Such boring gameplay for surface ships. Sub captains will obviously love all of this and claim that everyone else is wrong about the OPness.
The first Cancer is Aircraft Carriers and now the second, Submarines.

These are both historically accurate and worthwhile things to do.

Though I admit the homming torps on ss are irritating. Personally I would give them longer undersea time in exchange for the same dumbfire torps everyone else gets
All they had to do to make Submarines not OP was to slow the torpedoes to reasonable speeds. Then you would need 5-6 consecutive, 100% accurate sonar hits to get them to home in.
or, you know, not homing torps?
Maybe you should actually use subs yourself to realise how trash they actually are

Even the Type XI "Electroboot" could only run around 15 KN submerged. This was incredible at the time and the fastest submerged sub speed in history at the time.

You can kill submarines with the deep mines
They changed quite a bit sice this replay was made. Torpedoes either home OR citadel, not both (player selects). Torpedoes are easier to dodge. Subs don't spot as well at periscope depth.
I came here to say this, there is a lot you can do to counter subs these days, this was when they were busted as fuck and people didnt know how to use the tools even once they were implemented, it was a mess but it's fun now

you can take a sub out in less than a sec you just need to be paying attention and be good at guesstimating. In fact its because of that that sub players have the biggest disadvantages to contend with as compared to playing as any other ship type this guy is just really good

Is there any counters to subs? Depth charge? Sub hunter carrier group? I'm fine with having U-boats but you have to provide adequate counters or it will be no fun
Yes there are a range of options. Most ships have depth charges that they can launch themselves, while some others can call in an air drop of them instead. Submarines can also be spotted underwater if a ship is near or planes are flying above, with the exception of both the sub and opponent being blinded from each other at 60 meters deep. Sonar and radar can also spot, though I believe they stop being useful around 32 meters deep. If a sub is spotted, they'll lose charge faster and have to surface sooner, which of course then leaves them exposed to gun fire.
There is also some counter to torpedoes, which most people at this point have better figured out the meta to now. Torps can keep tracking unless repaired by opponents or not pinged before the previous one expires (about 20ish seconds). Torps also lose tracking when nearing ships. I remember BBs lose it at 2km and less for cruisers and destroyers. Torps also go to where the ship will be rather than where it currently is, meaning you can lead them towards ahead of you then hard turn last minute when they can no longer track/adjust. You can also move the ship in a direction which forces their path into an island, assuming they haven't passed one yet.

To counter a sub, a cv can keep spotting them or drop a fighter. For other ships, long range radar them and focus fire ASW on sublocation. To make their life worst, go to the sub with your ship take all its torp, dont care and perma spot them until they die.

Это очень редкий бой,на самом деле все далеко не так,я сам много на пл поиграл,и торпы часто теряют цель на ровном месте,плюс много эсмов которые неплохо топят пл
торпеды вообще идут в противоположную сторону от цели, ты хоть 100 раз попади сонаром, я так долго ждал пл, и только недавно узнал что на них можно играть, заново установил игру, и понял что зря
@@Menlow1988 нормально идут, там же разные торпеды,и в зависимости от класса корабля который атакуешь наведение сбрасывается, то есть по ЛК раньше всех наведение пропадает
@@user-sf7lx5fu3q я пускаю торпеды, попадаю сонаром и они идут на корабль, я попадаю вторым сонаром для продления и они резко отворачивают в другую сторону от корабля и уходят в никуда, это нормально?
@@Menlow1988si es normal, te explico los torpedos se dirigin dónde el primer sonar tienes que calcular el tiempo exacto cuando el primer sonar va a desaparecer y si los torpedos siguen saliendo de de curzo primero dispara el sonar y luego torpedos

A type XXI german ww2 submarine, 30+ kn forward/13+ kn backwards submerged? Torpedoes running at the speed of sound? ( 6km in 20 sec = 300 m/s = mach 1) Utter nonsense. Makes no sense to play the game anymore.

Because it doesn't make sense. At periscope depth you're still submerged. How are the diesel engines supposed to run under water without consuming the crews oxygen? Play UBoat or another sim. Gotta get your steel whale all up on surface for recharge.

LOL 16 citadels(??) and 3 dev strikes and the only time he even got spotted was for bum rushing the CV and clean up after going 3V1 with a BB and two radar boats. Now imagine that the brain trust at WG thinks they "solved" the sub balance problem by adding direction indication to the ping marker and cutting damage under 3km

a year later and now it is the complete opposite. you are spotted over 8km by radar if not submerged and when they see you for like 2s you instantly get 4 anti sub planes with water bombs on you. simply bs. they can like call the planes every 10s and even when you ping just 1 time your position is unrevealed. not really fun
