Well you can go budget tools, second hand, just hand tools and it will come out that you don't need thousands of pounds. But hey better to have an "excuse" and do nothing right😅 we all started somewhere and 90% of people didn't start with fully kitted workshops 👍

Great project.
In a clamp I built, I used a regular hex head bolt at the end of the handle, so I can tighten with any wrench or even a power driver 🙂
