Hopefully an Oscar nomination and a win for Mr Nighy, he enriches every movie he’s in and it will be totally deserved.
An Oscar for Bill Nighy, I'd say it's, About Time! 😉
Good news, Just Been Nominated
I would love to see him win!! 🤩
He is just awesome, isn't he?
Doubt he will win, it's either Austin or Brendan, but it was a good perfomance tho
I just got back from seeing this film. Amazing. Touching, sad with a huge life lesson for all of us. I've been a fan of Nighy for ages and he more than deserves an Academy Award nomincation for his role in this film.

I was deeply moved by his performance.
“Bill Nighy in a role for which he will be remembered”- which can be said for every movie he’s been a part of.
Oh wow! Somebody remade my favorite Kurosawa movie and it actually looks really good. Can't wait.
Bill Nighy has the ability to convey deep emotion without saying a word. His expression, demeanour, body language and the way he holds his gaze is masterful. A truly sublime actor. The trailer is a tantalising glimpse of what, I'm sure, will be a superb film.....
Few Can Achieve That. ..in Film/Script and/or in Performer.🎭🎨👏👏👏
After Having the.. EXQUISITE Likes of JoyRide and Empire of Light royally SNUBBED Locally (🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄😑😶🙄🥴🤷♂️🤷♀️🤦♂️🤦♀️).. ...I'm Gonna try an' See This tonite. Was *FLOORED* To See this is in my immediate vicinity.. 🤯☺️😊😊😊
Just saw Love Actually (again) over the holidays. Bill Nighy in that movie and now this. I bow down in respect to this absolute master of his craft !🙏
Every now and again, a film comes out and brings a tear to your eye. So beautifully made and acted by everyone. For me, the scene with the policeman brought me comfort. Thank you.
I love every performance by Bill Nighy. I'm glad he is being recognized in such a big way for this film and for his amazing career.

This looks wonderful. Akira Kurosawa's "Ikiru," on which this film is based, is a beautiful and moving film, one of the three or four best I've ever seen in my life.
what are the other 3 or 4? I like good films too
@@DeSoccerRefMan For me, the other three are "Wings of Desire" (Wenders), "Contempt" (Godard), and "Prospero's Books" (Greenaway).
@@dbadagna brilliant choices!
Ikiru is in HBO Max if you want to see the original...
Yes, "Ikiru" is wonderful.
Everything about this movie was so emotional ,a life lesson for all . Bill Nighy was superb .
Bill Nighy an amazing actor a master of his trade, cannot wait to see this film ❤
Bill Nighy 👏❤️
I know as much as I will enjoy this, it's going to rip my heart out and kick it across the room.
Bill Nighy is a treasure.
The remake and reverent homage to Ishiguro’s ‘Living’ with screen play by Kashuo Ishiguro! Oh I do hope so much that Bill Nighy wins the Oscar for his flawless and sensitive performance.
This had me bawling lol. A brilliant film and I'm out of words for Bill Nighy.. he is just excellent!! 11/10
Just watched this film tonight. What a beautiful movie. Very emotional at the end. British film making at its best. Absolute 10 out of 10.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
There is more emotion and heart in this trailer than in most of the entire movies I've seen over the past 10 years. This film looks amazing and the acting impeccable. What a treat❤.
Just discovered Bill Nightly in the book shop and pride. What an undiscovered gem.
Nighy has been around a long time. Check out his filmography and enjoy his wonderful work. I remember seeing him on Broadway in "Skylight" with Carrey Mulligan.
I have loved him in every movie! Can’t wait to see this.
Bill Nighy.... The British Actor who sums up British acting. A voice to die for. Have a listen to him as Charles Paris in the Radio Drama, absolutely wonderful, especially if you like late 60s/70s music. I know that whenever he leaves this mortal world I will cry for the loss of one of the Great Actors of the last 50 plus years.
Who else looks so good in a lounge suit other than Bill Nighy 🤔😁😁
Wonderful film. Sad but also very uplifting. Everyone in the cast was terrific but especially Bill Nighy.

Bill Nighy has a skill, able to reach into that little of my heart that aches, often able to bring gently quiet tears.
As the greatest fan of Akira Kurosawa for more than 5 decades, I simply cannot wait to watch this soon-to-be another masterpiece!
A really wonderful movie with a poignant and moving performance by Bill Nighy as a man making up for lost time. He fully deserves his Best Actor Oscar nomination

@@RobertPaulson-tj2jv why no?
Bill Nighy could read the weather and I would be totally engrossed. And then to add Tom Burke and Alex Sharpe? Well, even better. This looks amazingly beautiful and heartfelt. Can't wait!
I just finished this. It was lovely. I had a few cries. 😢😊
Living life to the fullest and finding your purpose is the message I'm taking from this film 🎩🖤
Really starting to discover Bill Nighy, I loved his performance in 'About Time', this movie hits the spot too!
One of the greatest films I have ever watched
I was betting on Brendan for the Oscar win but after watching this. Bill should get the oscar.
I am in love with this trailer! It's so beautiful, whimsical and heartfelt.

Thank you so much for this cinematherapy...it was much needed. Have to admit I cried like a baby...it was so, so moving...
Have not seen the movie yet, but I have never been disappointed by Bill Nighy!
What a gift he is !
Indeed he is. 🙌
I have no words to express how much I admire this person. He is just brilliant
Saw it today and cried my eyes out. SO GOOD!
Haven't even seen it yet, and crying my eyes out just watching the trailer!
...and those of us who feel we're in this same place wonder if we should do the same, or be content with routine and make sure we're doing what's best for our children. Perhaps embracing experience is -in fact - the best example we can set.
Bill Nighy is always riveting. This is loosely derived from a film of Kurosawa's that was itself a cinematic tribute to Leo Tolstoy's "Death of Ivan Ilyich." In that short story, there's not a whole lot of human connection. This seems, honestly, much better than Tolstoy.
I have to agree, this is much better than Tolstoy. But I would also say "Living" isn't so much "loosely derived" from "Ikiru", as a fairly faithful remake in a different cultural setting. I have both this film and Kurosawa's "Ikiru" on DVD. The story and characters are basically the same, as is the order of events. There are few if any significant differences. Even a little of the cinematic style of "Living" pays homage to Kurosawa. The dialogue is similar in each film.
The biggest differences are the staging of the funeral, for obvious cultural reasons, and the fact that post war Tokyo in 1952 black and white is a much grittier proposition than post war London in 2022 colour.
I would seriously recommend everyone who sees "Living" to then watch Kurosawa's "Ikiru", if they haven't already seen it.
Bill Night, is a great actor
this film is worth watching for Aimee Lou Wood''s beautiful voice.
Fantastic movie that could be set in absolutely any time and place that humans have existed with not exactly the same story but same lesson to learn so much from. ❤
"Living" is but a remake of a 1952 B&W Kurosawa film IKIRU (Living in Japanese), one of the best films ever made... I recommend that version
Saw an advance screening. Touching beautiful film
His work/performance in The Man Who Fell To Earth was his best ever IMO. If he is as good in this new movie by a fraction, than he is assured an Oscar.
This looks wonderful, but I so wish to see Bill in another comedic character like like he was in Love actually--he was one of a kind funny!!
Thank God for such movies!
Excellent setting: GLC had not changed very much up until Ken Livingstone times! Name change to GLA was more of the same!! :) Beautifully acted and a real chemistry between the protagonists. Very clever editing and cinematography. Brilliant casting. No I am not a bot, its just the way I walk and talk! :) And I simply love the cinema and we do not get very much of it these days! But above all I adored the pace... Must have been a real treat the day when they all read the first script... BRAVO/ BRAVA!!!
Bill Nighy knows how to captivate the audience. Always.

He is such a wonderful actor. I cannot wait to see this movie!!
Just watched this today; what a beautiful, emotional movie, with life lessons for all. Anything with Mr Nighy touches me deeply and this does exactly that.
Bill Nighy being his amazing self yet again.
Thank you for letting us know about this one.
A tale for the soul.❤
no. thumbs down
I always look for more of Bill Nighy's work! Thanks.
Dear Bill Nighy, te deseamos lo mejor. Eres invaluable.
The Rowan Tree
Can you please release it, earliest!
I heard the song for the first time... Searched you tube for a full version as sung by Bill Nighy... But couldn't find it.
🙏
Excellent movie. I love B Fraser but gosh I love Bill Nighy too and he did an excellent job(as always).
Enduring and beautifully sentimental.
Just saw this last night and really liked it. Some will think it’s boring, but it’s not a movie for those people.
Bill Nighy is a great talent and lively voice that will never be forgotten! ❤❤❤🎶🎶
It's not fair to say Nighy will be remembered "for this film" as if we didn't know and love him already.
It does look amazing, though.
This is somewhat a remake of "Ikiru", a 1950s classic for anyone who wants to watch. A must watch for sure too.
Tall, thin, well mannered British..... Not many around here, are they?? Forever a fan since Underworld franchise.
Don't forget Davy Jones in POC 2
Best film playing in theaters right now. I think it's even better than "Banshees."
i just dont get why this needed to be made. Ikiru is a film that still holds up.
Nighy's performance was definitely Oscar worthy!
This movie was absolutely outstanding.
Bill Nighy finally got his first Oscar nomination for Best Actor in a Leading Role. As much as I wanted Brendan Fraser to win even though Colin Farrell is the frontrunner to prevail, I think BILL NIGHY DESERVES TO WIN THIS! What are your thoughts?
please do not screw this up. it's one of my favorite Kurosawa movies
I am going to see this tonight, I cannot wait. I love Bill Nighy, such a wonderful talented man! ❤
My only regret was not being able to watch this in cinema. The film is a visual feast.
Some people are just special 🙂 Great Performance.
I just watched this movie and it leaves with a life time message. Let’s be kind to one another and don’t for get to LiVe!
Film of a bygone era in which Nighy fits perfectly.
Just finished watching it. What a wonderful movie.
Just give him the Oscar now and be done with it !
"A role fpr which he will be remenbered" ?????
Geez... you're late on that... the MAN IS A LEGEND!!!!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This is a British adaptation of Ikiru, by Akira Kurosawa. Brilliant work. 👏
Brilliant movie…. cinema at it’s best. Thank you
Bill Nighy was amazing a must watch.
Looking forward to seeing this. I love Bill Nighy in everything he is in.
See it. See it now. Turn off your computer and leave your home immediately.
You will thank me later.
Regardless of his screening time Bill Nighy shines. Always
Fantastic film...Well done Mr. NIghy and entire cast...from Portugal...😉👏
omg, what a film, thoroughly enjoyed it and Bill Nighy was fantastic in it as well as a brilliant supporting cast.....what i liked about it most was how we all realise that life is short and we need to live each day to its fullest, the problem is we only feel like this when something bad happens, we lose a loved one who has possibly wasted their life never achieving anything or just doing the same every day.....we then vow to never be like that and live our life better, just like the man who would take over his job at the end but sadly he turns out exactly the same.....so why do we very quickly forget these promises we make to ourselves, to live life to the fullest, to do the things we've always wanted to do, go travelling, start our own business, go to the theatre more, go to a restaurant we've always wanted to go to, what happens to our brain to forget the promise we made to ourself???
Watched it last night. Everyone should see this film.
I 💗 Bill.
What a magnificent piece of art.
Great actor!❤
This film is so brilliant! Watch it.
The original Japanese version is as heartwarming. I highly recommend it.
Bill Nighy knocks it out of the park? What park and what was he knocking out of it? Is this American-speak and am I missing something?
Baseball term...colossal home run, undeniable, something very few can do.
@Ahmed Zuq Religious bollocks.
I love your comment. I always dreaded sports in school but got some satisfaction out of hitting the ball (softball) when I was finally taught how. Only went to one baseball game in my life, yet I sometimes think metaphorically of "knocking it out of the park." Perhaps you are missing this feeling? Is there a parallel in cricket?
@@globalheartwarming I'm sure there is a cricket equivalent, but alas, as a sculler there is none. It's win or lose.
@@VickersDoorter What is a sculler? Is this British-speak (going by Oxford) and am I missing something? 😉
even original "Ikiru" is deserved to win Oscar now.
Bill Nighy should win the Oscar
looks great, ikiru/umberto d vibes
I loved every second of it. Bravo
I hope there's a swing set

WOW 👏👏👏🙋♂️
I love Bill Nighy! Where can I watch this movie at?
Does anyone know the classical piano piece that is played during the train scene at the begining of this film? I don't mean the piece that is played in this trailer! Unfortunately, I haven't found the scene online, so I can't provide a link, but hopefully someone knows it. Many thanks!
Fabulous work
Why is this film not available to be watched outside the UK?
