    In this video, we will be finishing our dive into the world of Honda jets and up this series using Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. This video is perfect for beginners who are new to the Honda jet or for those who want to improve their skills in flying this aircraft. The video is number three out of a multipart series! Look for future content and live streams flying the Honda Jet!
    We start at cruise and prepare for decent. We then navigate downhill following the approach into Aspen, and proceed to land in a heavy crosswind.
    To make the video more interesting, we have chosen a difficult approach into Aspen that is atypical of a normal approach. The jet in the video is produced by FlightFX, which is a top-of-the-line aircraft designer known for their high-quality jets.
    Throughout the video, we provide step-by-step instructions and tips on how to master the Honda jet, making it easy for you to follow along and understand the process. We also provide helpful annotations and explanations to ensure that you have a clear understanding of each step.
    Whether you're a beginner or an experienced pilot, this video is sure to provide you with valuable information on how to fly the Honda jet using Microsoft Flight Simulator. So, grab your flight gear and join us on our journey as we take to the skies in the Honda jet.
    This video is for home use only from the comforts of your computer chair or full blown simulator! (I need to be your co-pilot if you have a full cockpit sim, invites welcome!)

    I change my minimums during pre flight to a radio altimeter setting of 250FT to keep it from screaming pull up at me in flight. That way when I am making my final if I can't see the runway in bad weather at 250 feet I initiate a go around.

      MSFS aircraft seem to have overly sensitive GPWS alerts. With this being such a steep approach at over 6 degrees it’s not surprising to hear it going off. Normal airports it’s probably not as much of a nuisance

    The only difference I see in the cruise profile between you and I so far is I hit the speed dial to go from system to manual. The FMS will put your speed right up on the barber pole. The problem with that is if you hit a pocket of wind sheer and suddenly gain speed, you can over stress the aircraft. I had an aircraft break up in the sim because of that so using auto throttle I give myself a small buffer zone between my selected cruising speed and the barber pole.

      Another option is to disable damage, while unrealistic it does prevent you from getting a random weather update or crack in the terrain model from ruining a perfectly good flight. That’s up to the user though.

    I also noticed that you were flying at 29,000 feet and had not changed over to Standard Barometer, as soon as you cross 18,000 feet you change over by hitting the Barometer button.

    That was a nice landing though, in this aircraft in particular I have bounced the crap out of it leading to several crashes. Great series of video though as I am working hard to try and master the Honda Jet. Do you do VR at all?

      Thanks! I find the Honda jet to land pretty well most of the time. Not quite as smooth as an airliner but it’s got enough weight to it that it doesn’t feel like a C152 or vision jet on landing.
      I do not currently have a VR headset but it’s something I’ve considered. I do a lot of VATSIM so I’d have to figure out how to manage writing and charting

      @@nocturnalsimulations If you are thinking about it, I would recommend the HP Reverb G2. I had an Oculus Quest 2 and its performance was so inconsistent, both FPS and visually that in a fit of rage I slammed it down a bit to hard and broke it. I replaced it with a Reverb and it is a night and day difference in MSFS both visually and FPS wise.

    The one thing I have not used is VNAV, is it as simple as hitting the button on the control panel or do you have to input your altitudes when you are inputting your flight plan?

    • @nocturnalsimulations
      @nocturnalsimulations  Před rokem

      That was something I must have forgotten on this flight, good catch! Yes, at 18,000 in the USA you go over to STD

    • @nocturnalsimulations
      @nocturnalsimulations  Před rokem

      The Honda jet does a good job of pulling in the constraints from STARs. So you will see the VNAV altitudes program themselves in to your flight plan. It’s a nice feature!
