    Love this video. Points out the glaring flaws of the QHB2.0.
    The MCX price is painful but from a engineering aspect they nailed it.

    Great video! I was really excited about the Honey Badger and the video was eye opening. I'll probably still pick one up, but looks like it won't become my go to SHTF rifle. It's a shame but i guess they had to make some compromises to get the weight down. Anyway great vide thanks for making it very informative.

    SIG just has a design advantage especially the Rattler. Brilliant design and look, its just a great firearm which can even be more compact than the badger. And you get a integrated barrel for it. As usual you get what you pay for with todays compact weapon systems.

    Thanks for the honest review. The sig now comes with a folding brace option which brings it to 5.1 lbs vs the hb at 4.5 lbs. So we are talking a little more than half a pound difference. For the added "sturdiness" of the sig I'll take the extra weight.
    Especially, since it will be closer to my body with the shorter extended length and the way shorter folded length. I've never owned either brand and this would be my first 300blk gun so this has helped a lot in my research.

    The GQ Paladin is an excellent contender to these. Has the engineering of the SIG Rattler, but has the gucci aesthetics of the HB. Comes in at $2700 so middle of the road pricing between the three of these options. Takes down just like an AR.

    Watching this again and handling a MPX SBR at the local shop the other night I would almost say to either keep the brace (it is almost the same as the stock but actually more comfortable) and keep it a pistol. A pistol would be 50 state legal if they pass the 50 state CCW or if you are otherwise eligible for 50 state carry (not to mention all of the states where you can possess a pistol otherwise.) My opinion the second option if you go the SBR is to go with the new small sig adjustable folder that is currently on the vertus series.

    A full length handguard over a suppressor also prevents barrel flex when mounting on barricades. It allows for a mounting point so you aren't getting the suppressor causing accuracy issues.

    Everyone should keep in mind a few things. The honey badger is not a replacement for your ar15 or you 300 blk hunting rifle or your home defense rifle. It was specifically designed to replace the mp5 sd. That’s it. It isn’t meant for bashing skulls or laying down suppressive fire or for accuracy. It is meant for vbss and low profile ops. It is mission specific and frankly does a good job at its mission but not much more and q and Kevin are fine with that because they don’t deny it.

    • @ANRDesignLLC
      @ANRDesignLLC  Před 6 lety +9

      Did you just say this gun isn't designed for accuracy? Lol. You should probably clarify that it's not designed for precision shooting. But it's certainly a very accurate firearm. I'm just expressing that it is not a hard used gun. The mp5sd is a pretty hard use gun.

    • @calebfuller9591
      @calebfuller9591 Před 6 lety

      ANR Design LLC yeah my bad. Precision is definitely a better word. The mp5sd is hard use no doubt but you aren’t bashing skulls in with the stock like you were talking about. That stock seemed to have a good bit of wobble but it’s not like mp5 skeleton stocks are reinforced rebar.

    • @Laotzu.Goldbug
      @Laotzu.Goldbug Před 5 lety +3

      Well, if the Honey Badger was designed to replace the MP5 SD, it's doing a terrible job. The MP5 was a tank, much easier to disassemble and maintain, and certainly didn't have magazine or feeding issues. Whatever the original Honey Badger was, the current production version is a civilian toy. Definitely a cool looking gun, and probably great for plinking or hunting, but not a hard use duty weapon

    • @4g63mark
      @4g63mark Před 5 lety +1

      The funny thing about your explanation of the Honey Badger is that it wasn't selected as the replacement for the MP5SD. Q built it for that reason as you said, but it didn't make the cut.

  • @K0gashuk0
    @K0gashuk0 Před 6 lety +6

    The problem with the full mags on the honey badger is because they drastically changed the physics of the weapon to fit the design. With the MCX they changed the design to meet the needs of the weapon system. IE you cant have the entire system rely on that one tiny little spring that gets jacked up when you put it back together.. That is one of the reasons the MCX has 2. That and they almost completely eliminate the evil piston carrier tilt. Remember the difference between subsonic and supersonic is drastic. It takes a pretty good gas system to get that right. You cant just lower the spring weight and continue to drop all the burnt powder in.

    • @Laotzu.Goldbug
      @Laotzu.Goldbug Před 5 lety +1

      K0gashuk0 good point. And to be honest, from what I've seen with the one I have, the MCX doesn't have any carrier tilt at all. Unlike a short stroke AR, it's not really possible for the BCG to rotate inside the receiver. The whole piston system on the MCX is very well designed ( well, at least after the hiccups of the Gen 1 version)

    So with the new ATF proposed rule changes this would be a SBR, 6-12 months in NFA JAIL, pay $200 tax stamp, registration of you & this firearm and all the interstate regulations that go with it.
    These are rules not laws, don’t let an executive branch of government that is supposed to enforce current law be allowed to arbitrarily change definitions and create confusing, subjective and complicated rules leading to ambiguity, these rules are an attempt to circumvent legislation and through executive action effectively ban all braced pistols. This is a clear overstep of ATF authority and purview.
    SCOTUS has previously stated that laws must be clear and simple.
    “Clear" means easy to understand or intelligible. It also means unequivocal or unambiguous. For a document to be described as clear, it must not only be easy for its audience to understand but also convey the same message to those who read it.
    The ATF rule change is intentionally extremely subjective in wording and provides a back door to ultimately determine a braced pistol to be a NFA item upon their final opinion and position despite otherwise passing their arbitrary scoring system.
    Ultimately, the Constitution is clear, under the 2A: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. It does not say government has the ability to determine what is an acceptable form of arms for the people to bear. It says shall not be infringed. The people have a right to own, carry, transport, manufacture, or modify arms as necessary to maintain a well regulated body capable of defense of self or nation, period.
    Please, contact your local, state, and federal representatives and congressman. Let them know we the people will not relinquish our freedoms and rights, given by God and enumerated in our Constitution. We will not allow subjugation of the People and tyranny by our governments an opportunity to take root. Then go to the ATF website and make a stand and let our voices be heard, provide a comment on this rule change as well as the other proposed regulations that infringe upon our Constitutional rights.
    If we don’t let our voices be heard then we allow our rights to be taken!

    Great video. I love Q but Kevin gave up too many of secrets at sig. Their suppressers he designed are amazing, the taper mounts, and the mcx were all great ideas. I want to like q but there’s nothing q does better then sig other than maybe marketing and the erector. The Rattler is better then the honey badger, the sig QD is better then Q’s, sig makes inconel and TI cans opposed to Q’s ti only Rifle cans, and their direct thread cans are neck and neck. The Q erector is a game changer though, can’t wait for the 45 cal can.
