      @CottageOnWheels yup, I've noticed my check engine light will come on shortly after using a different type a fuel than I normally would use. I typically use Shell and my check engine light never comes on. The moment I switch it up, my check engine light pops on and I get this code.

    So I got my car back for Honda they charged me $100 and said they gave me a discount on the diagnosis they said probably the catalytic converter was bad, I said I paid for the diagnosis of that Po420 couldn’t they told me for sure if the cat ,was bad instead of probably .?a price of the Catalytic converter has gone up $500 it is now $1800 part I also had a check engine light for p2422 which is for the evap vent valve stuck closed it’s a $97 part I can do it myself they wanted to charge me $220 to do it for me. Is that element with the spark plug to Fowler on the oxygen sensor, is the light still out ,are you still driving this element? That’s the next thing I wanna do on my list of repairs just want to know if it’s still working, and thanks again for your feedback if you have anything else to add I’d appreciate it ,oh do you think aftermarket catalytic converter‘s would work on my 2006 Honda element and what do you think about junkyard Honda elements should I buy a cat from them and do I need to go with the same year.

    I was wondering if you would be able to help me, at your leisure, no rush the car is running really well ,but I still have that PO420 have not done that spark plug Fowler on the catalytic converter O2 sensor yet,But I will eventually .I stored my car for the summer for six months when I started it up again, I had to do an idle relearn on it because the idol was very erratic after having the battery disconnected for so long,I now have a check engine light on for P 2422 evap vent closed, is that as simple as just replacing that part, and I did have a PO 122 throttle position sensor is sensor circuit low ,that code is no longer there ,dose that have to do with the map sensor should I replace it , even though the code is not there anymore, I also have a PO 300 I’m sure if I take it into Honda it’s gonna cost me, A lot any help you could give would be appreciated thank you and again at your leisure no rush

    • @JoeBakerOutsideTheBox
      @JoeBakerOutsideTheBox  Před 6 lety

      I don't know if it's a good idea to do that hack for your newer Toyota. The Honda in that video is 14 years old with over 260000 miles. Have you tried to clean the throttle body air intake?

    • @adamjoseph1970
      @adamjoseph1970 Před 6 lety

      Joe Baker Yea I actually just took apart my intake manifold and checked for leaky gaskets and pcv valve; everything was normal as well as the throttle body. I've literally tried almost everything to get rid of this code and keeps appearing at 30 miles after I erase it with my scanner. I've also heard that an ecu flash might work. Car runs great though: no rough idle, misfires or power loss

    • @JoeBakerOutsideTheBox
