I was able to replace a new filter and reset it by using the option on the front panel and press the re set option and it worked. Thanks for the suggestion and the video . Very useful info.
Ok, was about ready to pop a fuse try to get the filter to work. If it trickles out very slowly try this, push the filter in slowly at the same time as you are drawing a glass of water, do this at the same time and it might work, worked for us.
Funny comment from Yoomg. 4 gallons is probably not necessary. Not sure why they'd suggest so much. 4 quarts at most, I'd think, especially if it's just to ensure no air bubbles and wet the charcoal.
I had no problems until I changed filters, 7 years no issues and now on this one the water is flowing slow, I’ve tried two filters already-any ideas???
I have the filter that is at the bottom of the fridge. The little piece that helps eject the filter when the door is opened, has come disconnected and I can’t get the filter out. What do I do?
Awhh no wonder I can't get the old water filter out. The door compartment is broke! Anybody know where I can find a replacement door compartment thing-a-ma-bob??
Every time I install a new filter, I have to detach the water supply line, drain and reconnect, several times. Why can't this filter just fill and run?
I just replaced mine and the door will latch if I press hard enough. Problem with mine is that when the door is latched, the filter seems to be pressed into place too tightly because I get almost zero water flow. If I leave the door slightly unlatched I get great water flow but I'm concerned it may leak. The new filter is identical to the old one but it must be just slightly longer. Anyone have suggestions?

Welp, 4 gallons I suppose is the ideal. Depends if you want to drink some "dirty" water for a while until it's fully flushed. On the packaging of Filter 1, it say's it filters up to 200 gallons of water. So 4 gallons doesn't seem all bad really. Just ensures you get quality water. czcams.com/video/Cinh_Yp7PH8/video.html
The problem isn’t replacing the filter, the problem is getting the Order Filter Light to go off. The instructions that came with the refrigerator make no sense, the FILTER RESET button does not exit.
There is a no Filter Reset button on the front panel. You hold down the "light" and "ice type" button at the same time for 4 seconds.located on the front panel

Go to "Options" on door, then press "Filter Reset" then "Confirm". 🙂 HTH (I held the ice type and light like someone suggested, then went into a panic over the beeping and the countdown, 3,2,1! I thought my fridge was going to self-destruct!😖🤯)
I just installed a new filter, (did not flush more than 32 ounces of water,) tested the water and it was in the red, 78 ppm. - Does anyone know if flushing more water makes the water cleaner? I don't want to waste 4 gallons of water, if it's not going to make much of difference.
I changed the filter as the video shows. Drained 2 gallons of water. However, the alarm that shows the filter needs to b changed is still ringing. What do I do?

I just flushed a litre and a half and it seems to do the trick. Our fridge has had the same filter from day one from 5 years ago when we got it brand new. LOL. Needless to say, we won't be purchasing bottled water anymore. Water looks clear and doesn't taste gross after flushing about 2 litres worth of "new filter/old water in water filter lines." By the time I’m done flushing 4 gallons of water, I need to buy a new filter
really? shouldn't be
I think it said 4 glasses, which is about a quart, why flush 4 gallons?
Steve Enfield 4 glasses is not a gallon. 4 quarts is a gallon. So if your glass is a quart then yes. But most glasses is 8 oz’s

@@rbarryswanson do you have another filtration device under your sink or that would lead to the fridge's water supply?

My old filter is stuck and won't come out for replacement--any suggestions?
Did you get it out?
My water filter won't pop out when I open the door. I've tried holding the water button as suggested and still won't pop out!! Frustrating....
I purchased a water filter eye drop in march for my Maytag refrigerator was working ok the flow of water was so high and now it's not going high.

"flush 4 gallons to clear the filter of it's mold and residue" that part didn't make the cut in their first version of this video
shouldn't be any mold or residue, it's standard procedure with all water filters to flush before drinking

You must flush 4 gallons non stop all at once otherwise it won't be clean.
I can’t ever get water to come out when I use this.
