Completely disgusting. I miss the game so much, but seeing this tells me ditching the game over submarines being shoved into random battles was absolutely the right call.

The aircraft launched from the submarine/carrier hybrid vessels can only launch destroyers though as cruisers are too heavy for the planes to carry.... Really like your handle, but I have to wonder whether a reference like that is lost on the current generation. Anyway, CV's are bad enough, but I quit playing this game well over a year ago because of subs. I will not play if they are going to be in the game. I do like watching the vids though. BTW, what do you think that boat is? Tango class, maybe?
The Tango is way out of this game's timeframe. This is the German Type XXI. The design of this boat was copied and further developed by the Soviets to create all of their diesel electric submarines up to the Tango class. The Kilo class which followed it was their first diesel boat which featured the teardrop Hull form which was standard in other submarines by then. The Type XXI also influenced the US post war modernization of Gato, Balao, and Tench class submarines known as the GUPPY program. Naturally, the first generation Nuclear Attack Submarines were also influenced. In summary, the Type XXI has as many children as Genghis Khan.
I've only ever planed on console and there's two things that come to mind keeping these things out of our game. The devs would have to do a major overhaul to all the maps rendering an underwater environment I'm not sure consoles are up to and our destroyers basically are subs already just with guns and more utility and no lock on torps. I really hope is stays that way.

The type 21 subs had 6 fwd torpedo tubes. The Germans also had an teathered gyrocopter that was launched from the back of the sub extending view range from 5 NM (nautical miles) to over 20 NM in good weather. 🏹🤠👍

Thank god that almost only new players are sufficiently morally broken or uneducated to play submarines. This class is so broken that any experienced player will dominate the match in the most OP way. And also thank god that the devs have made sure that shotgunning is no longer a thing, otherwise that DD in the end would have had a really bad time. A strange game. The enemy does not care about this submarine at all. As soon as I fired the torpedo, I immediately attracted the attention of half of the enemy team. A vigorous chase begins for me. And these people don't care at all...
It usually depends on the player. Most, if not all my games with subs in both teams they've just played decently and honestly didn't really change the games outcome, usually they were just taking up a slot that could be replaces by a good cruiser or whatever. And honestly, subs are quite easy to kill for example if they are detected and you can kill them with main battery, or with depth charges. I think it's quite rare to find an insanely good sub player that'll destroy your whole enemy team without even being detected or whatever, but yea, the chances aren't zero.
Your clueless comment is the only joke here. Personal experience on both sides has shown quite the opposite of what you claim. Subs are harder to play right than surface ships. They are also easy to play against. Subs require high skill levels to play.
Also, subs can only spot at surface level and from outside detection range. (You WILL be focused down by all enemies within shooting range as a sub if detected) Their vision decreases at periscope depth and thus require other allies to spot for them. What we have here is a decent player encountering an entire team of noobs. I know because I’ve actually played on both sides. Experienced players in surface ships immediately charge as soon as you ping them.

Btw subs ping is still broken and show indirect locations. Oh and i really like to charge them with 6-7km AWS with my Ohio or Jean Beart. Or my light cruiser what is can't counter them, oh they can they need to go above to sub what is going the same speed like a surface ship. What a balance. 🥰

The sun is always right behind the white crescent shape when the ping rings out. That’s why subs are better off not using it until the last possible second. If you can’t counter a sub or dodge its torps in a light cruiser, you are not very good at the game. Pings that behave like a double edged sword, imperfect homing. What an imbalance indeed.

Looks healthy for the game, give a cool an unique class to the game. different way to play and fun new ways you can strategize against other players other than standard ship shoot at ship gameplay. With every ship armed with a hundred depth charge planes, getting spotted is a nightmare, other subs are extremely lethal. After playing against subs for a while I've realized that they really aren't that good. These things are really there to punish people who aren't paying attention or are singled out from the rest of their fleet. Because every time I've been sunk by one is because I'm too far away from my team to let them help me. And hitting depth charges aren't that much harder to hit either. A few properly aimed ASW's and you can 3 shot a sub and get it over with. I still think that they shouldn't be able to go at full speed at periscope depth but other than that it should be fine as long as you stick together.
I would agree as long as they could shoot sonars in front of them. Now they can just fire the torps and turn to the side maybe turn back completely and sinking them this way is almost impossible.
Far 2 many requirements to sustain a double ping. Apart from that in my point of view you should use as less pings as you should , as a result of that you dont reveal your spot. Thats the reason basicly and secondary the requirements stuff. i also dont use the talent for extra dmg on doublepinging.
An extremely wrong path that Wargaming is taking here. Before the return of the submarines I played every day and now that the submarines are back in the game I no longer play at all... only clan battles.

I didn'r realize how broken the game was until this segment. It definitely makes subs the -0- skill player thing. Not sure how it can be fun unless you are the type that enjoys clubing seals as well. You barely need to aim torps as long as you land one ping.

everytime a sub uses ping enemy ship should be able to detect the sub. using their radar, then attack back using anti subs mortar for example.
How would radar detect a sub when it’s under water? Pinging already reveals your location anyway.

After playing against subs for a while I've realized that they really aren't that good. These things are really there to punish people who aren't paying attention or are singled out from the rest of their fleet. Because every time I've been sunk by one is because I'm too far away from my team to let them help me. And hitting depth charges aren't that much harder to hit either. A few properly aimed ASW's and you can 3 shot a sub and get it over with. I still think that they shouldn't be able to go at full speed at periscope depth but other than that it should be fine as long as you stick together.
I would agree as long as they could shoot sonars in front of them. Now they can just fire the torps and turn to the side maybe turn back completely and sinking them this way is almost impossible.
Shame u couldn't get the win after that carry, do need to ask why you didn't use any double pings during the battle.
Perhaps could be a bait for enemy ships not to use emergency repair?
Far 2 many requirements to sustain a double ping. Apart from that in my point of view you should use as less pings as you should , as a result of that you dont reveal your spot. Thats the reason basicly and secondary the requirements stuff. i also dont use the talent for extra dmg on doublepinging.

An extremely wrong path that Wargaming is taking here. Before the return of the submarines I played every day and now that the submarines are back in the game I no longer play at all... only clan battles.

Subs are fun and I appreciate the hard work they put into the game to add such a unique class. It's really cool that WOWS is basically the only game where you can play a submarine or an aircraft carrier in a competitive multiplayer game and you all take that for granted.

I didn'r realize how broken the game was until this segment. It definitely makes subs the -0- skill player thing. Not sure how it can be fun unless you are the type that enjoys clubing seals as well. You barely need to aim torps as long as you land one ping.
