Attaché what do you think about the anniversary of the Handover do you think Hong Kong should go back to being owned by the British
Hongkong is a piece of shxt.
The GDP of Hongkong is close to 0% of the world.
ok i look forward to it
whenever in hong kong, I will take star ferry daily just to enjoy the hong kong island CBD view...the iconic symbol of the pearl of the east.
I visited in July for 3 weeks. Its easily hands-down my favourite place in the world. Living in rural Britain really makes me miss the city.
I lived there for 12 years and re-visit when I can. I miss it at times, so it was great to check out this video. My home town in Australia is only 9 hours flight away, so it is a pleasure to go back now and then.
I also miss HK a LOT! I try to get back as often as I can.
Great to see a CZcams travel show that isn't afraid to show a little personality without just becoming a vlog. Very entertaining and insightful, looking at heading over for a week before the year is over so thanks for the video!
+Trentus86 Thanks so much! We wanted to take it up notch from the standard vlog and I'm glad you dig it
Hi Alex and your production team,
I had been living in Hong Kong since I was born. This fall, I went to the US and started my college life in New York. I miss Hong Kong a lot. You brought me back so much nostalgia. Thank you so much for sharing this exceptional video. The slow-mo shots were absolutely dazzling. :)
Cheers,
Lipmann
+TheLipmannToy thanks so much - we're lucky to have such an awesome production team (i.e. Greg) who makes the cities come to life.
+Tee D That's very true! But I have learnt to appreciate my hometown even more :)
Nicely done. Alex is an incredible speaker indeed.
Thanks Jason!
Funny that I stayed at the Icon Hotel when I was in Hong Kong a year ago. The best service and that complimentary cellphone was the best feature... honestly can't imagine otherwise. Unfortunately I was only in Hong Kong for 3 days and for work. Can't wait to go back on my own one day.
I can only agree with you, HK is an unbelievably fantastic city. Been there 4 times for work visits but finally go there in 2 weeks for 8 full days of vacation and I can´t wait to get there and finally do some serious sightseeing!!
Going to Hong Kong next month from Australia, can't wait
Have fun there, mate!
Where did you fly from and how much did it cost? Curious about possibly flying from Aus. too.
Brayden I'm flying from Perth. And it was about $1,000 for return, don't hold me to it but should be roughly around there, could get cheaper depending on your amount so on
Booked yesterday for April 2017 via singapore as were staying there to and hong kong back to sydney was only $870 with singapore airlines!! so good
Nice mate
Great program. Wish you had a longer version. I live in mainland china but have visited Hong Kong. It's an amazing city
You have nailed HK's character on its head- 'fast, efficient, things available all day, food'. Enjoy!
It's a funny thing that I haven't commented on an attache video yet, because I've watch them and been influenced by them for a decade now.
I think Alex is the best at this. He has a nice manner, good humour, and gives the best balance of info and focus.
Cheapest to get into HK is definitely not the express train, however, it is the fastest and probably most convenient. Take the bus if you want the cheapest. It's about $40HK. Great guide though.
its 23HKD with the bus
HINNERK Can you fit luggage on the bus?
Thomaspoa Yep. I'm a hongkonger.
bus is the cheapest one and it is fast as well
There is a rack for suitcases in airport buses. When you exit the airport onto the bus terminal, there is a ticket booth/window to your left where you can get discounted round trip tickets. Depends on where you are going, airport buses can be cheaper and more convenient than the express train, but you have to do your research.
I love Hong Kong (as well) I also think it might be my favorite city in the world. Love the subway, octopus card, Star Ferry, food! ... airport , airport train ... but I think the Taipei subway is the best subway in the world. You should do a video of tourist things to see (if you haven't) such as Kowloon park, double decker buses and trams, Big Buddha, the Peak, world's longest escalator, night markets ...
Not for nothing but your killing it with your humor. too many laugh out loud moments!
Subscribed!
awesome video... and I must say, you inspired me on taking a trip to HK last summer.... All I can say is THANK YOU! I totally loved HK and I can't wait to go back again!!!
Love Hong Kong, my absolute favourite city on the planet. The atmosphere is electric, a city that truly never sleeps.
The Hong Kong 7s Rugby tournament is the best time to be there for true sporting fans!
A real shame that the corruption of Chinese Communism will eventually destroy it. Visit it before it is too late is my advise.
I like the reviewers style, but why oh why do we have to have the camera shoved up his nose the whole time?! Head room dude - head room!!
Let's see far more of the city and its sights and less of the pimples on the reviewers face! :D (Too many McDonalds! lol)
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!!
Nah, I just never got married ~ saved me a fortune!! LOL!!
Say what you like, you are quite entitled to your opinion.
I am no overly sensitive "social warrior"!!
Rugby players rarely are! :D
For anyone wondering where the fake plane setting is located: it is on the fourth floor of terminal two in the airport, inside the 4D cinema. It's free public access, you have to watch a movie.
Thanks for presenting my home city in such a charming and attractive way. We hongkies have just lost the ability to appreciate what's great about this fabulous city! We really needed you to remind us how fortunate we are to be living in Hong Kong.
This is the best CZcams video I’ve seen about HK! Love the close ups on the succulent food
So happy when I was notified on my phone that you finally posted this guide as I am heading down to hk next month. THANK YOU! (:
Vanessa Chan great! Let us know if you need anymore tips and tricks!
Vanessa Chan
i thing we had old memory in past
Absolutely the best narration, so cool
yea he's cool great job bro
Chuck E Cheese's Brother ok chuckecheese
Chuck E Cheese's Brother dumbass
Very entertaining! I have lived in HK for 4.5 years and found this to cover everything very well!
Just stumbled on this as I am heading to HK in a few weeks. This is the best travel guide I've seen. I really enjoyed it. The dude is really genuine and really funny. Subscribed!
Will be going on a choir tour to Hong Kong with my university choir! I'm nervous as it'll be my first time outside of the US, but also looking forward to it.
Nathaniel Byers tips: try street food, they are amazing
otto Chan lolj
OMG this is so gooood!! I wish you can stay longer and show us more!!! but so far so good! Very excited to explore HK myself!
This video is amazing and super helpful! Thank you so much! Watched your Shanghai one as well. Super excited to go this fall and will make sure to take all these tips with me!
Victoria peak is an absolute must when visiting Hong Kong.
+13bm90 that view is hard to beat!
And the NIGHT,, STAR FERRY
You deserve a thumbs up just for the hilarious insults.
Thank you so much for your video. It is an easy to understand and comprehensive video describing what first time visitor to Hong Kong must know.
Thanks Attaché, we are visiting Hong Kong for 2 nights before heading to the Philippines, and this video has answered so many questions! Brilliant guide, thank you!
Greetings from Hong Kong, great video quality and recommendations.
Timothy Wong Thank you so much! We had such a great time in HK!
The food looks so good.
Lol, I bet u really like food
Thank you for posting this video, I recently visited Hong Kong whilst awaiting transfers at HKIA, what an amazing city, it has inspired me to go on holiday in the future for a further visit to take in more sights of Hong Kong, excellent rrecommendation on the octopus card I found this to be one of the most versatile cards for transport, food etc.a real must for any tourist.
Clear, mature and humorous narration with specific and useful information, good camerawork (with the right choice lens strength - 80mm is my guess) and no annoying music drowning out the narrator. Well done and thank you, Attache.
Great guide. I live in Hong Kong & it certainly is one of the best cities in the world!
+Thom Andrews So great to hear that from a local!
Thom Andrews No way, I watch your videos all the time, Thom 😂
Love Hong Kong!
Reid Trip me too! Such a great city.
This was a fantastic video and told me exactly what I was hoping to learn. Subbed!
I lived here for the first year of my college studies! It was an amazing, unforgettable experience. It's wildly different living in this beautiful city than visiting it as a tourist; you get to see a lot more of what Hong Kong has to offer than what you've barely scraped here (even if it all is amazing)!
Great video, also great quality.
Ian Hoffman Thanks so much! Glad you like the format.
Im going to Hong Kong in February this guide is wicked thanks guys.
Thanks Jessie!
+Jessie F Hey, if you haven't gone yet, here is my advice: when you arrive, check into your hotel, and if you're on Hong Kong island get straight on the star ferry over to Kowloon, seeing the city from the water is amazing, and when you get to the other side there is a viewing platform to see the city lights. It's a really nice trip to just take stock even if you are jet lagged.
+TheUltraPingu Hey thank you! leaving on Saturday. I'm so exited! Have a great day x
You're going to have to much fun! I'm very envious :d
+TheUltraPingu aw haha. I bet I'm gonna want to go back :D
Great video! I will be traveling to HK 🇭🇰 in April 2019 and I’m excited!
Thanks Alex for a wonderful insight of HK, this episode is a must for the first time travelers. this will help me a lot as I am booked to go there this June!
+Joseph Pabiania Glad to hear it, have an awesome trip!
He's come a long way since being in Fifa
very cool
morgan bing Thanks!
I've never been to Hong Kong, but this video definitely enhanced my interest to visit this big city.
That was genuinely an awesome video... info and production (plus the comedy was on point👌🏼) subscribed for sure! Got my own channel too... and the production value has inspired me to up my game!
I've been playing with the idea of going to HK on a working holiday visa for the past few months... this video has genuinely helped me make up my mind. Thanks man!
Thank you Alex (and team) . I arrived in HKG less than 24 hours ago. Thanks to your tips I made it to my hotel so easily that I couldn't believe it was actually real!
This video was very useful, but I felt you spent too long at McD's. It would have been better to see more local restaurants.
Hongkong is a piece of shxt.
The GDP of Hongkong is close to 0% of the world.
You have a great point, but we have something call “shake shake fries” which you gotta try.
Excuse me. Hong Kong isn’t visible on the world map. We are a TINY city, and there are already more than 200 countries in the world. There are cities and cities in those 206 countries. I’m not surprised if any city make that much.
Awesome video, I will be in HK for three days next week, very good advices!
Great video, looking forward to our visit!
Buses from the airport are the cheapest
There are apps of bus companies in HK making it easier to travel along with bus like KMB, NWFB and City Bus. So does MTR, which is a train system like the tube in London.
Use tools well makes your trip better. There are free Wi-fi everywhere in HK.
WIFI IS EVERYWHERE AND BUSES/TRAINS ARE TOTALLY THE BEST AND CHEAPEST WAY TO GET AROUND
+24Videos OMG WHAAAAT, OMG IM REALLY GONNA LOVE THAT PLACE
+Tim Poon is it worth visiting HK in August!
can you please name the second michelin restaurants
amazing tips! just arrived here for the first time today
This was amazingly helpful. I think I may have written notes word for word. Thank you!
Has anyone spotted & admitted to clean that lil white bug on Alex's face between 12;04 &12;28 lolololo.
Living in HK and going to McFress ... thank you. I took off my like.
Great review. Remember everyone has other tastes, I don't care about great restaurants. I am happy with a BIG Mac
I love this video so much I watch it whenever Im sad, reminds me how beautiful Hong Kong is
A really amazing vid! CAN'T WAIT FOR HK NOW!
Omg this guy is soooo funny :D
Thanks!
Great! Good to see someone that truly appreciates this place! It's been my home of choice for years already and I don't reckon I'll ever leave. Now, to business.
More food: Hei Wan Dim Sum Specialist in Yau Ma Tei, One Dim Sum in Prince Edward, Supreme Beef Brisket Soup (go for the curry) in Yau Ma Tei, Lok Yuen Dai Pai Dong (the food experience of your life under a tarpaulin) in Fo Tan, there's also a Dai Pai Dong in Stanley Street in Central (look for plastic stools and follow the smell of food), and so so so much more. Check openrice.com for ideas.
Sights: Go for a half day trip to beautiful Lamma Island: take the ferry from Central to one side, walk a short hour across the island and take another ferry back to central. Hike Lion Rock: a maximum four hour hike from and to Wong Tai Sin MTR station (also check out Wong Tai Sin temple), it's steap but you get a 360 degree view! Bring water in summer. Hike the Dragon's Back. This one's on Hong Kong Island. Half a day at slow pace, and you'll end up in Shek O village with Hong Kong's most scenic beach! Take a bus around Hong Kong Island: 37A goes round and round. Take the MTR to Tai Po Markets station and take a walk around the village.
Then there's more islands, the harbourfront on both sides of the water, sightseeing in Mong Kok, rooftop bars, shopping, you will never ever ever get tired of this place!
Arn_Thor Wow this is a goldmine of information, thank you so much!
Attaché Sadly, the Hei Wan Dim Sum Specialist has closed down sometime over the last month. Hopefully to relocate, but I don't have any information on that. But the area is a treasure trove of all kinds of restaurants, so taking a walk along portland street from Yau Ma Tei to Mong Kok is still a great idea. Or checking out Dundas Street on the eastern side of Nathan Road. Happy eating!
The video is so helpful and so excited for my first visit to HK!
OMG IM SOOOOO EXITED, ME AND MY FAMILY ARE GOING THERE TOMORROW!!!!
Dash Berlin look a like
u missed the street foods and local parks :D
Thx for showing the beauty of my city!!!
legitimately the best youtube travel video ive seen. Great advice, heading to HK in a few days.
Hongkong is the very nice city..
we have 10 cents and 20 cents btw
Hi...I recently subscribed you channel and really liked the way you present the show. Also the camera work is awesome. Please include some must visit place for any city.
Great, great video! Such great advice and so so funny!
Dim dim sum dim sum!
+elmin2323 *drool*
Cha chan teng
DIM SUM DIM SUM DIM SUM!!!
McDonalds is cheaper in Taiwan.
+Truthseeker Nice!
Everything is cheaper in Taiwan. That's what happens when an economy hasn't grown in over a decade!
Love your witty travel blogs! You are the best on you tube dude!
Looks like your video was worth every minute of my life I spent watching it. Thank you.
A man who doesn't eat a pork bun is never a whole man.
+Siol Ko truer words have never been spoken.
Siol Ko But if your Muslim then are you still a whole man
Sleeping dogs reference😂 I must play that game again. Happy memories.
WHY DONT YOU HAVE PORK BUN IN YOUR HAND
Oh shit someone beat me to it
.. oh well
If you want to show a new place to visit, I'd like to see more of the place and less of your face on full screen. Show more images, with the comment on the background. And McDonalds of all restaurants? Really ?
Yeah we were still finding our balance of VO and PTC in this ep, we sorted it in the later episodes. The McDonalds thing is kind of an inside joke.
Thanks Alex for your love for my city and for this great guide. You should really get more into the great foods. There are so many staples like fish ball noodle soup, congee, iced/hot milk tea, milk tea with coffee, our scrambled egg sandwiches, hainan chicken with rice etc. It would have been great if you showed shots of dim sum. They are really amazing!
good video I love to visit there some time, thank you for information.
❤️ u Hong Kong. Only civilized place in China❤️
+Pagan Min
Hong Kong is not China!
+dawnnadir woah! I really didn't know that, weird
Now you know. There you go~
+Phuc Yu We have our own culture, political system, monetary system.Hong Kong is not China!!
+Harry Chan yeah right! Seems like everything from China is so homogenous and Hong Kong is so superior to mainland China. HK does has its own political autonomy and currency for 50 years, but it's nonetheless a Chinese territory and thus part of China. Honey, get over your little white-washed mentality because UK still thinks that your land was just a colonial trophy!
Hong Kong is boring. Shenzhen is the life of the south. It's more futuristic. Hong Kong represents China's past. They have the highest income gap in the world and locals are extremely arrogant.
We have freedom of press, speech, we have the best justice system in the world, unlike china, we can actually win in court.
We don't just put designer brands on and think we're beautiful. we got taste, international taste.
and we never wanted to be china's.
INSTANT KARMA India has all of that shit too bro.
INSTANT KARMA international taste? Hmm is that why China is the third most visited country on the planet, and not Hong Kong/Japan/ or Korea? GTFO!
Just the right amount of information which I have been looking for 😘
I'm going to PER via HKG tomorrow and I'm really excited!!
Going to hong kong very soon for work, for the 1st time. Thanks for the tips!
very helpful guide .perfect.thank you alex hunter
Im flying to Hongkong in two weeks, pretty excited!!!!!! Great guide! THNX
+Joy Guzman awesome! Let us know how your trip goes !
The pineapple bun with the butter slice is fuel for all the walking you need to do in HK to see the city. Very brave and admirable Attache!
Great stuff! We'll definitely be hitting some of the eateries you recommended (and we've already booked the hotel icon!)
Andrew Hunter Thanks Andrew! Be sure to check out some of the old haunts, too. You won't believe Wan Chai!
i'm in love with your videos. Why did i just recently started watching? i went back to HKG 2 years ago and i could have used this.
Sure the best Travel-Guides on whole CZcams!
Greetings from Germany! :)
Thank you very much for your helpful video.
Absolutely fantastic! Thanks for sharing.
Maureen O’Connell thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it!
I'm off to HK in a couple of months time, first visit, 4 nights, and just came across your excellent video. Just what I was looking for. Too much info for me to take-in in one go so have bookmarked the page for further reference.
Good call on making the static fuzz between shots quieter! Great episode as always, enjoying the extended (especially food segment) format.
LordGrimmie I....did we? Uhh yes, yes...of course, that was done on purpose...ahem. Glad you like the extended format, look for it to continue in season 2!
Cool stuff. Useful, slick, and witty.
really cool and thank you so much such a good information im going visit hk next week
@Attache u were absolutely spot on regarding the roast pork buns at Tim Ho Wan, absolutely stunning
