Crazy to think Messi makes someone's yearly payment in 2 weeks
This video sums up what’s wrong with Premiership rugby. English clubs throw big money at big names, but don’t use the wages to build decent teams
These are marquee players that are not counted in the cap. The days of big salaries in the premiership are long gone as the salary cap prevents this
Funny No Irish or French players...
Not really funny. Top Irish players are contracted by IRFU. If some were to move to say T14 they would no doubt get top money .
Top French players are some of the highest the game .Virimi Vakatawa, who is currently the highest-paid French rugby player, earns €1.2 million per year. Gael Fickou, who is second on the list, earns €900,000 per year, and Charles Ollivon, earns €850,000 per year. Alldrit , Teddy Thomas are on around €800k .
7 of the top 10 paid from the English premiership, 😂😂😂 not 1 from the URC. And to think that some of the English had the cheek to be whingeing about Leinster a couple of weeks ago.
Nobody knows how much Leinster players earn because they are never audited.
@@emgee6026 The information is there if you are that bothered about it
English clubs are allowed one marquee signing and can pay whatever they want. The rest is on a salary cap
@@Mark76556 There are 2 Bristol Bears and 2 Saracen's players on this list alone. Kinda shoots holes in the ''one marquee' signing per club.
@@Mark76556 Whatever the salary cap is, it doesn't seem to be working for some English clubs, the way that they are folding.
The way Wigglesworth was going on after the Leinster game you'd think there were 10 men in blue on that list
The guys just seen his team get absolutely battered he needs to reach for something
Wigglesworth is delusional. When Leicester lost to the Ospreys he said that them celebrating a last minute try showed that the Tigers were massive and that the Ospreys were acting like they won a cup
No irish player makes 500k. The IRFU manage their resources well yet allot of prem clubs have lads on 800k plus. In a league where the salary cap is €5m, do the maths, it leads to small squads. Its pure jealousy and the sin of covetousness to give out about the success of your neighbours. You should praise and bless their success and try to learn from them.
@@MegaMegamann1also a thing of a marquee player 😊
Yeah, but Farrell and itjoe take over €1.6 million in a €5m cap. You can't have squad depth with that. Yet all the English clubs complain about Leinsters success when their own business practices are awful. All but a handful of Leinsters players are born and bred in the province and would die for the Jersey. In England, with all their schools and clubs, can they not produce a similar model. Rugby Union is by quite a distance the 4th biggest sport in Ireland behind Gaelic Football, Hurling and Soccer. Large parts of the country its not played. Leinster have maximised what they have in their local area from grassroots up, unlike any club in England. Thats why the cheap comments are so laughable.
Premiership wonders what went wrong
Northern hemisphere clubs have so much money it's mental
It’s because the north has more money than the south in general. That being said though, the English teams spend way more money than they earn. The french clubs are a lot more sensible
crazy how there's no Frenchman mentioned. They are amanzing in play are really cheap
No French players are amongst the highest paid on yhe game . For example Virimi Vakatawa, who is currently the highest-paid player in French rugby €1.2 million per year. Gael Fickou, and DuPont are second on €900,000 per year, Charles Ollivon is on €850,000
Thought rory arnold was playing in toulouse
he moved out in 22
Finn Russell is the best number 10 in the world currently. He has such great vision for space to play and his passing is pinpoint.
Not even top 5 imo. Too inconsistent. His offloading game is 👌 though.
Not even the best 10 in france haha
Not even top5
Rugby players in the USA can only dream of this kind of success.
Give it a few years and you will get there 👍
Premiership can’t keep their own players in the league but have luatua on that much money
Not a single Irish player on that list. How can that be?
Because they don't over pay them
@@DM-rp9ik Nah! Everyone knows that Leinster has unlimited budget.
Maybe the budget is more balanced between players
Because elements of the English media and fanbase have grossly exaggerated how much Irish players are paid.
@@normanstewart7130 Exactly Pollard wishes he was on Ross Byrne money Anthony Watson wishes he had Jimmy O'Briens pay cheques
If these are top earners I wonder what the average earners are worth 💭
Average salary in the gallagher premiership is about £170k - it varies quite a bit depending on position (and skill of course!)
finn xx
Why the USA players dont make money in rugby ?
These players are really getting paid peanuts
Funny how nfl third stringers get paid more than some of these players
Makes a mockery of the pathetic excuse the English press and coaches have been peddling to try to cover their own failures.
😂😂😂 are you on drugs ? What are you on about!
No such thing as an English press and what have rugbys top earners have to do with covering English coaches failures ?
Not sure anyone has argued have marquee players in the premiership has been used as a cause for England's failures . Why would it . Even the English rugby media isn't that stupid. The salary cap is debated but usually the English media like to blame Individual players or the coaches.
Premiership is a sad and soon to be bankrupt second class league - well behind ERC Top 14 and URC.
