This band is so great that they named a city after them .
Love your comment
Love that! 🤣
There`s nothing more to say...best comment ever
those of us that had the great blessing of being young in the 70's - it was the best time EVER.
It can never be explained, the excitement, the overall feeling the we all got from this great music, I feel bad for kids now, there is no seeking and exploring, then ultimately discovering something no one around you ever heard! We were so lucky I still get that feeling every time I hear this music The Joy I remember when I first discovered it, the joy of listening to it over and over again, it never goes away and I believe these poor kids today now where they have a million pieces of garbage in front of them, will never get that kind of joy!!
you know it!👍
That children, is a rock and roll band. With horns !
"Chicago" die-hard fan forever! I don't forget the great Terry Kath 🎸👑
I started crying the minute the horns kicked it. This is the music of my youth. My first drunk night, and so many more "firsts" happened with this song and other Chicago songs. I'm old now and wondering where all this time went. I don't want to be old, I want to be young again. Where nothing mattered but a good time. Love had such a pinch on me, I let her go and regret that bad decision every day since. I want to live again. I'll cry myself asleep again and somehow find the strength to carry on just one more day.
Shut up
That’s such a great comment. Peace.
Their music rill revive you...I was an early teenager when their songs came out...went to their concert later on when I was a little older and still today inget a rush when I hear the this song...keep the fabulous memories
I am right there with you!
GOD bless you
The horns 😢😢😢😢 adds another level of intensity to this song
trumpet, sax and trombone, jazz pure
The Horns wwere their " Crowning Glory" ?ive been listening on repeat ALL WEEKEND👏👏👏 dancing in Sri Lanka
I grew up in the 1970s and we all had the best music in history!!!!!!!!!!!...ROCK ON!
Absolute Perfection!!!!! Mr. Kath is PROUD!!!!
If I’d never heard the original Chicago version, this version would get a 10.
This was my absolute favorite song we played in marching band. I have never heard of Chicago before, and when our director played it for us, I was hooked. I had the pleasure of being first chair playing the trumpet……what an absolute honor that was. Since then I’ve watched countless versions of this song, and this is my absolute favorite so far…….And I graduated way back in 2000, so I’ve had the time to listen to a few different versions.
My first date with my wife in 1975 was to a Chicago/Beach Boys concert. This music is unmatched today. Love it!
Now that's a first date
Sweet memory❤
This song is just indescribable nostalgia and chills❤❤❤
Chicago always sounds good, plus Terminator playing the sax
And Phil Collins, the drums😅
How great is this one? G-D given ability and years of practice. Sax, trumpet, Trombone, drums, percussion, keyboard, guitars......Unreal. Do you all realize how difficult this was to perform live? What an era of music. So happy I did not miss it.
They still have that great sound, just amazing. Thanks you guys,it gives me peace from my worries.
This is a great performance. We all miss Terry, but Keith is so perfect for Chicago. I love watching him play.
+Paul Smith Being a Kath fan growing up doesn't hurt, either....
Terry kath shall be missed but if you listen to the live recordings of Soundstage 2018 and 2019, Chicago's latest guitarist is just as good. With new techniques in guitar playing nowadays with guitar slingers like Reb Beach, Alex Hutchings, Guthrie Govan, Greg Howe, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Ritchie Kotzen, George Lynch, John Scofield, Frank Gambale and hundreds or thousands of others. Look them up and you'll hear them. I love the song although there are various different methods of solos to introduce into this song. Each guitarist may approach the song differently than the other guitar player. Also depending on the xpress floor pedals used as I heard many great guitar players in my lifetime and am sure, there will be others you may not even heard of and suddenly be awed and ecstatic about a certain performance.
Lou Pardini really is adding to the sound here. This the best Jason Scheff has ever sung this. Great, great performance.
I really thought I was going to miss Champlin, but Pardini has been amazing. He really added something they were missing.
Scheff got better vocally during his last few years with the band and has sounded good in most of his post-Chicago performances. I think the relentless touring in the 90s/2000s wore his voice out and he would start "cheating" on certain notes.
@@realjoshhayes It's silly to try and sing Cetera songs in the original key for decades. Cetera certainly doesn't do it. He lowered keys years ago. But the horn section didn't want to change, so they insist on their employees (band members viewed not as brothers but employees) singing exactly like Cetera in the keys that Cetera sung in decades ago. Scheff struggled with some Cetera material especially as he aged, but who wouldn't?? He had genuine hits under his belt. I never understood why they did EVERY Cetera hit but not Will You Still Love Me and What Kind of Man Would I Be. "Will You Still Love Me" should have been in every single set.
@@SLagonia BC was definitely bored and sort of declined to sing the melody. Lou has the grit, but sings the songs in a more recognizable way. He's a good replacement.
He sang the hell out of it..the whole band was as on as you could hope for. Any better and my brain would explode...lmao
Man, I miss this lineup with. Keith is such a fabulous player, he’s true to the spirit of the songs and Terrys influence but put his own touch on the solos.
For me the best line up since the original one.
Rendition is outstanding.
Thanks to all.
Sounds great! I'm always going to miss Mr. Kath, though.
AMAZING Triumph yet again. Chicago has been a part of my life since I was a little girl and the Great group of guys have stolen my heart and will forever. Thank you Chicago for lifting me up every time I play your FABULOUS Music
Thank You for liking my comment
I love this sound! The blend of so many strong musicians is perfect! I wish I could drum for a group like this:/
Holy S--t. These Guys can Rock. And they have been since I was just a kid, and SILL ARE!!!. That's because they are and always have been LEGENDS before their time. There's an old saying, 'If you got it, flaunt it' and Chicago flaunt it by the bucket full.
This song is so good, my son, who is in 6th grade, will play this song with his middle school Jazz Band at our local mall this weekend! my son is playing the lead guitar 😎
Then he must be damned good. Congratulations to him on working to that skill level.
@@PintoSeminars thank you!
What an Awesome Song by one of the Greatest Groups EVER!!!! Thanks Guys!!!
The drummer old guy is freaking awesome. He's great for keeping that solid beat. 👍
Reminds me of AC/DC's drummer!
Whenever I see Chicago play, it always looks like Jimmy's having the most fun.
He's always been Chicago's hype man 😁
I agree, it's always been that way... I've seen times when you see him in awe watching Terry shred the guitar, into it all the way. That was amazing considering he had seen it thousands of times.
I’ve always loved this song when I was younger, just turned 31… first time watching this… I’m crying on how beautiful the performance and how much everyone is enjoying themselves.
One of my favorite Chicago songs, such a great performance; really awesome guitar solo!!
The horn section goes extra hard, every time.
Yep! 💜
Love it!
My dad used to play this driving me to school when I was a kid.Sadly passed in 2018 when I hear it played anywhere I know he’s there with me.
When you hear that famous brass riff it takes you back to better days.
Amazing band!! STILL!! Period.
This is by far my favorite version that I've been able to find on CZcams. These guys are awesome and the singers voice is in near perfect key for this performance. I wish I was able to travel to the 70s to watch them live.
Check out the Leonid ad Friends version.
Man, they sound great. I really like this current lineup. Walfredo adds so much, that latin, brazilian, whatever, style percussion is so much fun. And I really like Lou. His vocals are right on point. Awesome!!
AMAZING!!!!! I love the mix of this sound and CHICAGO guys!!!!!!
Just like a fine wine, these guys age beautifully. Seen them about 8 times.
Don't know how many times I've watched this, love it!
Whew, masterful guitar solo. Give that man a raise.
He's trying, but he's no Terry Kath
Amazing! I loved this performance and watched it a few times! Loved everything about this vid, good job GC!
amazing group had the joy of seeing them live and play excellent
Wiiiiiild, oh my Lord is this good
I've never been a huge Chicago fan but I absolutely love seeing these guys still in love with performing!! The energy they put out is amazing... My Lord I wanna jam out with these guys lol
People are addicted to compare ( singers, guitarists aso..) like a little child. This band, included the new guitarist, is great! You cannot living in the past....keep your memories!
I wish Chicago would make music videos of this quality for any upcoming material. Heck even if they would do old Chicago fan favorites that they don't do on tour, that would be awesome.
First time listening quite deeper Chicago,my father is a fan of only one or two song...what a band dude
Age is just a number. This band just PROVED this.
This #*%& is still swingiin' in 2022...go 'head fellahs...yall is doin' it!!
amazing performance chicago are idols
2:14. Can't stop repeating Keith's solo
I don't know what everyone's problem is. I love this song and this was a great performance. Get those sticks out of your asses and actually listen to the music.
+Will Gaines As much as I loved Kath's playing & yeah Cetera was a great vocalist & bass player this was well done. Guitar player did Kath very well. I rem when I saw them though Kath was on an SG which does give a different & IMO far better tone. Great writing & arranging although back then there was a roughness to it that isn't quite here. A little too much bling perhaps. Just my 2 cents.
+greatvanzinni good points. IMHO this performance was miles better than the original recording and ESPECIALLY the remaster
+greatvanzinni, I agree about the SG!!! I don't think they'll ever get all the way back to the raw sound from IX and previous, but I was definitely glad to hear every instrument and voice out clear and balanced up - for the most part - as opposed to over-engineered and mixed down for "pop" recordings. Whoever the sound guy is for GCS is usually pretty amazing - reminds me of SNL, where the real performing bands shine and the pretty-boy studio bands will sound like the train wrecks they really are - but here there is just a bit too much reverb, and somebody missed a slider on some of the individual horn parts. Ever since Jimmy and Lee got away from stand mics, Jimmy will often point his horn right at the deck (so he can hear to tune better) for some of his solos - instead of pointing the bell up - and sound cats that don't really know the horn parts will get faked out and forget to turn him up.
+Will Gaines Yea! This is pretty sick!!!!
@@greatvanzini the sg fit Terry's playing, but the stats compliment Kieth the best.. Andersons or fender. Imo
One of the greatest song in the story of the music !!!! in any style....
Man I miss the horns of the 70's. Miss that Wa pedal too!
I played this in pep band on the drums every football and basketball game. I never had sheet music just the original to listen to and woth the full band of wind instruments and bass (who all obviously had sheet music) was such a blast
Thank you for amazing show. It’s awesome for me to hear it live!!!!!
Always good. RIP Terry.
Man this song jams 👍👍👍👍👍
The horns make it sound like something very important is happening , right now !
My favorite Chicago song.
This performance ir pure magic, they all love it so much still and it shows.
This is so incredible!!!
Jimmy Pankow is having so much fun!!
I’ve missed all their concerts.. Now i just got done downloaded all their songs and listening to it everyday!! What a music back then old peeps still rock 🎧🎼🎹🥁🎷🎸🎺🎤
WOW they still Got it!!!
Not the Chicago i grew up with but its great there keeping the great Chicago music going!!
Agreed, but no band stays together 50+ yrs without making some changes. U2 doesn't count just yet, cause I don't think they've hit the 50 yr mark as of yet. What will forever remain is this great music
Amazing performance by Chicago, still sound great😊🎸🎙️🎶😎😍🤘🤘🤘
Love this
AWESOME 最高!!!
Damn they really killed this performance. Nice one guys
See kids? This is what "MUSIC" is supposed to sound like: MUSICAL! Hard-rocking instruments with a great melody and lyrics, and vocal harmonies to beat the band! Today's "bands" can't even compare! There's no sequencing or sampling here. These are world-class musicians BRINGING IT! So, please stay a while and learn a little! Thank you!
Amen. Well said!
SUCH A MASTERPIECE
The test of time? 50+ years later this is still a kick-ass song! If it was from today (assuming you had musicians of that caliber) it would still be a smash hit. Nuff said.
What a performance!!! Fantastic!!!
No one can ever replace Terry Kath 😢
The horns are killing it!
STILL AMAZING !!!!!!
AMAZING!! Old guys rule and rock !!
Loved this show
That guitar player is badass dude
He did a good job! Music like this is iconic
Awesome vocal range just amazing
Mind blowingly great.
aMAZING !!!
Man they killed it!
super charged tune...this is really great...3rd listen
ABSOLUTELY AWESOME👍💖
I "fiati" di questo gruppo mi hanno sempre affascinato ... bravissimi!
Miss this line up Jason and Keith were so good in this band!
Holy crap... you guys are the best; yes really.
a little masterpiece
Really musically expressive rendition. Good, crisp articulation. I also feared poor intonation on the lead high notes, but everyone really blew me away.
great tune, well done
Awesome!
Great job on the vocals here! Guitar Center Sessions ALWAYS nails the sound, some real talent there.
LEGENDS.
The horn sections is what chicago is known for, and their songs. They are jamming as always.
this is a completely other league. it's brilliant.
My God, they’re so cool!
I saw these guys live at Thunder Valley Casino - THE VENUE in Aug. 2023 in Lincoln, CA. Absolutely they are still bad ass to see!
I love them😍 so much
