Just for the hell of it, I searched 2005 Honda not starting and this was the first video I watched. I know this video isn't going to help a lot of people who's car won't start but you saved me lots of work trying to find my problem.
After a 650 mile trip my car made a slight thump sound as the engine stopped when I turned the car off. A couple days later my car wouldn't start. I thought for sure that thump I heard might have been my timing belt breaking. I took my oil cap off and saw my valves moving while trying to start the car so I knew it wasn't a timing belt problem. After seeing your video I remembered my key had broken off my remote during those days I didn't use the car and I was only using the metal key to start the car.

Thank you for posting! My son in law had the key casing crack and the security chip had fallen out. Searched the car, pathway, street, hallway, finally as I was explaining the issue to my daughter, their dog knocked the key out of my hand and as I picked it up from the carpet their was the chip. It just looks like a small piece of black plastic that had broken off something, very non-descript, a miracle!!!

This comment saved me! The casing on my key fell apart. So I called my husband and his coworker said to check the fuse box to see if I could override the safety and that did not work. I saw your comment and decided to look on the floor to make sure that the chipped didn’t fall out and the low and the hole I found the chip put it back into the casing and the car started up.

I was about to be scammed for about 400 bucks fixing what they “thought” the problem was( fuel pump, cam sensor, relay and a bunch of other stuff) all I needed was a new battery!!!! Just changed the starter last night on one let it run for a couple minutes, and sounded good. I couldn't find the wifes keys this morning so I grabbed her spare set and well... I ended up finding this video! Saved me a lot of time and headaches in figuring out the problem! Thanks for Posting!.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. My Daughter calls me up, "Ello papa, my car won't start? will you help me"... I go check it out, ask her what happened, she say's " I drove home fine, then next time I try to start it and it just cranks over". I check fuses, fine, I'll check relay, fine, 'I do spark plug test, no spark but I have juice at the ignition fuse under hood. I go home and watch video after video, no help, then your video popped up and I saw the green key on your dash, the same green key I saw flashing on my daughter's car. watched the rest of your video and said "Eureka!" I knew without a shadow of a doubt this was that problem. I called her up asked her if she got a new key or anything of that matter, she say's "Yes I got a new key ". that sealed its fate, drive over swop the chip out the old and int the new...The rest is HISTORY MY FRIEND....Thanks 100....BACARDY AND RUM...DO IT!!!!!!!!

I had the same issue but did not what to do, "Tow the car, get mobil Mechanic.....:(" then googled and found you , and it was the same issue got the chip inside the new cover and worked, you are life safer Thank you so much!!!!

I hope this is the isssue with my accord. I’ll have to reinstall the starter back because I believed it was that and auto zone test it for free and just told me it works fine. The night before I switch keys which now leads me to believe I have the same issue. I’ll comment again after I install the starter and alternator.

So the ignition went out so I replaced the whole ignition assembly and it came with a key for it. Just metal no chips or electric parts. It's doing the exact same thing not starting but will crank. Any ideas?
