    GREAT review. Tried these on the other day and was blown away by the value proposition on these. The leather is really super soft....dont think there is a better upper in this price range. Nike is KILLING it with this tiempo lineup. Thank you very much for reviewing a takedown in this price range. A lot of kids cant afford super duper expensive shoes and this model proves that you can still get a terrific boot for a fraction of the cost.

    dude i am so happy i stumble upon your channel. i really wanted to buy a leather boot for cheap price. Because of this video i went to try out ligera 4 and it fits my perfectly. the best thing is i bought it for £42 or roughly 55 dollars now. As i am not a pro or semi pro player i see no value in buys boots that are 200 dollars

    Hi Josh, I just started playing football again. I bought a pair ligera 4’s. Perfect fit and good comfort. But after 5-6 training sessions I started feeling a pressure point in the right foot. Just in middle of the front foot. Any Way to fix it or is it just new pair of boots?
    Thanks in advance ;)

    40 EU fits me perfectly length wise but I can't stand the pressure from the width. 41 has almost a thumb space in front which is not ideal. I don't know if 40 would stretch. Do you consider it as a wide feet boot?

    Josh, I know both boots are very different, but which one do you recommend for a better touch and lockdown: Phelon 3 or Ligera 4?
    The ligera 4 in my country is about 20 reais more expensive, which is about 9 dollars, which is kind of a big difference for us here.

    • @Soccerreviewsforyou
      @Soccerreviewsforyou  Před 7 lety +3

      Neither one has a better touch, they're just different. If you want the feel of soft padded leather, definitely the Ligera is the one to get. If you prefer a thinner feel, the Phelon is what you want. Feel and touch is a preference, so you have to decide on what you like more.

      Generally the more old-school boots will have shorter studs and thicker soleplates that make them better suited for harder ground. Something like a Copa Mundial wouldn't be a bad option. You can get away with wearing most boots on hard ground though.

    My size in veloce 3 df is 8.5 US so should I go half size down in these or stay on 8.5?

    • @Soccerreviewsforyou
      @Soccerreviewsforyou  Před 6 lety

      The Mercurials run true to size, the Tiempos run half a size small. I would go half a size up.

    Between these and the original tiempo legacy, which is the better option? Basically does the legacy hold up well enough tech wise that it would be a better choice over this shoe

    • @Soccerreviewsforyou
      @Soccerreviewsforyou  Před 7 lety +1

      The original Legacy is a still a great boot. It doesn't have some of the elements included on the latest Tiempo generation, but they're still very capable boots.

      Thanks for the quick reply! After some thought I'll get the original Legacy. I've also watched a bunch of your videos - even on shoes I don't plan on buying - and I love your reviews. Definitely one of my go to channels for anything boot related, keep up the great work!

    Adidas focusing on making everything laceless. Nike focusing on putting more laces where there used to be none, even on cheaper models.

    Hey Josh, do you think that the Legia was worth Nike killing off the Genios and is it worth the increase in cost too?

    • @Soccerreviewsforyou
      @Soccerreviewsforyou  Před 7 lety +1

      They just changed the name, they didn't really kill the Genio. $5 is also an extremely minor price increase, especially considering how much better the quality is in comparison to the Genio model this replaces.

    How would you compare these with the Nike Premier 2?

    • @Soccerreviewsforyou
      @Soccerreviewsforyou  Před 7 lety

      They're both very good. Premiers definitely have a better quality upper, but the difference is still pretty minimal, especially once broken in. Stud patterns also are quite a bit different between the two. The Premiers also cost $35 more. Both awesome boots.

      Leather for the most part feels like leather. Two leather boots from the same brand that have similar uppers will feel quite similar.

    Hi Josh, just asking if calf skin or kangaroo skin is more durable on a pair of soccer cleats?

    • @Soccerreviewsforyou
      @Soccerreviewsforyou  Před 6 lety

      It really depends more on the specific shoe and the overall construction, rather than type of leather it is.

      @@tevinparker8189 yup they still are.
      leather is actually very nice once broken in, don't think i'd pay more than 100 USD for leather boots really.
      also the ridges are very thought out, it i like how it creases when you're sprinting on your toes; tongue stays in place because bands hold it in on the sides. It's a very well designed boot. The fake flywire is as effective as the real flywire i have on my 100 dollar nike running shoes. Clearly whoever designed it thought about how to make it good.
      Only complaint was that it took a while to break in the back heel area because that's the non leather part. Had to do more backyard sessions than i expected before i knew i wouldn't get heel blisters in game.
      Also it's good on ag, the soleplate is the optimal stiffness for it i think. I used to have FG boots that were too flexible so the cleats caused pressure points on my feet. The tiempos don't have this problem.
