The Alternative options may show up as a refurbished product. Ours was completely new, but the link now may show that it's a refurbished product. Our water from the fridge tastes like it did with the Everydrop. There is a possibility that Everydrop filters out more containments, but for our family we needed a cheaper option or we wouldn't have had a filter on our fridge at all. We also have a full house water filter to takes all of the water in our home through a stage of filtration before it even hits our refrigerator. Take time to investigate whether or not these filters will work for your family like we did for ours.
