That last part with your son is absolute gold!!! Enjoy every moment!! Great Job!!
Thanks man, expect to see more of them as the years go on. My oldest gonna get after it this year too in the youth season!
Looks like a sweet platform. In the promo video from LWCG, Cody said this was designed to "fix the instability issues that you'll have with every other saddle platform"
Maybe I'm crazy, or maybe because I'm only 185 pounds I don't push the platforms hard enough, but I have never noticed any instability with any platform I've used. The Tethrd Predator is as rock solid as it gets, and seems to handle side pressure better than this platform does based on your test. The design of the Fix is incredible, just seems like they are marketing this as a solution to a problem that doesn't actually exist.
Yeah, not 100% sure. Maybe I should compare them side by side?
@@MichiganGreatOutdoors I’d be curious to hear your thoughts for sure!
That backdrop is coming along brother. Can def get in some tight spots with that small set up🤙
Yeah like super lightweight setup 🤙🤙
Love these reviews. I always make time to watch them the minute I see a new video. Would love a review of the Skeletors if that's possible. I hear there are issues with the standoffs bending though.
Thank you, I really appreciate that comment! Im gonna do the Skeletors when the weather breaks!
Not going to lie. My favorite part of your videos is the Shit Tree. Tickles me every time because even at 30 I'm still 12 i guess
Hahaha 😆 me too lol
Great Review. Love the “Shit Tree” clip 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks brother 🤣
Just file and sand the post edges and it will be good. I did it to all my double steps and my 0.5. LWCG is really good equipment.
Oh yeah, Ive done the same on my .5 and doubke steps too.
You have good taste in quality equipment
Thank you, its a quality item!
“Had a couple beers the other day” 😂
Lol, couple beers everyday 🤣🤣
Did you notice any excessive “flex” in this platform compared to any others?
It flexes for sure but it aint too bad for me. Im also 260 lbs
👍 good review got mine yesterday
Thanks! What do you think of yours??
Always have killer music too
Thanks 🤙
Might just need tighten up the leveling bolt to eliminate that little bit of rattle
Good little tip!!
I’ve never seen someone cam a platform like you do, lifting up then pushing down them caming over?¿ tighten cam strap then stand on platform post then toe the platform to cam over into tree
So this particular saddle platform is designed to be what LWCG calls “reverse camed” basically Its kind of the opposite of the toe cam. If you try to “toe cam” this platform it doesn’t bite as well as it does the way I show it in the video. The way I show it in the video is the way its designed to be done.
LWCG person here. I have most of there equipment. Let me know how much more fiddling around on double steps. To ratchet the platform. My old knees are not the best anymore.
It can be done pretty easily IMO
Are you still running this platform? Does "up camming" it get easier with practice?
@James.712 yes I run it. Up camming gets easier for sure. Gotta practice
Looking to get into saddle hunting. Trying to buy good equipment the first time and not end up spending tons of money trying several different platforms. If you could recommend one to somebody who wanted to be “one and done” would this be the one, or any others to look at instead?
Fix, Trophyline onyx or edp
Awesome job as always. Do you think there is a need to put any tape etc where the adjustment bar meets the platform?
It might not be a bad thing honestly, I see a little wear mark in mine already.
@@MichiganGreatOutdoors yeah I think that they have tested that out and it is fine but maybe a little tape. I may try to cut some small felt furniture pads and see if it offers more protection
@@kirkloos8141 did you get one too? How do you like it?
@@MichiganGreatOutdoors mine is supposed to be here tomorrow. So hoping to get it out tomorrow to try it out.
@@MichiganGreatOutdoors just got mine in and so far I like it. The camming method will take a minute to get used to but once in it is solid. I will have to say this finish is the best so far from lwcg. The edges on the post rounded nice.
looks like it has a lot of flex.
It definitely flexes lol
Are you still running this platform? I am slightly concerned with my ability to set it on a tree while up in the air....
Please help me decide.... I am switching to a mobile set up, but I cannot determine which route to go. I like the packability with the lone wolf sticks and platform as a system, but I am not sure if it is the best way to go for ease of use. I like the LWCG stands as well, but I can only afford either a stand or saddle set up.
Ok, so ive used the FIX on my last 8 hunts and Its by far the best platform ive used. It bites hard, takes a little longer to setup... Maybe 1 minute longer? I love it. It just doesn't move!!
@@MichiganGreatOutdoors Cool... Well i got one... and I also go the X wing in a latitude starter saddle deal. Went with the classic 2... Might also get the method 2 on black Friday and flip whatever I don't like as much.
Hey Boss, have watched every video on CZcams about camming the Fix to the tree. Got mine today, having a time trying to cam it over like the videos show, following the instructions of the LWCG videos. I might just need more practice, however, am worried about trying to cam it over while standing on my climbing sticks 20' up in the air. Have you tried to cam it over while up in the tree? your thoughts?
I have done it on a stick, its not tooo bad. I cs. Make a video on this next week if that helps?
@@MichiganGreatOutdoors that would help, maybe I need to play with it some more
@@arthurcarstens using a linesman rope?
@@MichiganGreatOutdoors yes sir
Wonder if that would fit in the Tethrd Pack
Im not sure,
What size trees will it work on?
Thats a great question and honestly I dont know. I should explore this as there is no description on the website stating this.
Well so far I’m not a fan. Granted I haven’t practiced with it much but it’s much more of a pain to get right than a predator that’s for damn sure
I think if you practice a couple of times you will be surprised how easy it is.
Imagine not using the tethrd predator lol
What do u mean?
@@MichiganGreatOutdoors Predator is the best theres no reason to review all these inferior platforms
I have the new gen3 predator, will have to put them head to head
I love honest reviews but I believe this is going to hurt the hunting community. We are really getting to the point of complaining about every single thing. Pack ability, size, weight etc. good grief most platforms are under 10lbs What is the big deal about it. Companies are really going to start sacrificing reliability to meet the needs of “packability”
Yeah maybe some companies would, some company's can do it all too.
out of the latitude x wing and this one which do you prefer? i have an xwing waiting to be shipped, but im big lone wolf guy
The fix, the X wing was a little small for longer than 3-4 hour hunts. Fix I can hunt off all day if I want.
@@MichiganGreatOutdoors thank you so much. just canceled my latitude order and will order the fix. i have a .5 and double steps already so makes sense to stick with them, and they just rock. love your channel man.
@MS-ww9dd thanks for the kind words, one you learn how to properly set the fix its rock solid.
