Good video except for when you disconnected the steering wheel all you had to do was push the shaft up and you could have slid the belt right out instead of taking all that other stuff apart.
I feel your pain. I have the same mower and mine will mow ok for the first hour and then it will stop going up hills. I have about 212 hours on mine. Wishful thinking told me to go buy new belts. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was the transmission 😢.
Did this belt change completely remedy the hill climbing issue? That’s what’s going on with mine at the moment. It has gotten progressively worse, I thought it was the transmission going out but hopefully this will fix it. Getting ready to order one as soon as I post this comment.
Do these transmissions have a belt tension adjustment? My D160 is working okay, but I can push the accelerator pedal all the way to the floor and that seems like a little loose, but I only have one data sample by which to judge. TIA...
Ricktpt1 it’s just a spring tensioner, if it’s not your belt it’s probably your transmission slipping, it sucks but seems like those trans don’t last long 🤦🏻♂️
It's not slipping. I'm just not a fan of being able to press the pedal all the way to the footboard. From having driven vehicles with Hydraulics my entire life I like to feel some "pushback" on the pedal, but this isn't a hydraulic system. NBD, thanks for the clarification. I haven't had a problem yet, but we'll see. I thought I posted a reply, but I don't see it now. Maybe it was on another page...

Yea true. I realized that after I did all that extra work 😅
You don't need to unbolt they steering carriage. Just slide the steer shaft up a bit. Also the rear belt keeper is a 15mm. Your welcome.
Never buy a John Deere. Your welcome 😅

Thanks a lot for this video; you saved me a good deal of anguish!
Good video I’m doing mine this weekend, thanks
Belt didn’t help, it was a bad transmission
He took apart way more than he needed to. Mine took about an hour.
@@rbell4201 mine took 12 min and 54 sec
@@L8R-HP took me 45 minutes to get that friggin pin out of the transmission housing.
I always feel like I'm down at the club when I'm mowing my acre and a quarter of suburbia. Now that feeling can continue while I'm fixing my ride.
Missing the spring on that dual tensioner
Awesome content you deserve more subscribers
playing rap music through the whole video will help it go viral and get him more subscribers

Belt didn’t fix issue. Had to replace transmission
Nice video
How did you do when you got to the clutch drive on the motor shaft? You didn’t show that part in the video
No picture of what belt on it looks like!
Does that front pulley have a key weight in it? Mine slid down and got the floor...if it had a kw I can't find it..
I don’t remember, sorry it’s been a while. And I sold it not long after that video and got a 0 turn.
@@L8R-HP that's ok, it was up in the electric clutch. All is good...
@@braddfinch9318 nice! 👍
It's only keyed
@@anguslean4058 I was able to fix it. I found the key

Ricktpt1 my other video shows how I replaced the transmission at 99 hours.

I can't hear you talking.
👌🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Nobody cares bout your car, bro. 3 minutes in to the video and my IQ has dropped 10 points. Time to jet!
Miller Lite your IQ must be pretty low if you’re watching a John Deere video on a Sunday morning.
@@L8R-HP It wasnt Sunday morning, genius. There's other time zones in this world besides yours believe it or not.
Miller Lite very nice comeback 👍🤘
@@L8R-HP likewise
