Just found subscribed and liked your channel. We also have a 9 inch ford rear in our 55. Its from a 69 fairlane and is one inch narrower drum to drum than the stock 55 rear end. I relocated the rear springs in line with the frame and can get a 10 inch slick to fit without altering the wheel wells. We have video of the 55 on our channel.
I have to say, out of all the youtube videos on this subject, you tackled it in the smartest way possible. No point pulling out the entire pinion gear assembly and sticking it on a vise. Makes no sense absolutely.... Does the crush sleeve come out like that on a 1978 Ford 9 inch ? Did you reuse the same bearing you took out ???
