    Hi, you asked what the automatic gearbox was like for driving. After having the car for 8 months I'm delighted with it. The 6 speed auto gearbox is really good a bs smooth. You hardly notice the gear changing either up or down the box. Normal driving it changes at about 2000 revs, with instant acceleration if you put your foot down for overtaking. The auto stop start function works well in traffic. If you select the sport mode, it unleashes a completely different beast. Fast acceleration with gear changes at 4000 revs a d with the 50/50 front and rear drive, it corners like it's on rails! Really good fun on bendy roads! As for the hard plastic that people seem to moan about, as I'm not a plastic fondler it does bother me and it's really easy to keep clean. The boot space with the seats down is plenty big enough, I can fit my complete drum kit in there no problem. Finally, a top of the range car for under 25000 euros with all the bells and whistles,,,, brilliant.

    I've got one. The review is pretty much spot on. The engine economy gets better once you get around 6k on the clock. On an economy run I can get the MPG into the mid 50s.

    Decent review guys!
    I only have eyes for my new Suzuki jimny. Everything else pales in comparison
    A Jimny Vs. Vitara comparison video would be an awesome and massively popular..... "almost viral video".
    You may want to do such a video, I for one would be glued to my screen, as i'm sure others would.
    On another note, have you noticed the complete "disconnect" regarding reality vs reviewer with the new suzuki jimny?? Only your channel, and a handful of others have portrayed the new jimny in its true light. The wild variations in opinion on the new jimny has been shocking. It really got my goat how at least 80% of reviewers got the jimny totally wrong! Shocking it was.

      I wasn't that fussed about the plastics coming from a swift. The 1.4 engine with the 6 spd manual box is a gem and (if you want to chuck it about) handles much better than you'd think a car of its size could do. It really is a lot of fun!

    • @PlanetautoUK
      @PlanetautoUK  Před 4 lety

      That's true - we found it to handled well.
      What do you think of the S-Cross?

    • @honeylongwood
      @honeylongwood Před 4 lety +2

      @@PlanetautoUK it's a different form factor than the Vitara, so maybe a little less capable over rough terrain, but there's probably not that much to separate the two. Just depends on what type of styling you prefer (although I wasn't a fan of the s-cross headlights, and I needed a bit more ride height for when it snows in Wales, which is why I opted for the Vitara). There are other equally capable all wheel drive vehicles, but I liked the look of the Vitara (sort of a mini old school range rover look) and it's not as pretentious as other suv's. Plus Suzuki have a habit of chucking in a lot of kit that you'd normally end up have to spend a lot more money on to get with other manufacturers. It just put a huge smile on my face when I test drove one!

    • @PlanetautoUK
      @PlanetautoUK  Před 4 lety +1

      Yes, we’d agree with that, the most capable we’ve experienced is the Jimny, we love everything about it, and had it cross axle in our off-road video.

    Silverdale beach car park is a lovely place But it isn't a place to display the off road credentials of that Vitara - at least not if you avoid the grass and the sand and stay on the stones. An old fashioned Issigonis Mini could do all that you showed (I've done it there). I don't doubt that this new Vitara is off-road capable to some good extent and it would have been nice to see something that tested its capabilities. Maybe you didn't show the difficult bits that would defeat an ordinary family car. Edgar

    • @PlanetautoUK
      @PlanetautoUK  Před 4 lety +2

      True, this is to show it can cope with uneven terrain, If you want to see off roading check out the Jimny in Grizedale, this vehicle is capable enough for light off-roading.

    • @edgariredale7062
      @edgariredale7062 Před 4 lety +2

      @@PlanetautoUK Thanks for the quick response. The point I was trying to make was that I didn't see anything there that I'd consider uneven terrain - it's just a rough car park of the kind to be found in the countryside. A place like that is simple in pretty well any car. Go again on a busy weekend and see the cars that can cope. I'd be surprised to find anything that couldn't unless it had extremely low ground clearance. It would have been really extraordinary if that Vitara couldn't get about there. That's not "off-road capable".
      Nevertheless I enjoyed your video! It was nice to see that beach again.
      Thank you

      @PlanetautoUK  Před 4 lety +1

      Edgar Iredale this location is also 300 yards from our house, the far end of the beach near the Fisherman’s cottages is more rough, high ground clearance is needed, the Jimny was close to hitting a few large rocks, thank you - the X Class was also driven on there as was ZS EV, it’s a beautiful location and breaks the norm of terrain.
