Summer Song is my favourite too in my garden along with Bring me Sunshine 😊😊😊😊 when i went there with my husband yesterday mostly the roses are end of season and lots of hips…we will try next summer again xxx

Morning Mist is not available in the US either. I wonder if the deep orange color gene is attached to certain characteristics that don't sit well with the climate here ? Summer Song is still on my must have list, I am very enchanted by it...LOL!

I live on Lake Erie, I have terrible luck with pots. I have to haul them into my garage yearly. Maybe I will try 1 again.

Amazing! I love getting to see all they don't usually show. One thing I found out is that because of the root stock in the UK, there is a difference in what does well in pots form the USA to the UK.

Absolutely love this gorgeous tour. DAs make up the majority of my all-time favorite roses to grow. Pure Heaven as you said. You provided a wonderful and simple narration. The funny part was me hearing myself oo! and ah! audibly along with you! 😮😍😅
I have almost 70 DA roses, my guest to my patio always comment of the glorious scents.

So wonderful. I loved the walled gardens, serpentine hedges, new roses I have not seen before in their various stages of bloom, knautia- red knight caught my eye, purple salvia near it. wow. The pergolas were fantastic.. omg. I kept thinking.. who is going up there to prune, deadhead..what a job and what beauty. Every minute was amazing and the blooms never quit.. prime time. Loved the peacock howl, my friend and my Grandma had those.. how to keep them? Feed them! They are loud though.. in the early am or when you are trying to sleep.. This is definitely a video to revisit. Going there would be the ultimate. Thank you for sharing and telling us the names..so helpful..My list grows.
Hmmm i thought.. it’s always like that.. i live in England.. people come from abroad.. visit us & until recently.. i had not seen Big Ben.. & was living London for 40 yrs.. now 24 miles away from London.. but .. have not visited these rosy places & have been living in England since 1974

I knew David Austin snr when he sold roses from a hut at road side near his house. In only 23 years he arrived at this and achieved his dream then died
But I’m bearing with it because am enjoying this garden. Thank you.
Loved this tour. Thank you. The peacock halfway through gave me a chuckle. When I was a young girl my maternal grandmother lived just up the road from someone who had a few peacocks. Their call brings back wonderful childhood memories. I predict at some point DA will figure out how to get you a Summer Song. ;)
@@TheRoseGeek me too. It's a stunning rose and I'm sure the video doesn't do the color justice. That seems the way with the darker roses.

Although I have visited myself (it's heaven), I absolutely adored this video that much I will be watching it again and again. I have become slightly obsessed with David Austin roses and I am building my collection slowly. I do have many of the same rose if I like them that much. Eg 3 James Galway, 2 Gertrude jekyll and 3 James l Austin haha. Your video was so dreamy. You showed us all the roses from afar and close up which really helps me us to see how the roses grow and what they look like when mature. It's always hard to find a video of a mature rose from a distance. Thank you so much for spending the time filming for us and I hope you enjoyed the UK whilst you were visiting. I will be visiting David Austin again this year with my son. It's huge and gorgeous isn't it? x

There were several that I have had on my list in the past and removed them and now thanks to this video I have added them back on my list again. looked at this must be 10 plus lol but i enjoy every time learnt so much from posts .
So much to comment on! So many roses I've not heard of before. So many that I know, love and/or have in my garden. I noticed that they had many spent blooms still on the plants. I worried when you got to the steps in that one garden path that you wouldn't notice it and take a tumble. Also, I didn't see any Abraham Darby's? I now know I want Grace, Summer Song and about 100 others. My Alnwick has powdery mildew too. I wish I had planted more of the same rose in one spot like they do. I like the look. Thank you so much for taking the time to show us this beautiful garden. I felt like I was right there.

DA withdrew Abraham Darby in the UK a few years ago because it is so prone to disease in the UK climate.
@@barbarafarthing9786 Munstead Wood was definitely there in June. I was surprised how dark it was.
Did it smell heavienly?! Now I want even more. It is lovely seeing them in place, and so abundant. I think the shades of pale pink are my favorite, but love most of them. Elizabeth looked beautiful. Is that the new one in honor of the Queen?

@@TheRoseGeek 3.5 hrs to drive and its a long drive for me but the excitement makes me do it year after year to go there during summer
@@TheRoseGeek normally last week of June on their first flush, i dont leave it late summer because some climbers or ramblers are only once flowering in a year

No, sadly. They didn't have any of the retired roses or any wedding roses. I wish they would consider adding them.
