    Thanks for answering my ?, never thought i would see it in a video. Lol. One thing I have done on a couple LW Assaults, is add a 1” dia spacer x 1” long at the seat post connection to push out the cables to help with the cable pinch if you want to stand as close to the tree along with stealth stripping the cables for noise. Thanks again.

      No problem, man! Thanks for submitting the question.
      I did a lousy job at showing how close you can get to the tree by standing with your feet offset, but I can get all the way back on the platform.

    Thank you this is great. I’ve been hunting out of a saddle exclusively for the last 4 years but I’ve just found myself with a spot I need to sit where a tree stand is really the best way to hunt it. I think I can use the .5 as my back up system for spots like this. I have an old loan wolf but it’s just too big it gets hung up on too much stuff while I’m trying to slip in quietly.

      Thank you🙏🏼. I'm glad you enjoyed the review.
      It's a great stand.
      Many people use it as a hybrid system and saddle hunt out of it. It's small and compact but can hunt for about 4-5 hours before I feel fatigued.
      I'm only 5’8, so the short seat post doesn't bother me.

  • @zb5715
    @zb5715 Před 2 lety +1

    I’ve got a 1st gen .5 and it still amazes me how concerned people get over the edges. The fact they think they’re “sharp“ is just crazy to me. It just feels like an edge, it’s not even sharp.
    Either way, great review. I’ve got 50+ sits on mine over the last 2 seasons and I can’t ever see myself using anything else until they some how make it better.

    • @MichiganAmBushOutdoors
      @MichiganAmBushOutdoors  Před 2 lety +1

      The edges don't bother me too much but I didn't want my backpack straps to cut over time because some of them you can't replace.
      Other than that, the stand is fantastic, and I agree; I don't see myself ever running my LW Assualt unless it's a pre-hung set.
      Thank you for watching!

      after a few weeks of having this set up I really like the beast sticks they are so solid only problem is there is just no good option for packing them out at least for my liking so I went ahead and ordered four LWCG 17” minis and two 17” aiders you are 100% correct can’t get around how awesome they pack to the .5 I will keep the beast sticks for my Novix helo and use that set up to hang and leave up in different spots for quick after work hunts

    Great video! A couple of questions...
    Does the stand come with the backpack clip? or do you need to buy it separately
    Do you run it with a backpack? Thoughts about weight distribution?
    Do you like the mini sticks shown in the video?
    Thinking of getting the whole set-up once the .75 comes out.

    • @MichiganAmBushOutdoors
      @MichiganAmBushOutdoors  Před 2 lety

      Thank you.
      The stand comes with the backpack straps but not a waist belt. Don't quote me on this, but I believe the 1.0 comes with the waist belt but I could be wrong.
      I do run a backpack on the stand. For the most part, the weight distribution is good but once you get into late season and you're carrying more gear, the stand wants to tip back but I just take more slack out of the backpack straps and that helps. Keeping the pack tight to the stand also helps.
      I do like the mini sticks. I have since purchased a double step but I'm still leaning towards the minis but in all fairness, I haven't a ton a lot of testing with the doubles. the minis pack a lot nicer to the stand.

      @@MichiganAmBushOutdoors Thanks for your response.... How do you think the Beast mini sticks would work? Maybe lay them staked on the seat and backpack on top?

    • @MichiganAmBushOutdoors
      @MichiganAmBushOutdoors  Před 2 lety

      That's one option or you could make longer J- Hooks (assuming you have the sticks with holes) and stack two on each side and leave the seat shelf free for your pack.
      I did a video showing how to make the J-hooks. It will cost you like 5 bucks for all the parts and you can have them any length.

    Thinking about getting a .5 or .75. Also thinking about ditching aiders all together and running 6 sticks instead. Could you tell me if 6 single step compact sticks will fit in the stand's grommet holes the way 4 sticks do? Would they end up hitting the seat or make the seat not fit in the frame lock mode?

    • @MichiganAmBushOutdoors
      @MichiganAmBushOutdoors  Před rokem +1

      Why would you want to carry six sticks vs. Running aiders?
      If you carried that many sticks, assuming three per side, you would have put purchase or make custom J-hooks to lock them to the stands and yes, you would have issues with the seat-locking feature.

    • @ZombieOnaStick21
      @ZombieOnaStick21 Před rokem +1

      @@MichiganAmBushOutdoors I've ran cable aiders on four novix minis for the last 3 years. I took them off this season and have been loving how much faster and easier it is to climb, just wish I could get a little higher up. They like to close up on the climb up, making it difficult to get my foot into on the climb down. They're also sometimes tricky to use in wonky or leaning trees when you're forced to place the stick at a weird angle. I thought about trying a versa aider that cinches to your foot, but I don't know if that would help with the weird angle issue. I only wanted to run 6 lwcg sticks if they fit properly in their system. Otherwise, I might just add two extra novix minis and save some money. Thanks for replying, I've been trying to find the answer to this for a while.

      @@MichiganAmBushOutdoors Yeah, I have the ewo aiders. You have the lwcg ones right? How have they held up? I like how far they stick out from the tree. That's another problem I've had with the ewo's, they sit too close to the tree. Combine that with them also closing up and it makes it really difficult sometimes.

    • @MichiganAmBushOutdoors

      All the issues you mentioned are why I went back to the LWCG AIDERS. They are a lot nicer and would address a lot of your issues.
