I'm about to umpire my last game tonight most likely, I've had enough. Sad, because I feel like I have been able to keep play fair, safe and have a relatively positive impact on most players and coaches I've umpired for
I'm proud of this umpire. Based on the coach's comments this wasn't the first time he dealt with the guy who peaked in high school. He didn't engaged and threw him out. Another poster asked why if the game is over? Because as long as you're on the field or the park, you're under the umpires rule.
What's just as bad is the conversation in the background. Don't know who said it or who it was directed towards, but given the coach's behavior I'm going to assume it was directed at the umps. Sounds like someone told the ump to "head back to the retirement home where you belong." Just absolutely atrocious and inexcusable behavior.
a lot at stake at all these travel tournaments... championship T-shirts and plastic rings for the players and a chance to post on the teams website... you know, life changing stuff...
As a coach I know how to stand up for my players with an umpire....this is not it!! As an umpire, I know how much I will take from a coach before they get rung up...cursing like that is one way to do it. This coach needs to do better. And if anyone is wondering, this is one of the reasons there is an ump shortage. The other is parents.
We wonder why there are umpires shortages, each year more and more ejections, 1 man crews for JV games or games get canceled due to 0 umpires, and kids grow up with the respect the coaches have when it comes to sports. Yes parents have a huge influence in their kids, but so do mentors, coaches, and people interacting within the kids life. Also, most coaches are parents with kids on the team.
Amazing how these clowns think they can see the play better from 60 feet away than the umpire can from 6 feet away. This 'coach' should be reported to his association and suspended.
its a game. I was once told I was one of the best coaches in the town. I asked why do you think this? the answer was I never yell. you try to win. but you play everyone, all your players and you cant win them all.
These lower level coaches and players look up and glorify the stuff that big league managers and players do when arguing with umpires but fail to realize that people pay to see these guys nobody is here to watch you coach a 13u team
Okay. I know this is probably meant to show the team that you're more than willing to stand up for them if you feel they got done dirty, and to motivate them to fight for and play better for you in response. But...my guy. These are elementary schoolers you're coaching. Middle schoolers at the most. This is NOT appropriate behavior to be modeling around them, no matter how upset or justified you are. They look up to you as a role model. Act like it if you want your team to succeed.
I coach pony. There are bad plays, good plays, and you have to take the good with the bad. Yelling at an ump will not change the call. But to go out in front of families and kids and swear like this, you are a loser. I don't care what they ump did or said. You can get your point across without doing this.
Your runner got caught sleeping, take it like a man
While yelling the coach had his voice crack multiple times 😂
You wonder why there is an ump shortage

Not me!!!....I don't back down from those assholes!! Eject...they'll pay (AND HAVE PAID!) the consequences!!!.............
Somebody didn’t make his little league all star team… and that person wasn’t the ump.
and you wonder why there is an umpire shortage and you wonder why kids think its ok to yell at umpires too....
Loser coach. He should be removed from the job.
From life...
I'll just say this: sports brings out 100% of who you are.
Coaching was the sole reason my grandson dropped out of baseball after three years! Pathetic.

Talking like that in front of kids and their moms……. He should be deleted from the league as a coach…..Forever‼️
100%…lifetime ban
Awwww! I would be mad too if my team showed up with the best uniforms, $500 bats and $200 cleats just to get swept.

I do hope that guy gets banned from ever coaching again.
that steal was insane 😆
Here we aree 2 months later...has anyone lives changed because of winning a kids youth game...parents are ridiculous

How did he get ejected from the game after the game is already over?
As a ref I've thrown coaches out for yelling at their own players like that
Cause in baseball they are called "refs"

Where will these kids be in 10 years, some may play college but all unlikely to be pro!!! It won’t matter the past is in the past!!!!
eat another doughnut
terrible coach. my son would not play for him
He’s not really a man. I feel sorry for the boys. I wonder how he talks to his own family. Get yourself together coach and grow up.

normal American behaviour?
Then these lunatic parents wonder why nobody wants to umpire for little Johnny.
Anyone know where this occurred?
Dickheadcoachville, USA.......
Every ballpark in America unfortunately.
