She was born in to Hollywood's most iconic family. But a smooth ride was never in the cards for Drew Barrymore. Catapulted into fame at seven after starring in Spielberg's E.T., little Drew Barrymore was quickly exploited by the industry, enabled by her family, and criticised by the media. Years of reckless partying ensued, until Drew was put in rehab for addiction at the age of 13. But this tale of tragedy is a trend when it comes to the Barrymores - which poses the question: was this all part of Drew's Barrymore curse?

The fact she's not dead or in jail is a real testament to her strength of character. Now I wish she hadn't had to be that strong but she's still clearly a determined woman. Tremendous work once again Daniel!

Drew’s interview with Brooke Shields was so wonderful to watch because their lives paralleled one another. It’s a shame how this industry chews up young people and spits them out. It’s a miracle Drew and Brooke and other celebs have survived and built healthy lives for themselves.
Wow, having been born in the late 90's, I never realized Drew had such a wild past. Her image as far back as I can remember has always been extremely wholesome, kind spirited and innocent. It's crazy how this history of hers isn't more commonly known today, like Robert Downey Jr. for example. Thanks as always Dodford, for the fresh pop culture insights conveyed through extremely sophisticated mini documentaries.

I honestly feel the same way and I was born in 90 and the partying at clubs and everything else, I never heard about it in depth. I remember some headlines but no details.

I genuinely love Drew Barrymore so much, she has always seemed to have such a wonderful personality. I also just loving seeing the stories of people that struggled horribly but made it back out, because it's always that cliche of like "if they can do that, I can do this" and like it's said all the time but I genuinely love it.

My Aunt is an MUA in Hollywood and has worked with Drew several times before. She says that while a lot the talent is kind, Drew is an Angel. She’ll go above and beyond for everyone and anyone she could. Sneaking in extra water and snacks for Hair and Makeup while they got her ready. She deserves all the happiness this world can give.
Going from Adam Sandler to Drew Barrymore gives me the vibes that Dodford rewatched 50 First Dates recently and felt inspired to makes videos on them

Also Adam Sandler was a massive help to her I think, he gave her a big part when he was one of the biggest stars around and she was still considered a risk. Something that one guy did for him, that one director gave him a chance when he was a major star but not considered right for drama.

All i knew about her was from charlies angels and adam sandler's movies. Then i read her autobiography. She is a miracle! The perseverance, the tenacity, the sheet optimism of this woman to turn a nightmare childhood into a peaceful meadow. She is a force to be reckoned with.
“Comfortable in her own skin” is exactly how I would describe her. She can’t do what she did or does now without being an icon of hope and change. People can gravitate towards her, feel her optimism, share her story, and she won’t shy away. Truly amazing.
I honestly never knew about her drinking and doing drugs at such a young age. Truly, she is a trailblazer that proves people wrong and shows the world what she’s capable of. An icon.

Ever AFter was the first Drew Barrymore movie I watched. Used to watch it with my Mom, and it had been so symbolic for me in my childhood. To know it was such an important turning piece and just as important a message for Drew makes it that much more special

As a teenager in the late 90s Drew is one of my favorites. Her roles from Ever After on, 50 First Dates, Never Been Kissed are iconic to me in young adulthood. She is such an amazing role model and Im so glad she has chosen to share her vulnerability and strength with us. *omg* I love that ending. Great documentary ❤

What a wonderfully honest, candid story. The earliest I remember seeing her was as a toddler in "Altered States". I think my favorite role of hers is as the teacher in "Donnie Darko". I've never seen her show because I'm not home at that time but I know it's a success if she's the host.
