- The new Suzuki Vitara, is a "Dont judge a book by its cover" type of car! Its the latest little urban crossover from the Japanese manufacturer and comes with a choice of 1 and 1.4 litre engines. Its an unfortunate looking all wheel drive vehicle better suited to a Lego movie, however, out on the open road, its fun, fast and very comfortable....

Bad looks? I think it's the best looking in its class 😂 thanks for review, bought one
Fantastic reliable and nippy.
I've got one of these and it's a fabulous drive. Really doesn't get enough credit for its driving experience. Loads of fun!
Great SUV.
That vitara is a cracking bit of gear for the money....once you’ve had a Suzuki your hooked for life .....even with big k’s one of the most reliable and thrashable Japanese small cars around
Suzuki has maintained a pretty distinct design Signiture from the outset. A very ATTRACTIVE, FUNCTIONAL and fun car. It's definitely in my short list!
Don't agree with your comments about the looks. I have the 1.4 booster jet and it a fantastic engine great acceleration and I'm getting 42 miles to the gallon. Enjoying the review👍
Thanks for the comment
Mm, this review seems to be a from negative perspective from the off. I can't agree. When I bought one I moved over from Skoda who have lost their once value for money tag. What tipped me towards the Vitara was it's comfort, leg room, big enough for my cycle (even 2 cycles) in the back and its fuel economy. I have the smaller engine but have not had a problem with that. All in all, better than my many Skodas and my one car fling with Seat.
Never understood the obsession with hard or soft plastics in these reviews, I couldn’t give a sh@t!
Best comment and totally agree
I think they are actually harder wearing
Great review. My vitara is being delivered tomorrow. I cant wait. Thanks for your honesty
Thanks for the comment
Terrible review as the car is fantastic. Plastics suit their purpose and I'm happy with them. Easy to clean and look the part. I don't drive feeling the need to touch them all the time. Nonsense.
If the steering wheel is set to high - why not adjust it..?
Great reviews and I love the way you explain in a way the it should be explained. Also I love hand break pulling rather than pressing.
Worst review ever.. not everyone has the money for top range SUV’s... for the money it’s a good car..
Doesn't help if you're born clumsy does it?
A clever guy, skratchy plastics and uggly design right up front and then he univeles all the good parts and yes it is a truly marvolus car.
I simply love my Vitara kind of a small Landrover.
You sit in the car, and first thoughts are 😊nice driving position😊great visibility😊everything in its place and functional, not flashy. 😊Oh, and a nice clock in the middle.
I for one, did not start scratching plastics on my impressive test drive. I like the square cup holders, they take cartons or bottles.
Styling and design is personal choice as it should be, but really glad to see the car won you over in the end! 😃Edit to say in Japan a lot of drinks come in square cartons.
Great comment Thankyou
@@AJThePlayerCZcamsChannel you know nothing about the car , sorry, the vitara is one wonderful car, and she' s much beautiful, also in design
Good review, nothing wrong with voicing a personal opinion, most other reviewers do the same at some point. I’m considering buying the manual Allgrip but I am pretty indifferent to life in the back seats for the odd occasion I’ve got a car full of people. They could do a parcel shelf that’s as stiff as you like but it would be heavier and cost more but it’s only function is to cover the boot area. I’ll take the parcel shelf hide-away over a solid parcel shelf anytime. Regarding the dash and door plastics, my Seat Leon FR is kitted out with the same ratio of soft/hard plastics both of which look identical until you start pressuring them and most of us don’t really handle the dash, only the buttons/controls/steering wheel etc. Reviewers of my Leon don’t seemed as concerned with hard plastics. I think sometimes people have it in for Suzuki. It’s worth mentioning that hard plastics are tough and easy to keep clean and in 15 years time they will look the same. All said, it’s good to hear what you say about how it drives, that for me was the clincher. Cheers.
Thanks for an amazing comment couldn’t agree more with you
Thanks for your comment really appreciated.
Hard plastics.I buy are car too drive and enjoy , not to fondle the plastics.🚗🏴
Couldn’t agree more
Great vid we have been looking at cars and we looked at a Ford eco sport line looks great and drives well as you said in a previous longer vid but no mention of the potential engine problems with the wet belt, after getting feedback from other sources we went for the Vitara and we found it a great Car for a SUV which has a stronger engine (booster jet) chain driven hopefully it won’t let us down. I thought most older ladies would drive a Honda Jazz not a Vitara, keep the vids coming
Good car, crap reviewer. Poor styling says the old balding man wearing TU jeans and white trainers! 🤨
Took several SUVs out on test drives, for me the Vitara SZ5 1.4 auto mild hybrid is great. All most people need is the front wheel drive, it's quicker and lighter. On a motorway run over 50mpg around the doors 40+ mpg
So which engine was in this please?
You'll always get us Suzuki drivers sticking up for our motors lol. The new Vitara ain't got the looks, off road ability, or size of the previous grand Vitara but I acknowledge they had to get with the times to survive. Man, I still eye up those 2.4 L, fuel guzzling GVs though.
Fair comment
"A very very small cubby box" Are you having a laugh, you could fit a dozen mobile phones in there. Steering wheel a bit high? it's adjustable fore and aft up and down. The auto box only goes past the drive setting into manual mode if you pull it back too far, when it's in neutral just ease it back into drive there is no need to pull the release button in.
Good honest review. Personally I like the looks in the right colour, grey or black look good especially in 'S' trim.
Cover the negatives but focus on the positives a lot more and be realistic about where the car sits in the market. the passion and positivity of driving was great to see but you need that passion at the start. I would guess your retention on the video is not great as it looks like your hate the car. It’s like 2 different reviews
Comment appreciated and diagnosis correct
Is doing the Dacia Duster and the Subaru XV among your not so distant plans? Thank you.
Both cars definitely on our hit list as long as they are available from the manufacturer. Thanks for the comment
Good review, but no need to be so forceful with your personal feelings, ie the looks etc.
Thanks for the comment and point taken
No it's not a good review. Underestimation a la Jerremy Clarkson
Thanks for the comment, I always appreciate a professional critic!
Don’t give up the day job, car reviewer you ain’t. It’s a Suzuki not a Range Rover
Air vents sound nice🤔
Good constructive comment thankyou
Hahahahaha the guy has the look of a poor guy that has been driving a corolla or avensis for his whole life! don't blame him, he cannot quite understand how a beautiful or fun car looks like!
Merciless review. Did you have any ancestor fighting in Burma during the ww II?
Yes on the auto there is no gate where you push it over to select manual, you just move it past Auto position. Never had a problem when selecting drive and ending up in manual 1st gear. You must be pulling too hard on the selector stick.
" It Ain't a Rangey ", great for the price many other reviewers rave about it. What car is your daily driver ??
Ironically my daily drive is a 96 disco. I absolutely love it And it has done me proud for over 10 years. Thanks for the comment always appreciated
Really bad rewiev lol. “It has only 2 or 3 mods so it shouldnt be hard to use....” vitara has 4 mods and all are diffrent hahah
"The steering wheel is a bit High" do not realise the steering wheel can be easily adjusted ?
36 mpg is a lot, these cars can easy do 50 mpg plus.
He needed a drink before doing this. But wasn't allowed.
Whinging Pom comes to mind!
Typically intelligent comment from down under.
Wouldn’t want to let you down AJ 😉 At least you loved it in the end. I’ve been looking for a reasonably priced suv and the Vitara is top of my list at the moment. Cheers 🍻
I have the 1.0 turbo booster Manual SZT 2 wheel drive. I think the car looks good, the build quality isn’t great but the engine and gearbox are absolutely fantastic . I believe Toyota have bought into Suzuki for their small car knowledge, if Toyota built the body and Suzuki make the engines and gearboxes the new Vitara will be fantastic but a few grand more.
What a 🔔🔚
Subjective comments about the style ...
Purposely negative trying to provoke controversy badly done
Or maybe the car is rubbish
Stop bitching about the plastic inside pls. Everybody is a copy of eachother doing reviews. The rest is al lot of negative comments, all personal.
The worst and most unprofessional review ever!
Thanks for the comment pleased you liked it
Lot of critical comments here. I found it honest - that’s what I like

What a crap review!!!
