KH2 Atlantica had two songs from the movie and three atrocious original songs. Presumably every song in MoM is going to be from previous Kingdom Hearts games and said games have some amazing tracks.

HYPE!!!!!! Definitely most excited for Dark Road and Melody of Memory! KAIRI DEVELOPMENT BABY!!!!
Personally I don't mind Melody of Memory on it's own, seems like a fun KH Rhythm game that I'll enjoy, and the fact that it has a combat element with blocking and dodging based on that Xemnas fight seems kind of cool.
My issue though is them throwing in the important KH3-engine Kairi stuff into the same game, since that makes me feel like I'm going to have to get the game day 1 if I don't want it all spoiled. My only hope is that the game itself isn't going to be a full priced $60 game because if that's all the gameplay is then it doesn't seem worth that. Heck 1.5+2.5 was only $50 on release and that had all of the Final Mixes. Unless there's actually more to the game and we actually get to play as Kairi with the KH3 engine like in ReMind it feels lackluster.
Also at least let us use KH2 Sora's model like come one, why is it always KH1 Sora?
Yeah I'm gonna have to see more of what this game has to offer cuz right now. I'M SUPER disinterested. Kairi stuff is cool and all but I'm not about to spend who knows how much on a rhythm game that happens to have cutscenes that will explain/foreshadow future events.

I'm still kind of looking forward to the game as is, but they either need to reveal a reasonable price in the next trailer or a major gameplay bombshell for me to be actually excited. As it stands it's just a 'guess I gotta drop another $60 or stay off the internet for half a year until the price drops' kind of game.
Yeah, I feel like a Kairi-centric game should actually focus on her in the gameplay, not Sora. At the end of it all, I'm still waiting for a Kairi game.

It’s release date for Melody if Memories has to be August 23 2020. The trailer starts with the cover art and as it shifts you can see “6 new characters” and “release 230820”

The trailer shows 20200123 and this probably just shows the release date of Re:Mind (23rd January (01), 2020). Between the 6 new characters and the date is even the KH Re:Mind Logo.
FINALLY we can get the soundtrack. Not even hating but after 3 I honestly don't care for the series like I used to or almost at all. Also that medley game came outta nowhere
There is definitely a different feeling towards new stuff after KH3, I just hope they keep improving.

The melody of memory is Kairi's backstory.
Did you know that Kioku senritsu is melody of memory in Japanese? And if you change senritsu by removing the tsu and replacing it with a ka you get senrika which translate into War. Taking Kairi is translated to divergence.
And believe it or not Senrika is a popular girls name.
I think the full name is Kairi Senrika or in proper way Senrika Kairi. War of the divergence.

There is technically a recreated KH1 Sora model done for KH3, and you could say the same for Riku with Dark Riku. I think a reason for the old models could also be this game being for Switch.

Melody of Memories looks really fun but of course it has to be cannon..... Why does everything have to be cannon... When you complete Melody of Memories you will get that cut scene at the end of the game which eludes to a Kairi solo game next ala 2.8 Aqua then when you complete that you'll get KH IV Tease..... I love the idea of KH true spin off games but everything has to be bloody cannon all the time

Totally get you with that, old assets, set to release ASAP worldwide in 2020, will probably just have a minimal addition to the overall plot with Kairi story. I definitely think they just want it out, but I don't mind playing a rhythm game while waiting for a real game.
