As always, you two are a joy to watch!!!!!!!!
Maybe i miss heard but rookie mistake #1 is to put your face inside your sleeping bag / fleece when it is cold. Always leave your face exposed. Reason is you exhale a lot of moisture. If you do that inside your fleece that moisture condenses in the fleece, making it wet and reducing its insulation properties, making you colder and the effect is cumulative because the moisture has no way to escape night after night.
One more thing....those are your trail friends on the trail. Youll go back and forth.
I was just reading in the New York Times that the best CZcams videos have embraced including subtle ASMR, and it seems like the trail is doing that for you organically! The footfalls, the crunch of leaves, etc. (I'm curious -- is this deliberate for you or just a happy coincidence? Either way, pretty cool! )
I told Mama Bear and Little Bear (also thru hiking the AT 2024) that my closed captions don't know what to do with the bird sounds, so it comes up as 'applause '. They're applauding Sunshine and Captain now too!
Haha!! Not to make light of the backpack situation you found, but right as you said “if you see anything unusual on the trail….”, Captain is behind you lounging on a log like it’s a beach chair , in background as you nonchalantly walked by him and said that, I busted out laughing. 😂
Yes, hikers in past years have pitched tents there.
❤ ENJOY YOUR TIME OFF
Pennsylvania and beginning or end of white mountains are great spots for trail magic. Crawford a family of 8 came back and did trail magic after hiking trail.
Coconut water+arizona green tea+ minute maid mango.
I was thinking- we will be watching this for 6months. 😮 major binge commitment on our part. In August I will doing the Camino. Maybe watching … or napping. Keep going !!
Just FYI, some people like gear stuff 😬 Also, maybe instead of best and worst of the day, think of it as a high and low of the day. Y'all are oding great! Love following your journey 😊
Looking at some pros.
There was wood in that hollow log😂😂😂😂😂😂
There are specific bird identification apps, if you're interested.
That feather you found? I found identical feathers as a child, and wild turkeys in my yard was not an unusual occurrence. White tailed deer, as well. I grew up in a woodsy small town, and we had the kind of apple trees that are usually worthless for human consumption, but loved by wildlife….
Largo (Captain) these are the days to slow down and talk with your mother. Share goals in life feelings whatever. I know you’re a man of few words ,but these are fleeting moments. Not to tell you what to do.
About the lone pack: I wonder if someone dropped supplies for someone. I used to do that on trails when training for a marathon (but I hid it).
I love your finger tats. I learned how to tat in jail. And thinking of doing my fingers. You both need AT tats together.
It's a hawk feather. It's good luck since it was in your path.😊
