Garrett you're probably never going to read this. But it's so awesome to see how far you guys have come from clamping turbo whistles to the exhaust to having your own garages your own race track your own awesome team and all the events that you put on throughout the year around the country.
Sir you are an inspiration to most all of us.
Thanks sir
It's been a wild ride, hasn't it?

Since the addition of George and Sam this channel has been unstoppable. Thank yall for all the time and hard work yall put in on making this happen!!!!
Least we forget Ty
And Ty sorry can't forget about him. I have been invested in this channel since day 1 ...cleeter has a good attitude and good morals and respects other people that's why he is gonna always be #1 in my book..
Since cooper left for me that guy was such a downer
Cleeter is a magnet for quality people
@@ImKrull agree! James is pretty bland too
you may have not read my post back during the mullet gasket issues. but I am glad you switched to copper gaskets. just remember to check the torque after every couple of passes on the head bolts. copper will give a little over multiple heat cycles causing the bolts to become a little loose. the good thing with copper gaskets if they're thick you rarely have to worry about them. if they loosen up and water or oil gets by just drain and replace fluids then tighten head bolts back to spec no need to replace the gasket.
He knows this hence he switched, but good knowledge for other peeps that don’t know.
I cannot wait for sick week!! Praying for that 6!
@@parma-sean Yea boiii!!
we all want that 6, but it will be a bit bitter sweet if Cleetus hits his first 6 during these events without Brent as in the car.
@@SS454LS6 True.
Six week!
I feel like Ty doesnt get enough credit, he's a fabrication genius
When he first showed up I thought he was just some greenhorn welder Garrett hired for cheap to finish the boats where quality wasn't the most important thing. Since then it has become very clear that he is a pro at his craft and Garrett knew exactly what he was doing, and made a great investment.
Did you see the marauder fab video? He got plenty of credit
Hear he's a hell of a chassis/suspension guy too.
Check his older insta posts. You'll see where he was and what he's done. Some real racecar building
I know what you're getting at, but I feel like everyone on the channel actually gets just as much credit as they deserve. That's one of my favorite aspects of this channel. Nobody's work goes unappreciated.
it’s crazy what a dream team with a higher budget can achieve. especially in such a short amount of time compared to like ruby and leroy
Turns out you can solve any problems by throwing lots of money at it.
Wow you boys are sensitive haha I love all the content they upload been here since turbo whistles I by no means ment the money as a slight.

This channel may bear your name, but Cleetus McFarland is actually about the crew and your journey together. No one seems less than equal, and the overwhelming positivity is properly refreshing. Keep living Free my boys.
Mullet running a 6 still wont be as cool as Leroy being the first stick shift GM in the 7s
Just thinking of that video gives me goosebumps
It's wild to think that there wasn't a stick shift GM car in the 7's till a few years ago. I remember seeing John Shepard run his first 7 over 20 years ago with a 4g63.
Crazy how much more effort goes into shaving off each additional second. It's like it takes twice as much to run a 6 second pass than to run a 7 second one
@@eatmorechicken1064 there was some they just happened to be grudge and no time cars
Both are baller though
More love for Zack and Ty. Jackstand, LS, and Savage Sam get the screen time glory but them "behind the scenes grunts" are killing it. Bravo gents. 👏
Jackstand seems to be kind of distant recently. Not really seeing him too involved recently. He seems to pop up here and there but just for lighthearted fun, no serious involvement in the last few months that I can remember.
All the rest of the crew is great that Cleeter has gathered, but I'm a bit worried about losing James. He might've not been there from the very first day, but to me he's the second most important person for this channel.
@@parma-sean He does have a wife and a young child. Maybe he's just devoting more time to them during the "off-season".
Or maybe he feels a bit hurt because of all this hype around George and seemingly everyone falling in love with him. Sometimes, recently, it seems it's just George and Cleetus having all the fun. I'd feel left out too if I were James.
@@parma-sean Yeah, considering they did the sick week together. But I also do remember there being a couple of moments where it seemed a few jokes went too far and stuff got a bit serious. Don't remember exactly but maybe about the time they did the boat challenges. They seemed pretty pissed at each other, kickling icecreams and drinks out of each others hands.
Also what I initially meant was the focus shifting too much to Kevin and Dr Tunem-all, plus George.
It seems Cleetus has a specialist guy for every separate aspect for which he used to rely on James for. Plus Cleet seems to spend most of his time with George or Alex.
It just seems there is no place for james any more. I don't know, just kinda weird situation.
It's about time you guys got some Frankenstein heads
George is the best addition to the channel you have made

Frankenstein heads were chosen as #1 excuse for Cleeter to not run the hood - I remember how tight it was when Kevin set it up, it won’t fit now 😂😂
You just know Ty wants to rebuild that whole tube if he had the time.
I have to say it because no one else really does but Ty is worth his weight in gold. For as young as he is he is a very gifted talent on your team. I know most people give Garrett most of the love on here but you have to hand it to Ty man. I have seen plenty of great work from him on this channel and I just wanted to show him a little appreciation for everything he does for your team. Good work Ty!!
@Ivana Notyers absolutely true, lol
12:14 Cleetus looks so confident
Not gonna lie it makes me nervous when they mess with mullet without Kevin around hahaha. Not saying these guys don't know what they are doing but Kevin is next level
To me, it feels like their current team is somewhere around Kevin level. We have to remember that a lot of the jankiness comes from Cleet, Coop and James throwing together stuff fast and on a more limited budget.
Well the car never went down the track until they changed everything Kevin did to the suspension and the tune

Maybe after Sick Week Tom Bailey and Steve Morris will convince Cleeter the Mullet needs an SMX
I've been saying that all along. Time to get a big boy engine .
But there's a video where cleetus says he has a steve Morris engine there
I think Cleeter has a SMX sitting around somewhere.
Why on earth would he swap to SMX? He’s got the full backing 100% from his engine builders now and they’ll literally drive him any part needed across the country in the middle of the night just for a video he wants to make. You can’t just dip out on the ones who got you there, once you get there. Think about how many engines they’ve built him over the years. You help them research and develop their own products to get to the same level as the Tom Bailey’s and Steve Morris engines.
@@stephen_crumley Because Mullet needs more than TSP can offer, same reason they don't have TSP heads on this engine anymore. I guess if they get into top fuel they need to run TSP also because they will ship parts overnight right? I mean, who needs to be competitive in their class or have a reliable setup when you can just overnight parts for your constantly broken, under built, under performing engine??
@@bobbygetsbanned6049 Cleetus does NOT have the money to get into Top Fuel. 🤣 keep wishing in one hand.
Come Tomorrow..finest tune I have heard since 1971..
I did a rear structure re-seal on a detroit series 60. I did the regular application of sealant on the block but this time, for the first time, I layed down another small bead all the way around the very edges. It squeezed out a perfect little bead between the block and flywheel housing so now you can visually see from the engine bay that it's perfectly sealed. It just looks good so I yelled out "hell yeah brother! You're on the Cleetus McFarland CZcams channel." I'm pretty sure my co-workers don't watch CZcams. They just think I'm crazy. Now if we could get PayPal working from the mountains of BC that would go a long way to proving I'm not crazy.
Love to see the entire team around helping right during start up, everybody making sure everything is 100%. Good luck at the track cleater. Can’t wait to see it !
Should stop playing around and have Steve Morris build you a legit race engine!!! That guys stuff is in my opinion some of the best u can get

I feel you should start using checklists for at least the basics of replacement and maintenance. As a safeguard. There are probably generic lists out there to begin with. The reason for using checklists is because we humans are not consistent. Just a thought, we use them when building railways, and most trains dont do 200mph.
I feel like you should post videos of your hands on experience that gives you the courage to correct world class builders/racers. It's like you only have guitar videos, yet you think that this team should take your advice. Lol.

Aluminum rod's good for several hundred heat cycle's, so another words cleetus will change them after they break.
Always wondered why you kept going with the PRC heads. Not bad for lower set ups but the Frankenstein heads will wake that baby up a lot. The solid roller is definitely a plus and the aluminum rods are a plus too. Should of done all these to begin with!

Whoa, George with the Calvin Klein. Different type of spicy for his lady 🤣
Isn't this like Mullet's fourth engine in as many months...lol? Aluminum rods though, gonna rev fast, and high.
No same engines just different parts they're finding out how much more power they need to make then they thought when building it because the car weighs so much the mullet is 1000 pounds more than my foxbody it takes way more power for him to go that fast than typical light cars so they are moving to different internals probably didn't want to do that at first because you have to change rods a lot with aluminum so after a bunch of passes and sick week he'll probably change the rods already
It's the same Engine just upgraded

I think he’s got some spice coming up for Leroy.
They are pretty much rebuilding leroy moving the transmission and other stuff.
Leroy is not getting neglected. I keep seeing these comments but if you guys actually watched and listened you would know that Leroy is being revamped to have the transmission up front. With sick week approaching, they don't have time to put focus on cars that are not involved.
only casual fans will agree otherwise they would know exactly whats going on with leroy and it's not something that will be finished over night.
Looks like he is strapped to the dyno in the background of the video
Shout out to the freedom convoys / Freedom movement happening in Canada and around the world!! 👍
It is about damn time that Cleetus has an engine that has O-Ringed block and heads, Copper head gaskets, Aluminum rods, and a Solid Roller cam. Now it’s time LeRoy’s engine gets the same treatment.
I remember just yesterday I was watching the video of you running over pumpkins in the old supercharged ram. How times fly, good luck on sick week sir. Do us proud.
Hopefully the ultimate duo isn't dead.. But stoked to see Brent riding with his son!
Im gonna Miss Brent and Garrett together during the weeks events, but i aint mad at the DR. riding shotgun this year either!
The full skirted pistons will do more for preventing rod bending than the aluminum rods will....those little slippers just don't have any stability sideways which is what was bending the rods. I hope the engine builder took the aluminum rod stretch into account or you'll be tagging the head and possibly valves down the road.
Aluminum rods grow over time? Serious question, I know in top fuel they get shorter over time. But top fuel is a different animal than a twin turbo ls setup.
@@codycole8 No...not so much 'over time', but at max revs you have to allow more clearance with aluminum rods or the pistons can tag the heads. They are lighter than steel but not as strong so they'll stretch when a steel one wouldn't. This happens at the top of the exhaust stroke where the rod cap must stop then pull the piston down. The rest of the cycle has the rod in compression which either material is easily able to withstand.
Top Fuel is an entirely different situation with pretty much detonations pounding the rods so it's no surprise that they'll compress after time...but here the forces shouldn't be anywhere near that level. I think going to the full skirted piston is the solution to the rods bending and the alloy rods not needed, but either can work if built properly.
@@recoilrob324 ahh. Understood, Thanks for the explanation. I agree on the full skirted piston, it seems it would be much more stable.
It’s cool seeing my local friends 417 Motorsport water pump on the front of that beast!
