge lithium ion I only see people charging lithium lipo not ion, so what setting for lithium ion or known as li-ion 18650 molicel or am I getting confused a little here? help please,

This may be a silly question, but I have a Hosim 9125 truck that came with 2 batteries and 2 USB chargers. What is the benefit or difference of having this charger? I can charge both of my batteries at the same time using a USB hub. Obviously all of the voltage and amperage info is great, but do I need it? Full disclosure - I just got my IMAX V2, but I'm just wondering if I really need it!
