ORLANDO, FLORIDA 32867 - Hudba
David Crosby has the most beautiful voice and the guitar licks that Stephen Stills lays down is wonderful
"You've got to speak out against the madness." Fifty-plus years later what has changed? Far less than we imagined back then.
That was David Crosby singing lead on the verses since he wrote the song, Nash is more prominent in the chorus. In late '69 the group appeared (with Neil Young) on the Tom Jones show and sang that with him, that video is on You Tube.
I feel Crosby's death did not get as much press as I would have expected both for his musical talent (and massive catalogue) and also his social impact. Thanks for reacting to CSN
CSN and CSNY was the soundtrack of my youth. Socially relevant for what was going on at that time
My favorite by them. It opens the Woodstock movie while we are shown the prep for the concert.
This track always takes me back to when I first watched the Woodstock documentary. Great part of the film.
Uh wrong lyrics .. oh you caught it... Nice catch, worthy of major league outfielder 🤣👍
RIP, David.
Great song! Great album! Great review! Glad you're going through the whole album.
Superb funky blues and harmonies. Good choice.
my sister in law sold high end retail crystal nick nacks years ago to a lady who was from out of town. she helped the woman load them into her husband's tour bus. it just happened to be David Crosby and she had lunch with them on their bus
This was the opening song for the movie Woodstock, and it was perfect for it. I am home from PT for a pulled back muscle and sitting here relaxing.
Hey Justin. Sittin' at the computer. Tipping back a beer. Not doing yard work. Pretending I am sad there is rain coming down. I see folks have pointed you to another CSN classic tune. Chorus has a fantastic hook.
Sounds like you're having a relaxing time Mike :)
Fond memories of this playing on hot summer nights...
I've always preferred the live version of "Long Time Gone" from their Four Way Street album, recorded at the Fillmore East. It's slightly slower than the original, and has lots of tense electric guitar thrown in.
Four Way Street is $hit!
I hope you had Enjoyed the Harmonies in this Song because this Group has many Songs with Very Good Harmonies in them as well if you Care to Indulge More of these 3 For Example the song called ( Helplessly Hoping ) 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
so I'm new to your channel and I just wanted to say that I really like your vibe and your perspective and hoping to be able to stay a while and hear more from you 🤗
Hi there Hope! Thank you so much, I really appreciate you watching 😊 Hope youre having a great evening!
👍 LOVE IT JUSTIN, MAINLY A ( DAVID CROSBY ) SONG 😊RIP☹ DAVID!
♥ CS&N. ✌
The sublime harmonies of CSN always leaves me helpless, despite the fact that 'Helpless' is a Neil Young tune. It's beautiful all the same!
Love this song, whole album is one I used to just play end to end
Good one here love you
You really wanna know what I’m doing now? 😂
Well I’m sitting on the train home trying to finish some piece of work and listening to you at the same time! 😂
Have a listen to the cover by Galliano from the mid 90's
I may comment lately, only once and again. But until the absolute end. I will never be a "Long Time Gone", my friend..
Always happy to hear from ya James :)
I never owned this album but had Four Way Street and got used to those versions. Good stuff but a little awkward structurally for me. First album, so I forgive them.
Just sitting in the dark, well window light only, storm knocked out the power. Didn’t get breakfast cooked before it went out… stomach’s growling.
At least I got CSN.
Hope that powers back on!

Yes, thank god… makes you not take things for granted. Southern storms are nothing to sneeze at, you know.
Others have mentioned this in the comments - this is the collab of this song with Tom Jones on his show back in the day

Maybe David’s best vocals was the great instrumental backing him!
There is a great live version of this with tom jones of all people singing lead. Shows the band really getting into the mood of the song. Great blues track.
Crosby starts and Stills ends every verse
David Crosby lead. Nash dominates chorus. Steven Stills sings out of the chorus
