On this video I install all new suspension for my 55 Chevy project. I was going to rebuild the stock suspension, but after failed attempts to press the old bushings I went with tubular arm and coil over set from CPP. This will fit the build much better, since I place to track the car.

Good video. Obviously you have a good check book! ;) Probably single too! ;) What engine/trans are you installing?? My 56 will have the 427 BB back in it.. I am married, 50+ years, so I 'rebuild' a lot of stuff rather than buy new. ;) Have fun, and looking forward to your next video.
One of my biggest mistakes was selling my pristine pro street 55 Chevy with 454. Ugh…. >smacks head<
I dig your stuff! I’m working on a 68 Firebird LS/5 speed swap and noticed you had one too! I’m Westside in Peoria
I’m curious though, why an LS over the SBC? I have an SBC in my 54 and I just can’t think of many benefits of the LS.
It’s always drama when building a 70 year old hotrod!
Great vid man, you deserve more followers!
Best comment ever! I appreciate it thanks 🤙🏽
What kind of welder do you use for your builds
I have a Lincoln sp135 plus, it’s an older model. 110v mig welder. I use solid welding wire with gas for the best results, 🤙🏽
I just acquired a 1955 Nomad “project”. I think the guy who did this quarter panel work on your car did the lower front quarters (both sides) on mine. They cut patches from some junkyard car and welded (if you can call it that) them in. It’s all going to have to come out.
Man, sorry to hear that, think this was common practice before major production of replacement panels, or just lazy and cheap lol. Good luck with your project, hope it works out 🤙🏽
Just get her on the road and the little things will happen later 😊
Man I am a new subscriber I came across your videos doing my research for my 4 door 1955 bel air! It’s basically stock still got the 235 in there but planning on my 350 motor and transmission swap. Still gathering my thoughts but I’m loving your videos and build! 👍🏼🙏🏼
Can you list the ls swap parts you used on the 55? Awesome videos!
I have to say, out of all the youtube videos on this subject, you tackled it in the smartest way possible. No point pulling out the entire pinion gear assembly and sticking it on a vise. Makes no sense absolutely.... Does the crush sleeve come out like that on a 1978 Ford 9 inch ? Did you reuse the same bearing you took out ???
Thanks on update. Sucks on rash of bad luck. Yes ATF is super flammable when it’s a mist. Hope to hear it running again👍🏻
was there any issues using the 4l80E transmission as far as firewall tunnel clearance..
No issues, although I did trim the pinch weld on the tunnel, that’s the only thing I’ve modified
Updates????
What wheels are you running? I have a 56 and am trying to determine what size and back spacing to use. Your 55 has the stance I'm looking for. Killer look!!
Awesome
Awesome job, gonna be a sweet ride
Totally Rad !!!
What yr 6.0 did you put in? Is it better to go with a gen 3 or 4? I’m eventually doing a similar swap. Thanks
What size rim and tires are you currently using? I like the look 😊
Looking great man, i am in the valley of the sun too, I'd like to know the name of the company you're talking about for the custom battery trays?
Thank you, I’m actually making my own cables now, the tray I found in Amazon, a universal billet
Another great video dude! Editing on this one is really good!
Beautiful! It’s coming along boss. Can’t wait for more
Thank you!! 🤙🏽
Should have jack stands underneath it especially if your going under brother. I would hate for something to happen to ya bro. Much love from Maryland❤❤❤
rad!
My dad has a ford maverick for sale if you want to buy it Kevin
Might be interested, send me a message on it
👍🏻🍺
Cool build. Love 55's
Thanks for watching!
Keep up the good work bro. 😊
Thank you bro I appreciate it! 🤙🏽
Looks great can’t wait to hear it fire👍🏻
Same! Going to be real fun
Gonna be a beast when done! 👍
How much $ for your old radiator Kevin?
You going to sell the engine?
What drop did you do on the front? And rear? How many inches
Did it make much of a difference ? I see it needed done regardless. Thanks for the video, nice work
Long, downward exhaust tip reveals need to check and replace; all weather stripping around hatch, around taillights, various hole plugs, shift lever boot, and look for rust holes.
Gee that engine bay would look good with a old school 454
Stay tuned for my upcoming Tesla motor swap with big block valve covers
Great vid. Ready for more
Awesome, thank you !
👍🏻🍺
This is a great video, I can't wait to see the next episodes!!! Thanks for sharing Kev!!!
Thanks Jorge I appreciate it! Looking forward to filming more content on the swap
I like your video. The car sounds great, what all exhaust does it have? (headers, pipe diameter, X or H, muffler type) Keep up the good work!
Thanks! I build this exhaust my self. It’s 2.5” with and h pipe and spintech 6000 mufflers. The tail pipes I bought from flow master pre-bent and cut them at the quarter panel.
@@KevinHarrington55 thanks for the quick reply! What headers are ya running? I have Ridetech truturn so I am doing tons or research for fitment. Hope AZ has cooled down and you are able to cruise it!
Fine job 👍
Thanks!
Really love the stance of the 55. What wheel and tire combo are you running. Diameter, width back spacing. I have a 56 with tubs .
Are those US rat rod or US smooth wheels? I want to run the rat rods on my 55 4door wagon
These are US wheel
Just found subscribed and liked your channel. We also have a 9 inch ford rear in our 55. Its from a 69 fairlane and is one inch narrower drum to drum than the stock 55 rear end. I relocated the rear springs in line with the frame and can get a 10 inch slick to fit without altering the wheel wells. We have video of the 55 on our channel.
Awesome! I’ll prob end up doing the same for a wider tire after I do the supercharged ls swap
It looks and sounds great, lucky you.
Thank you and thanks for watching
Needed this one! Mine has been leaking for at least a year.
Right on I hope this video helps!
I have 210 club looks like that I inherited from my dad. Needs overhaul
Very nice, keep at it! Thanks for watching
I love your double nickel
Thank you!
