Can u explain more on daisy chain? How to connect 3 hardwares to the mv8800 without having a patch bay. For example: Billy have a korg workstation, moog Synth, roland tr8s and a roland vs2480. What can he do with that if he didn't need the 2480. Best of luck man...
So this is the issue I'm having: When I'm sequencing with my external modules (Yamaha Motif Rack ES)? That first note on the downbeat? Bar 1? Is missing. On the "loop around" it comes back as normal. Not sure what's up. But if I use the synth from the MV? The sounds lay down as normal on that Bar 1

@@daltonpearsall8985 thanks for asking. That way will not work, unfortunately. It has to be a controller with midi connectors. Look for an old Roland PCR-300 for example. Cheap and sufficient for what you want to do.
I tried getting my Yamaha midi keyboard to work with my mv8000 but I can only seem to get the keyboard to trigger my MV but I cannot get the midi keyboard to play it's built in instruments , it's as if the keyboard is not producing sound thru midi.
Hi! To play with the sounds of the Yamaha you need to connect a cable from midi in on Yamaha to midi out on MV. Choose Out-A. To play the sounds of the MV with the keyboard you need to connect the midi in on the MV to the midi out on the Yamaha. Don’t use Thru. Now, when selecting a track to do recording you need to select a patch. When you don’t select a patch you need to set the parameter on Midi out- A to tell the MV that it send a midi signal to midi out A. Make sure the midi channels match. Hopefully I explain it right to you. Good luck.
Hi! Ok, you connected it right👌🏽. Let me think. PCR is powered externally and not through USB? Check page 56 of the manual to activate the midi connectors. Perhaps that’s the solution. Keep me informed.
hi great videos, love the channel:) question: do you know if the mv8000 can record multiple midi channels (from external midi source) onto separate tracks simultaneously? I like to record midi guitar which transmits midi on channels 1-6 at the same time. I use Cirklon but this feature is still in the works... so far the only hardware sequencer ive found that does this is the QY700. thanks for reading:)
Hi! Thanks for your comment and question. The MV can’t do that, unfortunately but my MC-50 and MC-500 are having that function. From the same era as the QY700 ;)

Hi There Great video. Question: when I connect my external hardware via midi to the MV-8000, I can't seem to get the "program" function in the "track parameter" to change my patch sound. (As seen here about 4 min in.) Would you tell me how I can do that? Thanks.
Bob Rob J hi! Thanks for passing by and dropping a question. What hardware do you use? Perhaps it receives MSB/LSB to change programs. Or a midi filter is set. Thanks for your reply.
Bob Rob I searched for a manual of your rack but there’s not much to find. Apparently you’re not the only only one having difficulties with program changes. There should be a program change enable on/off function available on the m4000D, according to the quick manual I found here. www.dropbox.com/s/g8ca7jlpa5i59qj/M4000D%20instructions.pdf?dl=0 Anyway, good luck!

That’s how I can play and record all equipment with my MV. I hope this was the answer you were looking for. Grtzzz, Roger
