Proud of owner of my '04 V6 6MT; I bought the car at the beginning of the pandemic with 160K on it; now it has 203K on it. After replacing practically everything on it with genuine OEM parts and aftermarket upgrades, I can firmly say that this is one of the greatest cars I've ever owned. It has been my daily driver, my racecar, my roadtrip car, my hauler; it can literally do it all. My advice to anyone who has this car or is planning on getting this car: 1. If you can, get it with a manual transmission. Honda puts alot of effort into their manuals; the automatics of this era were not particularly good. The performance of the J30 V6 exploited this shortcoming even further. If you MUST get it with an automatic, make sure the previous owner has extensive maintenance records, especially if the car is high mileage. You MUST do your drain and fills of ATF according to the maintenance schedule. It is the only way to ensure that the automatic transmission survives. 2. The braking system was pretty lackluster unless you had the V6 6MT or Hybrid. Pay close attention to the rear calipers in rust belt states; if the rubber boots are torn, REPLACE THEM; I've had to replace the L/R caliper on my car because water seeped in and locked up the pins. 3. Try to go OE, OE+, or aftermarket upgrade when buying parts; you will save yourselves money in the long run. 4. Front Lower balljoints are kryptonite to these cars. Only buy Sankei 555 balljoints and tie rods; they have a larger diameter ball stud shank that can support the weight of the car better than the original design. The castellated nut on the new design is 24mm. 5. Front lower control arm compliance bushings are a weakness with these cars; check them periodically. I've seen numerous 7th gen Accords broken down at the side of the road with collapsed control arms/balljoints due to neglect. These are great cars to learn DIY repair on; they were logically designed and there's plenty of room to access most things. Overall, one of Honda's best cars. There's a reason you see so many on the road 16-20 years later. They're stylish, relatively spacious, pretty economical for what they are, relatively inexpensive to maintain, and the V6 6MTs are pretty remarkable sleepers and can even do track work with the array of aftermarket performance parts available nowadays.
@NoFauciJab yes, some people are under the impression that these parts are indestructible or they simply don't care to ever have them replaced. I wouldn't say that they are an inherent flaw of the car, simply due to the 7yr/105k mile service interval, but it can be a deal-breaker on the used market if it hasn't been done or there's no record of it being done. Luckily, if you get the model with the K24 instead of the J30, it has a timing chain. A lot of timing belt/water pump failures are due to purchasing low-quality aftermarket parts like water pumps with plastic impellers or cheaply made Chinese timing belts. The best kits are Honda, Aisin, Gates, and Continental, to name a few. P2R makes a billet timing belt tensioner as well (which is a lifetime part), which is a direct upgrade to the OE hydraulic temperature, which can sometimes fail prematurely in extreme climates.

Bought it with 159k, and at 176k, had to replace all timing components because the previous owner(which took pretty good care of the car) used a Dayco kit at 105k. The tensioner ended up going bad. A mechanic I really trust told me he thought Aisin was the best.
As someone who bought one of these at 90k and it's currently at 150k (2.4L, AT): -Break calipers stick/go bad a lot in salty environments. I've had to replace a number of them -Exhaust rust -Power steering pump leak -Radiator fan stopped working -Blower motor (cabin) stopped working That's about it. Most of the issues I've experienced can be attributed to rust / living up north. Drain and filled the transmission fluid a number of times to smooth out the shifts. Same with the power steering fluid. New struts/wheels all around to improve the handling. Great inexpensive car overall If you get the 6 cylinder with an automatic that's when you should be careful with the transmission. 4 cylinder with automatic or manual or 6 cylinder with a manual and it's pretty bulletproof
Thank you for your feedback I definitely appreciate it I have a 2005 Honda Accord 4 cylinder automatic but I been having a power steering leak it’s been very frustrating but I’m going to change the pump and hoses plus the reservoir due to it looking always wet from the hoses connected to reservoir and also I’ve noticed the serpentine belt feels greasy from power steering fluid overall it’s a nice vehicle just need to fix problem it has.
I want to grab a V6 manual myself to replace my automatic Mustang. Especially knowing that Honda autos were problematic. If I didn't want a manual I would have just gotten a Camry instead.
Bought an 07 2.4 at sedan 3 years ago as my daily. It has turned into a fun hobby of finding oem and quality parts to restore the car with proper maintenance. In my mind, its fun and saves tons of money over buying new but unreliable cars. Love my 07 accord.
The 2007 7th gen end of line honda accord is possibly going to become a timeless classic if it hasn't already. I would bulk buy wear and tear service items for it and keep this until you literally have to replace the engine block. It's the step up from a camry if you can't afford an older Lexus - which also is ridiculously more expensive to maintain and for parts. This car literally should easily last 30+ years if you look after it. One day people will want this version of accord as they simply went backwards until 2015 and that's double in price. Keep don't sell.
Bought an '07 Accord SE sedan with the K24 and auto trans new in Dec '06. Currently has 120k miles. 17 years of usage and only tires, a couple batteries, fluids and filters so far. No other repairs needed. A fun to drive and very versatile car, great for city driving and decent on the highway. I found that premium tires are necessary to help keep road noise tolerable on the highway. I'll be keeping this great car for many years to come.
Lucked out and got a 2007 exl 180k miles drives great. Comfortable, smooth, good looking. Going to keep it as long as possible. Previous was a 2002 v6 lemon. Transmission failed didnt do my research 😔

I had a 2007 accord 2.4 only problems I had with it were suspension a water pump and flex . It had 200,000 miles on it and it got totaled. I now have a 2006 accord 2.4 so far no problem with 150k but suspension doesn’t last if you live in a state that had grand canyon size pot holes lol
Bought an 04 EX sedan with the K24A and 5sp manual trans. Got it super cheap because of the famous clear coat paint peel. I fixed it easily with good 'ol spray paint, not joking either it looks fantastic. But I've been doing stuff with rattle can for a minute now and skills naturally improve. As for the car overall. I freaking love it! It needed an alignment which I did the work myself, steering wheel is centered and it tracks straight. I also bought another one with the same motor trans combo for way hella cheap cause it was in a front end collision. I was going to use it for parts but when I started dismantling it it had absolutely no frame damage. I'm surrounded by 3 pick-n-pull wrecking yards so I'm just waiting till they get one in the same color and I'll buy the parts it needs and put 'er back on the road.
just bought 05 with 86k km not miles,,car drives like new,,best part i paid 6500 Cad, fell in love with her, handles awesome and comfort is superb, the only thing is the airbag light comes out occasionally ,don't know if i should worry about that..
Saying you’ll pull take this thing apart will a 10mm is a bit of a stretch.. but yes, it is more manageable to work on than various other makes and models. Side note: Thanks for the financial advice. One of the best Hondas Eva built..I love the smoothness of the ride esp the 2006 / 2007 Very very smooth and balanced ride..the only issue I have with this Honda is fuel consumption is not very good esp the earlier years
Bought a new 2003 Accord EX-L…. Great car no problems, fun to drive. Traded it in for a 2008 Accord EX-L. The seats were horrible, something to do with the headrest safety system. Had 2 Mazdas since. Wish Mazda would bring back the Mazda 6 as a sportback. Currently looking at Audi A5 Sportback but never owning a German car, I’m afraid of reliability… I only drive around 10k miles per year…what say you Mr. Meyer? Thanks for all your reviews!
I bought a 07 2.4 SE with 169 back in August. Now in mid-December with several Albany - Rochester runs we're at 183 and no issues other than needing calipers. Amazing on gas. I'm gonna drive the crap outtve it LOL
Long story short i bought an 05 coupe. Ive saw 3 7th gen accord COUPES with their ball joint snapped in my city Winston-Salem this past two months. Ive saw 1 sedan with the same problem in Greensboro. I never ever heard of this problem but i looked it up. Its a biiiig problem for this generation accord
I replaced all front end suspension parts (2003 accord) at 280k miles with rockautos AC Delco parts in less than one year ( 5k miles) the right lower ball joint broke luckily while just driving out of a stores driveway at 3 mph. Now it has Moog parts installed and going strong at 323k.
GREAT INFO - all the problems with the accord came with the v6 engines the 2.2 auto worked fine as far as i could tell. You can't always believe what you see and read. I was on car complaints and it stated that brake lines was over 10 grand to fix. Sometimes you get a lemon and sometimes you get a gem. My cobalt and G5 were suppose to be real lemons and stay away from certain model years. I never had any real problems with the 08 and 07 models put over 100,000 kms on them both. So i got real lucky but i always did proper maintenance. Good luck and buyer be aware
Im seriously looking at buying a 2007 Honda Accord EX-L V6 with the 5speed auto transmission, my current vehicle is a Gas Hog 2008 Chevy Trailblazer, ive had the chevy trailblazer since 2010 and haven't had many issues with it but the way Gas prices are its costing me a ton of money. My wife has a 2007 Honda Civic EX 1.8 l 4 cylinder and it has 498,321 miles, original motor, transmission etc and not one issue with it . I'm only considering the 07 Accord because I don't like small vehicles and the accord fits my need . If this car is not worth buying then ill keep looking. Thanks for this video

Not really my friend the lowest cost option I can recommend is riding the bus for $50 a month a lot of inconveniences but a ton of money saved. Next step is to get into these 2-5k cars which a Toyota Sienna or something would be my pick as it would be safer than a car of that era. Ideally I want people into new cars as quickly as possible like a new base model Versa manual for $17k for safety, warranty, no used games, etc. Fleecing new turds is the best place to get to. But if you're having a hard time comprehending basic finances that Dave Ramsey teaches than I would say forget the more complex things I talk about. Learn to understand and work the Dave Ramsey plan first in its full capacity. Many people rich and not so rich still can't seem to comprehend the simple Dave Ramsey baby steps so sadly they are unable to participate in what the wealthy really do. But not to worry the Ramsey plan is better than having no plan at all. Ride the bus, get the Sienna, trade it in for a better cash car, work your way up. God Bless and please take care.
I bought 2 of them, brand new; 2004 accord lx, sold after 14 years with 230k miles, only radio broke down, did repaired for $200, and that's it, I didn't include tires, breaks, engine oil. Another 2007 accord SE, still drive today with 150k, only starter broke down- $300, and ac power relay, which cost me $5,.and that's it, of course I get replacement of 2004 accord with 2018 accord 1.5 T, so far so good. Honda forever.
I have purchased in 2018 a Honda accord 2003 coupe with only 41,500 km on it. I got to 54,000 km and without warning transmission was slipping and banging into reverse, reving way up. 3800 dollars later and after a full sonnex rebuild kit. The car runs fine to this day now at 89,000 km. I would say really I mean really great motor but that transmission is a huge concern. Just the way it operates being an automated manual transmission how it shifts and feels. On cold starts it will clap out when it first shifts into 3rd unless properly warmed up and sometimes you get this huge wampey shift going up hill for example. Nothing that would warrant a transmission rebuild however I strongly think before the end of the life of this car I am going to have to shell out another 4000 dollars for another rebuild at some point in the future and my rebuilder retired now had 35 years rebuilding these when it was done so finding another builder will be a challenge one that I can trust with this level of difficulty putting in another sonnex kit with proper parts.

Just got a 2007 honda accord se Manual. It drives great and super clean but has that steering wheel vibration I’m still trying to track down. And vearing to the right, I changed the brake calipers and brake rotors and brakes and still have the problem
I've got the same rig. When I first got it, I didn't notice the drift right away... not until a few hundred highway miles left my left forearm numb! Definitely take a look at the tread wear on the tires, not just from the side but from head-on as well, the very inside could be really worn and you can't see that easily from side side of the car. Wonky tires can cause wonky steering, but those are just symptoms - look to the alignment and suspension to find the root of the issue.

Pulling the tire off entirely will give you a much better view. Wonky tires will cause wonky steering, but don't get new tires until you figure out the root cause, usually alignment or suspension.
I paid 3,500 for a le v6 in collinsville va. 130,000 on it trans is fucky though could be a sensor or flush and change filter with gm synchromesh fluid

We bought our 2003 4 dr, 4 cyl, brand new with less that 5 miles on it. This BS video claims the trans is a problem we'll ours has never been to the Dealer for services, but the only reason it was at the Dealer once was for Faulty air bags. As for the "supposedly" bad trans I'll tell you at 300k miles I replaced the trans filter, also at 200k I drained the fluid and replaced what came out. This car I replaced the Knox device at 280+k miles. We are now at 323k miles and still going strong. Also it still has the upper and lower OEM radiator hoses. AS FOR PROBLEM VEHICLES EVER CAR HAS THE POTENTIAL FOR SOMETHING GOING BAD/WORNG AT ANY TIME. Our Accord is still going strong because I'm the ONLY one that has did its maintenance probably why it's still going strong at 323k miles, Dealers will "suggest" that you replace certain parts when you use the Dealers for services at certain mileage intervals, we are still running on 99.8% of its OEM FACTORY INSTALLED PARTS. So my take on this guy's Verbal Diarrhea of the Mouth Comments are Horse s h ! t

Very very smooth and balanced ride..the only issue I have with this Honda is fuel consumption is not very good esp the earlier years
Bought a new 2003 Accord EX-L…. Great car no problems, fun to drive. Traded it in for a 2008 Accord EX-L. The seats were horrible, something to do with the headrest safety system. Had 2 Mazdas since. Wish Mazda would bring back the Mazda 6 as a sportback. Currently looking at Audi A5 Sportback but never owning a German car, I’m afraid of reliability… I only drive around 10k miles per year…what say you Mr. Meyer? Thanks for all your reviews!

I bought a 07 2.4 SE with 169 back in August. Now in mid-December with several Albany - Rochester runs we're at 183 and no issues other than needing calipers. Amazing on gas. I'm gonna drive the crap outtve it LOL
Long story short i bought an 05 coupe. Ive saw 3 7th gen accord COUPES with their ball joint snapped in my city Winston-Salem this past two months. Ive saw 1 sedan with the same problem in Greensboro. I never ever heard of this problem but i looked it up. Its a biiiig problem for this generation accord
I replaced all front end suspension parts (2003 accord) at 280k miles with rockautos AC Delco parts in less than one year ( 5k miles) the right lower ball joint broke luckily while just driving out of a stores driveway at 3 mph. Now it has Moog parts installed and going strong at 323k.
GREAT INFO - all the problems with the accord came with the v6 engines the 2.2 auto worked fine as far as i could tell. You can't always believe what you see and read. I was on car complaints and it stated that brake lines was over 10 grand to fix. Sometimes you get a lemon and sometimes you get a gem. My cobalt and G5 were suppose to be real lemons and stay away from certain model years. I never had any real problems with the 08 and 07 models put over 100,000 kms on them both. So i got real lucky but i always did proper maintenance. Good luck and buyer be aware
Im seriously looking at buying a 2007 Honda Accord EX-L V6 with the 5speed auto transmission, my current vehicle is a Gas Hog 2008 Chevy Trailblazer, ive had the chevy trailblazer since 2010 and haven't had many issues with it but the way Gas prices are its costing me a ton of money. My wife has a 2007 Honda Civic EX 1.8 l 4 cylinder and it has 498,321 miles, original motor, transmission etc and not one issue with it . I'm only considering the 07 Accord because I don't like small vehicles and the accord fits my need . If this car is not worth buying then ill keep looking. Thanks for this video
If you buy any auto, make sure the transmission fluid was regularly maintained.

Not really my friend the lowest cost option I can recommend is riding the bus for $50 a month a lot of inconveniences but a ton of money saved.
Next step is to get into these 2-5k cars which a Toyota Sienna or something would be my pick as it would be safer than a car of that era.
Ideally I want people into new cars as quickly as possible like a new base model Versa manual for $17k for safety, warranty, no used games, etc.

Learn to understand and work the Dave Ramsey plan first in its full capacity. Many people rich and not so rich still can't seem to comprehend the simple Dave Ramsey baby steps so sadly they are unable to participate in what the wealthy really do.

I bought 2 of them, brand new;
2004 accord lx, sold after 14 years with 230k miles, only radio broke down, did repaired for $200, and that's it, I didn't include tires, breaks, engine oil.
Another 2007 accord SE, still drive today with 150k, only starter broke down- $300, and ac power relay, which cost me $5,.and that's it,
of course I get replacement of 2004 accord with 2018 accord 1.5 T, so far so good. Honda forever.

I have purchased in 2018 a Honda accord 2003 coupe with only 41,500 km on it. I got to 54,000 km and without warning transmission was slipping and banging into reverse, reving way up. 3800 dollars later and after a full sonnex rebuild kit. The car runs fine to this day now at 89,000 km. I would say really I mean really great motor but that transmission is a huge concern. Just the way it operates being an automated manual transmission how it shifts and feels. On cold starts it will clap out when it first shifts into 3rd unless properly warmed up and sometimes you get this huge wampey shift going up hill for example. Nothing that would warrant a transmission rebuild however I strongly think before the end of the life of this car I am going to have to shell out another 4000 dollars for another rebuild at some point in the future and my rebuilder retired now had 35 years rebuilding these when it was done so finding another builder will be a challenge one that I can trust with this level of difficulty putting in another sonnex kit with proper parts.
The transmission troubles came from the V6 engine, not the four-cylinder
Either way transmission is not the only issue here, plenty of other reported complaints a potential buyer has to be worried about

Just got a 2007 honda accord se Manual. It drives great and super clean but has that steering wheel vibration I’m still trying to track down. And vearing to the right, I changed the brake calipers and brake rotors and brakes and still have the problem

I've got the same rig. When I first got it, I didn't notice the drift right away... not until a few hundred highway miles left my left forearm numb! Definitely take a look at the tread wear on the tires, not just from the side but from head-on as well, the very inside could be really worn and you can't see that easily from side side of the car. Wonky tires can cause wonky steering, but those are just symptoms - look to the alignment and suspension to find the root of the issue.

Wonky tires will cause wonky steering, but don't get new tires until you figure out the root cause, usually alignment or suspension.

I paid 3,500 for a le v6 in collinsville va. 130,000 on it trans is fucky though could be a sensor or flush and change filter with gm synchromesh fluid

We bought our 2003 4 dr, 4 cyl, brand new with less that 5 miles on it. This BS video claims the trans is a problem we'll ours has never been to the Dealer for services, but the only reason it was at the Dealer once was for Faulty air bags. As for the "supposedly" bad trans I'll tell you at 300k miles I replaced the trans filter, also at 200k I drained the fluid and replaced what came out. This car I replaced the Knox device at 280+k miles. We are now at 323k miles and still going strong. Also it still has the upper and lower OEM radiator hoses.
AS FOR PROBLEM VEHICLES EVER CAR HAS THE POTENTIAL FOR SOMETHING GOING BAD/WORNG AT ANY TIME. Our Accord is still going strong because I'm the ONLY one that has did its maintenance probably why it's still going strong at 323k miles, Dealers will "suggest" that you replace certain parts when you use the Dealers for services at certain mileage intervals, we are still running on 99.8% of its OEM FACTORY INSTALLED PARTS.
