Tony Pergatelli is a low level bureaucrat in Purgatory - a claims adjustor for Death. Day in and day out, Tony reviews the files of the newly dead and decides singlehandedly whether they’re approved or denied to get into Heaven. He’s unqualified, unsure of himself and unbelievably burdened by the weight of his choices. It’s just one thing after another!
One of Tony’s files is reviewed and big errors are found, so Death sends him on a business trip to Heaven with Chad Bradley to personally deliver the bad news and transfer the client to Hell.

Chad Bradley is actually getting character development. Cool.
I knew there would be flaws to his character being shown at some point.
Tony too.
I kinda assumed they would eventually give him some development. Chad is supposedly perfect, but ended up in purgatory. So he has to have some reason for being there. Some moralistic grey area in his past that caused him to end up in purgatory first and work his way up to heaven.
I knew that positive attitude was fake >:)
Chad bradly tries to keep a act that everything is great but tony forces him to accept that stuff sucks and that sometimes the people who put up with you care about you more than those who you pretend are your friends

While previously it did seem like while he was somewhat of a narcissist, his attitude didnt come off as him making fun of Tony because he could, instead seeming like he did it in fun of Tony's negative attitude. But from what we saw now, it shows that he is indeed deliberately making fun of him to feel better with himself

We recorded scenes in single takes, sitting around a table. That's why Purgatony feels more conversational than our other stuff! It's partially improvised!
@@ExplosmEntertainment Holy shit, I always thought everything was scripted. I didn't know some of this stuff was done on the spot like that.
Do you record the lines and conversations first, and then do the animation if that's the case?
@@spastickid218 pretty much all animation is done after the voice acting.. the animators match up the lips to the recorded dialogue.

What they did is let us see a different side of Chad Bradley to realize that he is a 3 dimensional character.
He is also a loser and the only way he can brag and be cool is by being in purgatory, (that's why he prefers purgatory over heaven), now Tony and the audience know that everytime Chad Bradley is bragging, it's because he feel bad how the people above him treat him and therefore making Tony feel better because they are more similar that what he expected
Chad was never a Mary Sue... a Mary Sue is someone EVERYBODY likes... Chad is an insufferable chode and only Tony can see it...

I think Tony just didn't see Chad's problems as very significant compared to his own, and so his reaction was essentially, "Give me a break..." Chad still has it real good in Purgatory, while Tony still doesn't, so Tony doesn't have much sympathy.

Chad Bradley seems to be changing a bit. He seems to understand Tony more and I notice he isn't always smiling anymore. I have a feeling that Tony and Chad will meet at a middle ground. Tony will work harder and Chad will actually emote honestly.
