    For future reference, I found out a lil while ago that every make and model vehicle has a specific step by step drive cycle that can be performed. Mine take 25 minutes. 2 cycles, 10 minutes each, driving in high gear, 2000-2500 rpm (55 mph for my car) with 2-one minute sets of idling in park in between each cycle. Nice vid

    • @autopurlieu
      @autopurlieu  Před 7 měsíci +2

      Yes that is true. For the most part, it’s hard to achieve that driving cycle . Not every road has 55mph straight drive for 10 mins without braking.
      So a lot of shop just suggest to drive it as normal for 100 miles .
      Thank you for your support 🙏

    To make it simple terms as long as your P 1000 code is gone. Your vehicle is ready to go through omissions when you have the code that basically tells you the system has been cleared. There is no data no misfire counters. Nothing is calibrated once that P 1000 is gone you can go in and look at all the monitors and see if they’re completed or not.

People are simply lucky and taking a chance to "force" a tapered seat against a flat surface and hope to have it be leak free long term. Example..... for a V6.....bank 1 is that bank of 3 cylinders with cylinder "1". Bank 2 would be the other side 3 cylinders. You are right.
      This I meant for older car that doesn’t need to spend couple gran for catalytic converter problems. (As long as it’s not clogged )

      However...a code gets tripped when the cat gets to be only 5% "bad" or degraded ( ie, operating at 95% of original capacity). Takes a long time before we encounter the totally-plugged condition you are worrying about.

      @@TheWilferch I’m not worry of anything. Car will run with or without catalytic converter.
      This all up to owners car if they want to do it or not. Most people don’t have the budget of spending close to $1k just to fix the $3k old car .

      @@autopurlieu ....no argument there. Just reminding some responders that the code PO420/430 gets tripped when the cat is "only" 5% bad....it doesn't mean the cat is on its last legs. Cheers.

      If your Honda engine light is off, engine performance is normal, and you can pass CA emissions then I'll say thank you and we'll done AP👍
