Agree to all three sentences. Anastasia and Titan A.E. were both incredible animations, and it always broke my heart that Titan A.E. did so poorly that Fox closed down their animation studio.

@@TheFangirlWatches yeah it is truly tragic, there was so much potential for more great 2d animated films with Bluth at the helm. Secret of Nimh was also a great animation marvel, and my all time favorite, aside from Anastasia, but hopefully Bluth will raise enough cash to make that Dragons Lair movie one day✊

I always thought part of the rumor was due to Anastasia's bones not being found amongst her family. Then much later with new technology, they discovered that her bones were buried under her brother, Alexei.

I love Anastasia! The real story of what happened to her is really sad... You were not the only one who loved that movie, I had the dolls and video and eventual CD and so on. I still believed that she lived..
I feel so bad for Alexi... He didn't deserve his cruel fate..
Rasputin was also horny... Yeah he was a sex fiend....
I do feel that Nicholas truly loved his family but I wished he and alexandra had thought of sending their kids to safety... .
The jerks who killed them also poured acid on the bodies. Also.. a cook, a maid and even the family doctor was murdered.
    Shivers.
Nicholas's last words before being shot is chilling " What? What?"
Yeah I tend to think of myself as a Romanov family expert. .
I'm currently reading a book called I was Anastasia.
I honestly prefer the animated movie's ending because I don't want to think of the horrible and violent way she passed..
    This video was so awesome!
    Always be fantastic.
Your theory videoes are always fascinating.
    Excellent singing..
    Love your hair. 💙💜

since medical knowledge was still sparse at the time, even though drugs like aspirin were available for treatment. sadly for Alexei, aspirin, considered a cure-all remedy, had the then-unknown side effect of thinning the blood, which would have exacerbated hemophilia symptoms. French historian Hélène Carrère d'Encausse argued that when Rasputin insisted that remedies prescribed by the doctors be thrown in the fire, the discarded medicine likely would have included aspirin. Rasputin’s insistence that the doctors leave him alone would have improved his condition and appeared to create a miraculous improvement in his symptoms.

Instead of thinking of the movie as being based on a true story, I've always thought of it as based on the legend and mystery that surrounded the princess and her death for nearly a century. There's something so fascinating and mysterious about the idea of a princess on the run, escaping off to foreign lands and going into hiding.
I fell down the Romanov family rabbit whole some time back and read through the entire Wikipedia pages for the whole family. I theorize that the reason why it was Anastasia who was rumored to be alive over her siblings is that she seemed to be very well liked, deapite being a hit of a troublemaker. She was quirky and the palace staff were supposedly pretty fond of her. She may have been thought of as "the favorite child", at least by some people, so it's just my theory that that's why she's the one they started the rumor about.

@@TheFangirlWatches if you mean his assasination, yeah, on the party at Tzars nephew-in-laws(henceforth ill refer to him as count) house he was given poisoned tea, cake and wine, and it didnt effect him at all. Then the count shot him in the chest. They then went to do some scheming to make it appear as if Rasputin just disappeared, but when he and his co-conspirators returned Rasputin leapt at the count, brawl ensued, and at the end Rasputin tried escaping and got shot by other conspirator, at which point they wrapped his body and dropped it in a river. At least thats the counts story. What is weird is that his body had a third bullet that he didnt mention, which lead to speculations of British involvement(Rasputin was a pacifist and advised Nicolas to make peace with Germany)

Maybe someone here can help me. I have a super hazy memory of an animated action series from the 90s. I'd rent it from the mom and pop video store in my little bity town, which means I probably only watched the same 3 episodes repeatedly.
    Here's all I can remember...
    1. It had a tech/sci-fi theme to it. Space ships and lasers kind of stuff.
    2. I'm pretty sure it was a team of characters, that I'm pretty sure were human teens.
    3. The only bit of story I remember is that they were trying to save wildebeest that seemed to be in an artificially created field/preserve that was inside a much larger metal structure. Idk if it was a spaceship, or if it was on a planet.

What happened to the train driver?
What is Rasputin? He's dead, but not a zombie, or vampire?
What would happen if Anastasia went to the fishmonger?
What would happen if Dimitri and Anastasia never got together in the end?
Does Anastasia do return visits to the grandmother?
Where do Anastasia and Dmitri sail off to?
Would Anastasia and Dmitri move back to the palace and start their own family?
    Look forward to hearing.

Actually Nicolas tried for asylum in England by his cousin George. But the children were sick with the measles that it was dangerous to move them. But king George denied the asylum because of German hostilities and empress Alexandra was a German by birth. And Gregory Rasputin wasn’t really a bad guy and hadn’t an affair with Alexandra. Plus if your interested in the Romanov family I suggest to watch The Romanov Royal Martyrs or read from a man named Paul Gilbert. It will surprise you how many of those documentaries and series have it wrong.

It probably wasn't *just* a rumour from the Soviet government either. It's entirely probable that their Cold War enemies would have wanted the rumour of one of the Romanovs to survive to spread, so that someday they could emerge to regain their "rightful" throne and show the Soviets as usurpers. Movies like Anastasia fall right into that fairytale. Unfortunately for her, reality was a lot more like Game of Thrones.

I never got to see the movie, will have to watch it someday. I remember reading a short story from Mary Higgins Clark where the government(?) brainwashed this woman into believing she was Anastasia.

BTW I have Pernicious Anemia (that is what I get for having 3,000 years of royal blood in me) and yes, I have anorexia (my body is unable to tell if it is hungry). The 1991 body that was found was all but two bodies Anastasia and Alexei were not in it. It wasn’t until 2007 when they found Anastasia and Alexei. Also the story of the movie Anastasia wasn’t based off of communist propaganda it was based off of a story where they mixed everything around and created their own story off of the sole fact that Anastasia potentially lived it’s more of a what if scenario and I have no issues with them doing it. Personally I wish they would do a live action remake of the original cartoon movie but I doubt they will since it’s owned by Disney now.

As the reincarnation of Rasputin, this ongoing slander is unacceptable. My former self was a man of medical science. As a child, my brother and sister gave their lives saving me from drowning. I almost died anyway from the experience. I was a man of faith, but never enough to take any vows. That honor belonged to my beloved wife Praskovya. I was not a perfect man by any means, but all of the absurd accusations against me a product of communist propaganda and tabloid imaginations. They saw my efforts to save young women and their customers from sexually transmitted diseases as perverse orgies. My rumored drunkenness was the layman's interpretation of a sleep deprived doctor with antiseptics soaked into my clothing. And that's before all my trouble with that damnable church.
Nicholas never listened to anyone. Not his people, not his wife, and certainly not me. All our hopes were bound up with that dear Alexei. Regardless of what you may have heard, Alexandra was a woman of faith. She sought solace in Praskovya's platonic company. We were dear friends, but never did we share a bed. Nicholas soured any supposed friendship we may have had when he made advances on my Maria and Varvara. They were 10 and 8 at the time. I admit I pondered poisoning the bastard.
You can take solace that Anastasia and her sisters Tatiana and Maria did survive. Olga and Alexei were not so lucky. My wife and children took the girls with them when they fled Russia. That's as much as I know about the situation. Which is more than a dead man should've known.
I know I'll never be seen for the man I was under the slander. The best I can hope is that you've found this interesting.
