INSIDE the Blue Tent | NFL Concussion Testing Explained

  • Football concussions are one of the most common sports injuries. The NFL concussion policy has come under a lot of scrutiny and I'm here to help give a more simple look at how players are evaluated for a concussion in the NFL.
    All of this information can be found publicly online, at sites like this
    bit.ly/2x1fEml but most people don't really understand all of the tests. I hope this video helps clarify the concussion screening process and gives a look inside that sideline blue medical tent!

      Imo it’s the huge amount of muscle gained and the increase in pt. Same problem as the nfl with the technology and sports medicine knowledge we have nowadays. bones are meant to handle normal and occasionally strenuous things not cuts and quick hard pressure at an angle 82 games a year plus the entire playoffs and finals in steph’s case

      Glenn Turner i know it sound weird, but when the players dont have protection, they dont hit each other so hard, because they hurt themselve too. With protection you can hit somebody with full speed and walk away like nothing, try the same without protection and then you have two injured players.

    There's really no way to stop concussions short of putting substantially more space between the surface of the head and the surface of the helmet or point of impact. Some kind of bubble head might be the answer. Though it may look too goofy to play in

    • @brokenwave6125
      @brokenwave6125 Před 5 lety +1

      But that increases the chance of neck injury. The farther helmets are from the skull, the more leverage they provide to whip the neck around.

I tore my ACL ligaments in my knees and I’m gonna have to have artificial knee replacements as will anyone else who tears their ACL at a young age. Is it breeding hypochondriac in players and in dr to intervene to often and to much ?
    And is their any death and despair threshold models for nfl staff?
    I know our national emergency virus deaths and despair model was thrown in the trash so this is something greater than just sports medicine.

    The blue tent is the beginning of the end for the NFL...which is actually a good thing for the young athletes. Any sport where the risk af having a devastating injury to the point of having something like a "blue tent " is not a safe sport. Football is a sport in which every player looks to slam his body into another body trying to inflict damage without catching any injury himself, but in our political correctness environment we should not take advantage of an unguarded player who knows the risks of the sport to begin with......it is such an ironic scenario. Now , the problem is that every player, coach or fan want to see everyone involved giving their maximum effort for the sake of the sport/show but, at the same time every one hast to "be safe" ......what a conundrum
