Bye bye handshake!
I just wanted to say that this was my first time doing this. Not only was the guide indispensable, your anecdotes and riffing during the flashing really helped my nerves lol
Glad you found the video helpful! And entertaining. Haha. 🤙🏼⚡️🖤

Appreciate the random quips from you while flashing in tandem with the video. Much nicer than sitting in silence while it flashes so thank you.
Glad you like them! 😂
My pint feels exciting again. I never knew I could improve the ride of my pint. Feels like a new board.
Makes the Pint EPIC, doesn’t it? 🤙🏼⚡️💯
I'm a Pint rider myself, I'm curious what did you change? :)
@@withchristalonefulOn my personal Pint, I added the posi sensor patch, higher pushback threshold, and removed the BLE handshake check (so I can easily use third party apps). But…you can also add custom shaping and even change your ride modes to behave more like the XR ride modes. The full patch list can be viewed online.
Worked a treat. After getting my pint and wanting an upgraded battery, then seeing rewheel was nixed, I was afraid I was out of luck. Your real time step-by-step was a lifesaver. Thank you!
I am also a new pint owner :) but it’s a second hand. What does it do exactly pls?
@@alibabarouge This video walks you through how to downgrade the firmware to 5040, before FM implemented a bunch of errors and shutdowns to keep people from modifying their boards. For me, this firmware downgrade will let me install a second battery on the fender to triple my pint's range for $200, instead of having to buy a longer range board like a GT.
Does it work for a new pint. I got a new one with firmware 5100 but I'd love to be able to upgrade my battery but seems like if you got 5100 there's no work around out there yet
Unfortunately, no. Per the description of this video:

This adds Custom shaping in the OW app? How sensitive is the custom shaping?
@@GUDBYE_92 It was amazing until i bricked my board while it failed during a flash. Time to VESC now
@@fixmypev Update so I ended up briking my board during my second flash somehow
@@GUDBYE_92 Not exactly. Not without a workaround at least. You would have to spoof your board as an XR and also enable custom shaping in order to be able to do it in the app. I don't generally recommend that (because it's a bit too invasive in my opinion), but it's up to each individual rider what they would like to do. If you decide not to spoof as an XR, you can still access custom shaping via the 'Live' tab of the same site I have demonstrated in this video. My advice: Educate yourself thoroughly prior to moving forward with any firmware patches.

Haptic buzz ruins the experience. 😞😞
Awesome videos! Looking for 5100+ tutorial, please share.
This does not work with Gemini - 5100+. In order for a board like that to work, you first need to have the firmware reverted (not possible via Bluetooth). After that, you can gain access to this tool. If you’d like more information on this, send us an email at www.fixmypev.com/contact-us.
Unfortunately, there are no plans to release a 5100+ tutorial at this time. The methods are too invasive and cross over into a legal boundary we are not interested in getting into. Sorry about that. That said, we are willing to help people revert their firmware. If you’d like more information on this, send us an email at www.fixmypev.com/contact-us.
Thanks Justin for the great video!

Hi thanks for the walk-through it was easy to follow. I'm wondering how "remote tilt" and "enable custom shaping" works. Is there a app or website where you can edit the values live?
Hey! Sorry for the delay. You can access custom shaping and remote tilt either through the Float Remote app (iOS TestFlight) or via the FFMWheel site’s ‘Live’ tab (Android browser).
FM need to get a live, they seem to be more interested with $$$$ than giving what the customers want.
They’ve got their reasons and they’re sticking to them. 😅
Nice! Thank you for posting. Please consider one on the XR.
You’re welcome! Unfortunately, this process was not developed for the XR prior to the project being halted. It is only compatible with the GT and OG Pint (0:28).
Awesome video 🔥
I have one question, I already did this whole process to my GT but I will be installing a TLGT battery soon and I need to do the rescale state of charge. Do i need to go through the whole process in order to do it or is there an easier way?

Great video, Makes it so I can stop telling people.
Happy to be able to help! 😂
FIRST OF ALL, THANKS JUSTIN FOR ALLL OF THIS! great job! I own a ADV pro, a VESC OW+
, 2x OW XR, 2 x OW v1 and since a week a broken cheap OW pint, that received a 21700 15s batpack from me. Now I did the FFMwheel patch accoring to your video! worked perfect,! IS THERE a list where I can translate how may RPM will create pushback at which speed on the pint? I would like to have pushback at 20mph. one more thing, is there a way to read out voltage if I am in "spoof XR" mode?
From what we’ve gathered, the general equation is 88.965 x MPH = Top Speed Value.
Will this still work after the recent update that released custom shaping 3.0? I loved having no pushback but now that I updated the board I have it again
No, it won’t. No way to rewheel or level the board after the update currently, give it time and the community will eventually do its thing.
@TheBlader121 is correct. It will not work after the recent update.
fantastic tutorial .. thanks for taking the time 🤘
You're welcome! Glad you found it to be beneficial.
Not sure if you're still monitoring comments on this video, but I could use some advice. My point got stuck on the "extracting" step (the one that was almost immediate on your video). I waited a long time before giving up and refreshing the browser page.
Now, I can't seem to get anything to work. Any advice, or am I bricked? Thanks!
Hey, Jesse! I’m definitely still monitoring comments. Was just out of state for a few weeks, but I’m back now. If you still need help with this, feel free to message me at www.fixmypev.com/contact-us.
man, this stuff has always seemed so intimidating but you made it so easy to follow and I was able to successfully modify my firmware on the first try - way shorter time than expected! Quick question - if I wanted to change the top speed limit or try different "menu" options for patching, do I need to do anything specific beforehand or can I simply follow the same patch process with different settings?
Glad this worked out for you! And you can follow the same exact process (I suggest repeating all of the steps for the best/safest results). 🤙🏼⚡️🛠️
Thanks man! I was able to do everything right to get this working on my Pint. I had my Pint since it was first announced. I’m Still rocking the same old tire. It’s flat at this point but I changing it out. Also my battery can only get me about 2 miles on a charge, so I’m changing that out too. I’m really hopping all goes well once I change everything out. I’ve been wondering if I can still charge the new battery with the original onewheel Pint Charger?
Absolutely! You should definitely be able to. It might take a little longer, but it’ll be perfectly fine to use (we prefer standard charging anyway).
Ok so I’ve been trying to get the resource tab to actually take me to where I download the firmware. It keeps sending me to an error page
@@devinmichaelpruett2791 This has happened to a few people and I think it's a security conflict. Have you tried another browser for the download?
I love your videos. Have you started working on how to level a GT with the new firmware
Thanks for the support! Unfortunately, we're not quite there yet. The BLE commands that were compatible prior to Cassiopeia - 6132 are no longer compatible. The only way we know to level for 6153 is to do so prior to upgrading. That may change in the future, but dust is still settling on everything at this time.

@fixmypev PLEASE tell me you have a save of the Pint 5040 file you’d be willing to send? I have been asking around on forums and no one seems to have it. If you send the file out I should be able to down grade mine from the current 5100.
I do not, but the website referenced in this video still hosts the files as far as I know (check the RESOURCES tab).
Ahhh shucks...it does not work with my pint on firmware 5100 :( Will you have an updated version ???
Due to the countermeasures implemented by Future Motion to block these apps/tools, an updated version is not seeming realistic at this time.
Just did this to my pint. It wouldn’t let me set the speed to 2500 so I just did 2000 and that worked. At least it’s still faster than stock. I’m also going to be doing a quart battery upgrade soon and wondered how I could reflash this and change the setting regarding battery percentage.
Hey, Matt! The 2500 value is only compatible with the GT as the Pint isn't programmed to allow a pushback threshold higher than 2000 (~22.48 mph). Setting a value any higher than that (I've tried) errors out the firmware.
So, I'm new to all of this. I just picked up a used Pint on Gemini 5050 firmware. Can I do this on that firmware? And if the OW app will no longer be useable, how does one check diagnostics and stuff? I just got the board today and downloaded the app. I did not let the app update my firmware. I want to get the full potential out of this board. But I also don't want to screw it up before I get a chance to ride it. lol.
Yes, this can be done with Gemini - 5050. The Onewheel app may still be usable (even in a limited capacity), but it depends on which type of phone you have. For iOS, it’s usually best to use Float Remote (TestFlight). For Android, you can download an earlier version of the app via APK.
@@fixmypev Thank you for the info. I did the process and worked flawlessly. I'm perplexed on the apps though. Why isn't there an option for switching Safe Stop off and on in the available third party apps like Float Remote and OWCE? I can do it from the Live tab in the video, but neither app has it as an option. I'm currently learning to ride while trying to avoid breaking bones, so I'm using the Safe Stop feature until I can figure out how to jump off of the damned board without face planting every time. lol.

Not that I know of. The public repo was pulled when the project shut down.
If I already used nRF connect for my board for the Saber Rails will that conflict with using this when getting a larger battery? Thanks for this video!
No. This should not conflict with that. If it does for any reason, you can use nRF to level again. Or (Pro Tip) you can use Factory Mode on the ‘Live’ tab of this same web app as it includes the BLE connectivity commands. I hope this information helps!
Is anyone in the community still working on this stuff? Or have FW scared them off? I'd love to change a couple of things on my pint x.
Not really. Maybe a little tinkering here and there, but nothing super progressive as far as I can tell. The DMCA claim against ReWheel really took a lot of the wind out of the sails.

You’re welcome! Ride safe. 🤙🏼⚡️💯
Any hopes in getting this to work with Gemini 5100 fw? Bought a second hand board for a decent price. Should I look at alternatives or just sell it 🤣🤣🤣
Gemini - 5100 is not compatible with this method. In order to be compatible, a Pint bootloader has to be programmed to the microcontroller (that’s not a process that can be completed via Bluetooth). Once that has been completed, Gemini - 5040 can be flashed. If you’d like more info on this, send us an email at www.fixmypev.com/contact-us.
@@fixmypev ahh so it sounds like there is a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel! I reached out to you via email! I am looking forward to hearing back from you!
Hey Justin, I'm thinking about getting the Quart from Chi-battery systems and saw somewhere that haptic buzz is a real headache when switching batteries. So I wanted to get rid of the haptic buzz before ordering the battery. When I go to flash the extractor, the update keeps on failing. No matter how many times I try it, the update just fails. The percentage bar never goes past zero. I am wondering if this has anything to do with the current software of the board being 5314 or something with the Bluetooth on the board. I have tried multiple laptops and am about to try a Samsung phone. If you have any advice, it would be much appreciated.
This has to do with the fact that you’re on the newest firmware (Gemini - 5100) which isn’t compatible.
Thankfully, the code was recently cracked and I just posted a video today outlining the downgrade process:

Hello guys I ride in GT with the firmware flash as on the video but unfortunately I accidentally updated the onwheel app and now I'm in Cassiopeia - 6153 how to go back please I need help I hate the haptyc buzz
Ouch. Since FM’s Onewheels are legally protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, I can’t provide any assistance with this at this time. Sorry.
I spoofed my board as an XR so I could get into the custom shaping, but now I'm unable to do this process again since ffm reads it as an XR now. How do I get around this?
You’ll need to jump straight to the ‘Flash’ tab and flash either base or patched firmware. I always recommend flashing base and starting fresh with a new backup for safety.
This is really great man! I have a question: at the moment I'm on stock rails but planning to take some katana's at some point. Should I skip the tilt kit for the moment and then re-apply it, or is it better if I put it that already in the firmware?
Assuming you’re on a GT that has not been updated to Cassiopeia - 6153, I’d recommend skipping the digital tilt for now and applying it once you have the rails. However, if you want to take advantage of some of the firmware patches in the meantime, you certainly can.

How do i prevent the popup asking me to update my board in the OW app? otherwise worked great thank you!
For iOS, you can use airplane mode or the Float Remote app (I have a video about Float Remote). For Android, I believe you have to block data and wifi from the Onewheel app or use the OWCE app. These third party apps work better if you’ve ReWheeled to ‘Remove BLE Handshake Check.’
What speed do you think I can safely sustain on a pint with 3000km on it? stock battery in good shape.
Would be great I could go on centric roads limited to 30kmh (18Mh) without slowing traffic or risking getting fined to ride on the sidewalk. I weight aprox 70kg/ 154lb
Assuming your battery is healthy, that should be a maintainable speed. But be careful accelerating too aggressively below 50-40%.

Thank you so much just did it on our Pint. Is there a quicker way to go back and change the settings (patches) i just added? I forgot to try to change the pushback setting to be more like XR. Is there a simplified version to do that or just go back through that whole process?

Just tried on Pint 5100 - not worked😢
Did it brick your board?
@@SCrow-ii2sn Nope. I did a small research afterward - 5100 blocks OTA updates(by air), so you cannot do it the wrong way - it just doesn't work(no backup, no firmware extraction, no ability to update ). The only option is to open the controller solder to it and flash it that way.

Hey Justin, awesome video! just wanted to ask. can I still use onewheel app after this modification to monitor my mileage?
Absolutely! Just keep in mind that you may end up getting update popups depending on which board model you have. This is because FM is currently pushing updates for the GT and will be pushing updates for the XR, Pint, and Pint X within the next six weeks. The update popup ends up blocking the rest of the functionality of the app. It's not completely unusable, but mostly unusable. @@fixmypev thanks for the info dude 🤙
does the update stop you from using ffmwheel??

If I install wtf rails on an updated get and want to go back to old firmware to level, how do you change your ride modes? Also can I level the board and then update? Thanks for all the work you do.
In theory, if you're able to find a way to properly downgrade your board, you'd be able to level and then update again if you wanted to. That said, being somebody who what it takes to do, I'm not aware of any accurate public resources that outline the process. And I can't publicize/publish anything due to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) protections.
Hi! @fixmypev , tried this method, and 2 times in a row this tool corrupt firmware on Extract Bootloader step. Pint, 5314, gemini 5100. Any ideas why this could happen?
In case I have such a problem , should I try to proceed withouth backup?
Addressing via email. 🤙🏼⚡️💯
Thanks a lot for this video ! One question for the Pint. The app always mentions the FW 5040, does it mean that it doesn't work with other Pint FW ?
You’re welcome. This web app was designed to work with 5040 only. Each version of firmware is structured a bit differently which means the patches would potentially need to be written differently as well. That said, 5040 is more versatile in terms of modifications and upgrades like extended range batteries.
I applied the pint patch to a different FW version and it worked fine. I don't remember if it was an upgrade or a downgrade, but that pint ripped better than my plus till I sold it.
I selected the custom shaping option for my pint but I can't find where I can adjust those settings. If you know where please let me know!
Hey! Check out the ‘Live’ tab on the same site you completed this modification process with.
@@fixmypev Thank you!
@@TheDragonBoiYT You're welcome! Enjoy and ride safe! 🤙🏼⚡💯
Do you have a video for restoring a backup?
I do not. I can’t legally share that process due to the terms of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
Does this work after the last update?
Thank you!
On a pint!
@fixmypev same question, but on GT?
This is not compatible with Gemini - 5100. However, it is still possible to revert back to older firmware in order to gain access to firmware modifications. If you’d like more information on this, send us an email at www.fixmypev.com/contact-us.
This is not compatible with Cassiopeia - 6153, but your board can be reverted to Cassiopeia - 6109 in order to regain the functionality. That said, it’s not something that can be done via Bluetooth. If you’d like more information on this, send us an email at www.fixmypev.com/contact-us.
Hihi did u get a reply from them? @nunolareiro
Is there a write up for the patches that are available and the differences between all of them? Couldn’t find anything in the ReWheel GitHub page. Thanks!
I don’t know if there’s a writeup, but the descriptions are available under each of the patches on the Patch tab. If you have any questions about the patches, feel free to send us an email at www.fixmypev.com/contact-us.
Hmmm. Stuck at 8% on dump settings for an hour. Not sure what to do.
Well, board turned itself off haha. Now has a purple light if I turn it on (pint). Guess I'm toast. Hardware 5300, Firmware 5042
Power cycled and it let me flash extractor, dump bootloader, and now stuck again on 8% dumping settings :(
Hey! Were you able to get this sorted out! If not, email me at www.fixmypev.com/contact-us and I’ll do what I can to help you out.
I have a 6404 hardware and 6153 firmware will this work for me ?
Unfortunately, no. This process is not compatible with firmware version Cassiopeia - 6153+ (GT) or Gemini - 5100+ (Pint).
Help! I have firmware Cassiopeia - 6153, and my board is stuck “nose up” after upgrading the Future Motion software, and switching out WTF rails for standard ones. What can I do to re-level my board to factory? Thanks.
The only current way to re-level your board is to have it reverted to 6109 first. That’s not a process that can be completed via Bluetooth. If you’re interested in finding out what that entails, send us an email at www.fixmypev.com/contact-us.
Quick question. If I spoof my GT as an XR and want to revert, can I just flash one of my old patched files after it’s connected through Bluetooth? When I start the process from the beginning, it tells me that the board isn’t compatible anymore yet I can still connect through Bluetooth to the browser. Any info will help!!
Same thing happened to me for my pint. I’d like to know too.
Try again? I think I got this same error and was super scared that I briked the board permanently, but after I backed out a screen then tried again my boars got the flash
You should be able to flash still. If you can’t complete the Backup process, it may be worth trying to go straight to the Flash tab. Flashing either the base firmware or one without the spoof patch would be best in your scenario.
I have the same issue can’t back up because the tool thinks my board is an XR. Should I flash to the file that I downloaded or the back up file that I made originally?
@@chandealerprodutions Try skipping the Backup and jumping straight to flashing the Gemini - 5040 firmware.
i ride with my Top Speed set at 2400 bc a friend said it’s a bit more conservative. how would setting it at 2500 differ? is the window for a nosedive just smaller at 2500? i’ve got couple years of experience riding/working on OWs.
So how many MPH at 2400 you get before u start getting pushback?
@@breezeey9113 starts around 21-22mph, really starts to kick in at 23-24mph. didn’t stop me from hitting 28.7mph (would not recommend pushing for top speeds like this, proceed with caution).
Setting it to 2500 all but eliminates pushback (not recommended for inexperienced riders). The ground becomes your warning at 2500.
@@breezeey9113When I had my personal board set to 2219, I got pushback around 24 mph.
@@fixmypev that’s what i expected to hear, thanks!
Can I use this as a way to backup my pre-update GT so I can revert back to it after I attempt ( or successfully update ) via FM to custom shaping patch? Or is it the case that once I update, I can't go back using the backup that I've created?
Thank you!
Definitely! And we recommend getting a backup of your GT prior to updating to 6153 for sure.
@@fixmypev incoming coffee transaction. Enjoy and Thank you!
@@LexxD3 Thank you, Lexx! Appreciate you. ☕🖤
So the resource “OTA Files Pint/GT and firmware” link just keeps giving me a protocol error page? I’m on chrome. Am I missing something?
It gets blocked by certain people’s browsers for some reason. Security settings or something. Try a different browser.
Hey awesome, I have a question ! My Pint has Gemini firmware 5100 and hardware 5326. I bought the this pint on Black Friday this year. Will this work on my pint ? its a regular pint, not a pint x. Thanks for sharing !
Unfortunately, no. Future Motion blocked compatibility of these tools. Per the description of this video:
“Note: This process is not compatible with firmware version Cassiopeia - 6153+ or Gemini - 5100+.”
Is power cycling, holding the power button to restart? (Edit: looks like you're clicking twice to turn off and on)
You got it! It’s just a simple power off and power back on.
Awesome job
Thanks! 🤙🏼⚡️🖤
I'm on firmware 6132 GT wanting to revert to 6109 in order to level WTF rails via nRF then update to customer shaping 3.0 once I have my tilt dialed in. Am I on the right track here? I heard the tilt holds after the CS 3,0 update
Yes. You can definitely do that, but make sure to hold onto that backup file you generate with ReWheel. It might come in handy again in the future. 🔗
I keep getting a update error during the first backup step with GT (6407) / Firmware 6153. I've power cycled the board and tried multiple devices. any tips? or info?
Power cycle and make sure the lightbar is multicolored before you press the FLASH EXTRACTOR button.
