THANK YOU. Clear, concise direction, no fluff or superfluous nonsense.
Fantastic.
Amazing bro thanks heaps, I have a XR with WTF and we not level using my android phone followed your instructions and it works perfectly thanks again - keep up the good work !!
Thank you so much! This saved me. Plan to Vesc in future but just put float life wtf rails on. Couldn’t ride mission really at all and felt like noose was so low. Did this and it’s so much nicer! Thanks again!
You’re welcome, Joe! 🤙🏼⚡️🖤
Keep up the good fight, bro! Awesome stuff!
Thanks! We appreciate the support! 🤙🏼⚡️🖤
THANK YOU! My nosegyro where too high and now its perfect!!!
That’s awesome! Glad you got it corrected. Stay safe out there! 🤙🏼⚡️🛠️
Big thank you for the video for the help!!!!!
DUDE!!!! I just got the steep and deep rails from tfl and I was so pumped. I put them on and couldn’t get enough tilt to make them feel good at alll and reverse was trash. I found this video and it fixed EVEEYTHING! Now these rails are so sick and what they are supposed to be!!! If I could I would kiss you 😘 thank you so so much
You’re welcome, Clayton! Glad it all worked out. Ride safe! 🤙🏼⚡️💯
Awesome..i have TFL Varial Rails on my XR and have been using Custom settings but reverse always felt odd, now i can use Mission again. Thanks.
You're welcome! Glad we could help. Ride safe! 🤙🏼⚡🛠
Wahooo, that's awesome, now I am riding vesc, a few months ago I really wish I knew this tip
Congrats on the level up! Hope you’re enjoying your VESC board. 🤙🏼⚡️🛠️
Yeah dude, that helped me out loads, cannot thank you enough. ❤
Awesome! Glad I could help. 🤙🏼⚡️🛠️
Hall effect sensor calibration question/clarification: in the video you calibrated this with the board level (before digital tilt calibration). When you are adjusting for WTF (or aftermarket rails) do you adjust hall sensors at “ level” before digital tilt calibration or should you be doing this after digital tilt calibration? Thanks for your time!
As long as the tire is off of the ground/the surface below it, you can calibrate. The level doesn’t matter for that calibration. It’s also not something that needs to be done very often, but it’s there if you want to.
Awesome video.
Does this work with the 4211 hardware and 4150 firmware? I know on the GT any firmware more recent than 6109 doesnt work with nrf connect and was wondering if similar fw/hw blocks existed for XRs before I grab one.
Thanks!
Yes, it does. 🤙🏼⚡️💯
Hey Justin! Awesome information! I used this to level out my XR with thunder rails installed. Unfortunately, this has caused a different issue to arise for me. I typically ride in custom settings with the nose angle adjusted to “level out” at higher speeds. Not super fast, but usually around 15-17mph. What I’m running into, is that now that my board rides level right away, the pushback kicks in at about 15-16mph, and makes my rides way less enjoyable. I’ve tried messing with different settings in custom, and played around with mission. I still get the same results. I think I need to go back to the factory default angle setting. How would I go about doing that? 🤔 Unless you have a better solution. Whatcha think?
Is this one and done? I ask because I was able to do this months back when I installed the WTF's and somehow yesterday when riding I felt like I was in Captain Morgan stance the whole time. Did it again just in case this morning and it felt normal today.
It’s one and done as long as it’s done properly and you keep the controller. That said, I have definitely heard of Onewheels becoming out-of-level in the past. Very rare, but not impossible.
I'm waiting to update my board but I want to get aftermarket rails but can I still tilt the board without opening the app? Also do you recommend tilting it even if there straight rails?
You’ll likely still need to open the Onewheel app, but you’ll be able to level your board. If you’re on stock rails, there is no need to complete this process. It’s only for aftermarket rails.
How can you still do this if the onewheel app will ask you to upgrade? Having a CBXR this may cause some trouble. Is there another way to do this without using the onewheel app? Thank you
You have to use the Onewheel app because that is the only way to establish a proper BLE handshake between your phone and the Onewheel. You can use airplane mode (keep Bluetooth enabled) in order to keep the 'UPDATE' prompt from popping up. As long as you turn it on no later than when the battery percentage populates on the screen.
Is it possible to calibrate the BMS via nRF Connect? Like after installing a CBXR to get proper battery level %
Good question! Unfortunately, no. That requires actual re-flashing of the BMS.
now my app tels me to update, it's kind of useless now. Can I update and still calibrate with nRF Connect? thanx for your work. 🙏
If you update to the new firmware, you can kiss unauthorized Bluetooth access goodbye. This includes nRF Connect and OWDT. Are you getting the prompt to update your XR?
Hi..! Can I do this and pair a new BMS with my old controller on my 4208, even with the Gemini-4165 FW update..???
Hey! As far as I know, you can still do this with the new firmware on the XR. If you run into any issues, feel free to hit us up.

Did you have any luck? I gotta do the same thing soon
Is this for only a stock OW? Is ok to do this in a 4212, upgraded battery with a PCB chip and aftermarket race Rails?
This is actually more for modified boards than it is for stock boards. Give it a shot if you’ve got aftermarket rails and need to re-calibrate the level. 💯
will this work with a cbxr battery on a 4209 hardware board?
Sure will! But this is simply for calibration purposes. The 4209 boards generally work with those batteries without issue. If you're running into any problems, feel free to send us a message.

Can I use this method with a 4210/4144 XR with a bms with a haptic update ? This method will pair it, correct?
Given that the haptic update firmware is installed on the controller and not the BMS, I don’t see why not. 🤙🏼⚡️🛠️
Hey I’m having trouble getting the factory mode command to work. I’m not using updated firmware & have the “old” Onewheel app on my phone so I’m not able to go back to the OW app & do the handshake to then come back to NRF & do factory mode command. Any workaround ways to get into factory mode without connecting with the FM app?
Do I need to update the app but not update firmware? Go faster?
Hey, Kyle! Just seeing this, but the handshake is required unless you have successfully ReWheeled the board to ‘Remove BLE Handshake Check.’ If the command isn’t working after addressing that, be sure to carefully review the steps and attempt the process again.
Would this be the same for the + ?
I’ve never tried it, but it’s safe to try. 🤙🏼⚡️💯
Does this fix the 4212’s issue with excepting a battery upgrade? Or is the best bet still to get an older controller?
No. The controller is still programmed (due to the firmware) to reject higher capacity batteries.
Thanks!
@@fixmypev This brings me back to my OG Xbox modding days... Does the future look promising for "eeprom flashing" or bypassing via modchips and/or softmods?
I saw Jeff McCosker, in a recent video, use a public trashcan to re-level his board. I assume he's using nRF connect. I have WTF rails and now it's too level for my liking. Even though it took some getting use to but now I love it. I imagine I can just prop up the tail, during calibration, to give me that nose down feel I was experiencing with Custom Shaping provided by TFL in the /r/Onewheel group.
Thanks again for the information... I hope it works in Vesc because one of my boards will get the eventual upgrade.
Edit: I put my phone and tablet under the tail, performed the calibration, then tweaked the Custom Shaping... All is well once again... except for my pesky headlight flicker. Took it apart. Connector is fine, ferrite ring was glued down previously so it's not the culprit.
@@CayoticProphet It's difficult to say what the future holds because development hours are required and things got shaken up a bit with ReWheel being encouraged to remove their project from public domain. That said, the community has truly discovered many amazing things over the years and we expect that to continue. If FM continues down the path they have been going down, VESC is going to fully consume the market in the long run.
In regards to your headlight flicker, it may still be a good idea to replace your stock cable with a shielded one. If that doesn't resolve the issue, you likely have a failing LED PCB.
Can this be used to mitigate pushback?
Unfortunately, it cannot. This helps with leveling your Onewheel the way you want it and can also pair BMS chips/controllers or fix certain compatibility error messages. Altering pushback characteristics requires modification of the firmware; which I do not believe has been figured out for the Onewheel XR at this time. Thanks for the question! 🤙🏼⚡️🛠️
I did this because the start position of my board was about 1/2” off the ground. Now all I get is error 22 and the board won’t work. Any ideas?
Is your board level when you are attempting to do this? If so and you’re still getting the error, send an email through the FixMyPEV website and we can work together to try to figure this out.
I'm getting a new hardware message with I installed a 4210 controller into my 4212 BMS. board won't kick on. What do I do bro?!😮😊
Send me a message at www.fixmypev.com/contact-us and I'll see if I can help out.
@@fixmypevthanks dude I did the calibration steps it fixed it thank you
@@owenbell2572 You’re welcome! 🤙🏼⚡️🖤
Is this still current? I haven’t updated the newest firmware update with the haptic buzz yet.
As of right now, yes. The updates for XR, Pint, and Pint X haven't been released yet. They're slated to be released within the next six weeks. If the newer GT and Pint X firmware is any indication, this process will not work with the newer firmware upon being updated. Do you have an XR?
@@fixmypev yeah I have an XR. mustache rails, so I’m looking to digital tilt. I did see that the GT digital tilt stayed after the update, but any updated boards couldn’t be tilted.
@@AllTrails_BigBails That's correct. If you want to digital tilt, I'd definitely recommend doing it before you update (if you're planning to). If you have an iOS device, this process is even easier with the OWDT app (via TestFlight). Happy to share the link if you use iOS.
@@fixmypev I just did last night using this video. Worked great. Is there anything else I need do? Or is it just an easier method to accomplish the same thing?
@@AllTrails_BigBails Glad it worked out for you! I'm not sure what you're asking here exactly though. 🤔
Can i use nrf to reconnect a 4212 controller to a difference 4212 bms?
You should absolutely be able to do that! 🤙🏼⚡️💯
follow up question: could you use nrf to pair a 4212 connector to a 4209 bms (for example )? @@fixmypev
ok so from im picking up is, so long as they are both flashed for the xr platform, theoretically, nrf can pair them. despite their model number, or is that wishful thinking on my part?
@@juswilvel
@@chrisq.8528 I haven't specifically tried this, but in theory, yes. Both BMSs are flashed for the XR platform so I'd expect that to work.
update: it worked well no issues. the app is awesome for that.@@fixmypev
Can you pair a pint or gt bms to a XR controller?
Since the Pint BMS is programmed to interface with Pints and the GT BMS is programmed to interface with GTs (it’s also a completely different size/design), the short answer is no. That said, a BMS pulled from a Pint could potentially be flashed (manual process) to work with an XR.
Got the thunder rails here, few things I don't like, it fucks your stance and got sore top of back foot due to angle. Not really designed to carve according to me. Above everything this should cost 100$ not 350 or 450 for wtf. Actually after watching economic experts chat, apparently 2/3 of the inflation is due to greedy people taking a marge up to 5x the normal when selling products. Governament wants to step in to force companies to apply a ''normal'' marge. That is the world we live in and it's messed up! The only thing you can do is boycott.
I reckon there is a reason surf boards, snowboard and skate boards are straight, any angle there interfers with tilt movement of your foot. Then problem up hill, cannot reverse, some curbs just too high... honestly stock onewheel xr + change tyre is all you really need. forget overpriced gimmicks.
@@RusticRaver Thanks for sharing! Everybody’s got their preference. 🤙🏼⚡️🛠️
Dude thank you so much. My battery and speed no longer was displaying and this fixed it. Along with having curved rails the shaping was a nice bonus! 🖤🫡
Awesome! Glad my video helped! Ride safe out there.
