    They are awesome, super happy with them. One point: if you build a home theater full of folded motion tweeters, the treble is additive, so yea ... EQ is your friend.

    Thanks so much for this comprehensive review, as I've been interested in the F200's for some time now. I wish I had jumped on a great deal that was presented to me. They seem like the ideal all-around speaker for me and my 50/50 two-channel music/movies mix.
    I've heard the F200/F100 several times at audio shops and what struck me is the sheer mid range power and lack of compression on loud transients such as rim shots and snare drum shots. Also, the natural sound, brilliance, and power of brass instruments such as the big trombone sound on the right channel of Trombone Shorty's Neph. At the audio shop, this trombone had all the "blatty" sound of a real trombone in the room. Also, the bass didn't seem to be boosted, at least in that room. And the tweeters sounded great to me, just clean and powerful, yet without harshness.

      I agree. Brass and hard piano key and drum shots are realistically sharp without sounding distorted. They are impactful like in real life. Thanks for the comments!

    Thank you for the comprehensive review. I loved that you gave your thoughts on other speaker options. I've been on the fence for the MLs for awhile. I would love for you to also give your thoughts on the center channel and the MP10s.

      I just dropped the MP10 review. I don't have the C100 anymore but I think it's a great center. The 2.5 way design does work better than a regular MTM. The MLP sounds the best but It also sounds good from either side of axis however, I do believe if you measure each side off axis, the response will not be the same so each side hears something a little different. Still good, just not the same. You can't be in both spots at once so the only way to know it is to jump back and forth during scenes listening for it. I hop that helps!

    Great review. Well, you sold me on these. I am going to be using these for 2 channel music, not theater. I appreciate you reviewing these. Not many on the internet. I was going to go with the Arendal 1723, but I saw these, and liked the looks of them better.

    Thanks for this great review. I know it's the f200's we're reviewing here, but I have to ask - Do you or anyone here have experience with, or a qualified guess on how the Anthem MRX 1140 Receiver would handle the f100's for 2ch and 5.1ch. The 1140 is amazing and have a lot of power for a receiver and works really good on my 8ohm Polk ES60 2.1 and 5.1 setup, but I worry a little bit about how it would handle the 4ohm f100's speakers, specially in a 5.1 setup and if I were to get Martin Logans Center and surround speakers as well.

    Got my F100's based on Andrew's review. The speakers are really great for HT and music. I would love to hear these with your Anthem to compare against my NAD. Dirac has really made a difference with these.

    Your conpression issues on the Arendals must be a bad tweeter or something else. The arendals are thx certified and measured by tons of reviewers and are know to perform at high spl. I own the 1723s towers and have no problems whatsoever. Watched dune 2 at reference and it was great. That soundtrack true hd is no joke. 😂

    21:10 There have been a few reports of these baffle issues being warped from F100 & F200 owners, it doesn't instil much confidence nor does it bode well for long-term durability, certainly not something I'd expect from a quality manufacturer like Martin Logan especially their "flagship" floorstander product, the F200 has a RRP of $9999 in Australia which is crazy, sure street prices are much less but still even at $7999 AUD those build quality issues are of major concern :(

    • @hifihometheater

    I really enjoyed this review, especially since you provided in room measurements, and the comparisons, especially with your previous ownership of the Arendal towers.
    I had a question about the compression issues you ran into. So even with the EQ applied and crossed two competent subs, you'd still get treble distortion? Was this consistent with only high spl? And was it exclusive to the front towers, or the other speakers in the lineup too?
    Do you plan to review the rest of the lineup? I see you've got MP10s as surrounds, and I'm curious how those hold up, compression wise, since they're being asked to keep up with the towers, and the rest of the system.

    • @hifihometheater
      @hifihometheater  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Glad you enjoyed the video. The compression on the 1723S' was noticeable at high levels right at or a few db above reference. Crossed over to subs at 80Hz. It was just the front towers. 5-10 db below reference they still sounded great. It was during a get-together. I assumed the nasty sound was from the tweeter but I didn't want to replicate it to investigate further lol. I get a lot of questions about the MP10's so I think I'll do a short video this week on them

    Wasn’t worth it to me when you can pick up a pair of 60TXi’s on close out for 2 grand. The F200’s are great but at $2749.99 each my decision was an easy one. The 60TXi’s look great in Red Oak too! 👍
