This video should explain that to remove the old filter you pull down on the old filter to separate it from the top and then it is much easier to turn because you can grip the filter
Pls advise what filter cap is needed to install a EDR3RXD1 in a side by side Whirlpool(purchased at Ikea) with installation at bottom of refrig. Mine is cracked.
4 gallons does sound excessive, but since the filter is good up to 200 gallons, it's not that bad. I filtered 3 gallons and it was still a little cloudy. By the 4th gallon, it was clear. Just my personal experience...
I replaced the filter about 6 months and this video made me laugh because it says there may be some leaking from the old filter so have a towel ready - that was funny because mine sprays water all over by the bucket - I had to take almost everything out and soak the water up inside and on the floor. Have no idea how to cut the water flow to the unit but it’s ok, makes for a great opportunity to clean your refrigerator out and mop your floor.
Bought a used Jenn Aire frig. Had a Maytag before and it has the same type filter. I cannot for the life of me get this new filter to feel and look like it is in place. The water will not work. I took the old one out and ordered new filters then threw it away. Is there some weird thing going on because I did not have a filter in it for a few day? We have an ice maker....WTH??
After installing the new filter, and before running the water, you need to press the reset button on the dashboard.
One gallon -- no air -- no cloudiness -- tastes good -- I'm done ✅ Call me a filter rebel.

Thanks for the video. Very cool. That's easy, but I don't know untill I see the clip.
I need to replace the air filter on the same model do you have a video on that?
I have a hard time taking the old filter out. It won't turn that is my only problem

4 gallons? Waste of water... is there a better filter ?
Help. This bypass cap won’t budge
LOL at how easy they make it look to turn this thing to replace it vs. how easy it actually is.
Finally got the cap off and water started shooting out ...had to turn water to the house off. Help
My filter is at the bottom ,need instructions to replace it
My refrigerator does not have an options button.
I am trying to install one of your filters in my Whirlpool, but I don't think my refrigerator has a water dispenser. How do I run the water?
What if my filter starts leaking a couple months after installation?

I can’t get the water filter out of Maytag.
I’m 75 yrs. old and I cannot get the old filter to unscrew. Any idea how I can get it to unscrew?
